Its red and white sign stood out on a simple beige building nestled under massive power lines. We entered the bright store and took a look around. In addition to the usual DVDs, toys, and lingerie, there was a theater, two preview rooms, and a video arcade with eight private and semi private booths at the back of the store. There were other customers in the store, but we didn't know whether anyone was in back by the booths or in the theater. We decided to take a look. Admission to the theater was $9 for RG and free for me. RG went back to the front to pay and the clerk buzzed us in. The theater was empty, but I was surprised by how large it seemed in comparison to some others we had visited. The room was a long rectangle, maybe twice as long as wide. The flat-screen TV was mounted on one of the long sides, making the theater wider than it was deep. Although the room was plain, the seats were relatively fancy -- three rows of real, upholstered theater seats with built-in cup holders, 25 seats in all. (Yes, RG actually counted.) Since we were alone, we decided to sneak a few pictures before moving on to the booths.

I visited this shop on my weekend tour of Hannibal, Missouri (Mark Twain's hometown!). Most of the…read moreshops in downtown Hannibal feature an early 1900's era vibe to them, often somehow connected to the infamous Mark Twain himself. There are also an array of consignment and thrift shops around. This unique little tourist shop, in my opinion, was a fantastic addition to the downtown area and certainly worth stopping in at. The shop has a collection of both authentic and modern Native American items. They have the traditional 'Native American tourist trap' items like glass statues of bears and deer, beaded jewelry, dream catchers, and other oddities. They also have more authentic items like buckskin trapper shirts, moccasins, and beautiful original canvas paintings. The paintings are kept in a separate area in the back corner of the shop and children and photography are not allowed in that area. For the higher price of the items, I see why. Most items in the back ranged between $500 and $1000 from what I saw. They also carry fur pelts including rabbit, wolf, fox, lambskin, and ferret. Honestly, only the timber wolf and fox pelts are actually authentic to central American Native culture. But most of the items in the shop are geared towards tourists rather than natives. The shop has some very unique traditional decor that features handcrafted items. Just to come in and scroll through their selection is worth it- as they are sort of a 'free museum' in a sense. I am from Alaska where native culture is very prevalent, so I was really intrigued to see the 'Midwestern' Native American items. They compare to the Alaskan ones, but there are some differences. For instance- Alaskan natives use seagrass for baskets, where as the baskets featured in this shop were made of some kind of reed grass. They do have handmade items side by side with Chinese manufactured products- so be sure to read the tags to know what you are buying. They have a few items under $20, but most of the items here are rightfully priced over $35. It's a nice shop. I liked the Native American undertone and I'd say it's certainly worth visiting once. If you're in downtown Hannibal, I would say this is a shop to stop into.

I will try and keep it short and sweet... I came here recently after seeing all the videos on…read moreyoutube of the store walk through's and this place is even bigger than I imagined. Most of the product is separated in categories (cakes, shells, novelties, assortments, etc) they have the biggest selection I have ever seen of any store. They carry just about every major brand you can think of, and even some of the not so known brands that are should I say exxtra spicy... I spent about 2 hours in here and honestly I could probably spend a lot more time in there if I had a blank check.. Most of the time I was just talking shop with one of the managers and another older fellow "Pyro" who came all the way from Texas. The staff was great and very helpful, recommended some stuff that turned out to be great, and gave me some helpful tips. Prices are actually pretty low compared to just about every other place offering those gimmicky "BOGO" deals which is just rolling the price of both items in to one so you feel like your getting a deal. Unfortunately they do NOT offer wholesale pricing however their retail price is still lower than those other places with fake discounts and promotions. In all honesty this is one of the best shops I been too, great selection, friendly staff, good prices. My biggest issue is I wish I lived closer so I could go there more often..

Even if you generally cringe at the idea of a thrift store, even though you can find some pretty amazing stuff, give this place a try, you won't regret it.
