They are maintain the building very well, the amenities are great, the location's great, and property management is extremely responsive. Poor management accountability - a lot of issues trying to transfer to a unit internally. I lived here for almost a full year and there were always issues with the management, from either not owning up to screw up on their end or getting a resolution to my car being broken into the first night I moved in. The community is great however the experience with the management, specifically Ashley the property manager pushed me out "if it's so bad then why do you continue to live here" exact words that crossed the line for me as a resident when trying to resolve issues that weren't in my control. Parking is a horrible situation as well - no longer able to use guest parking at its convenience, having to get parking passes was inconvenient and inconsistent. Pricing overall is higher than it should be for what you get for unit (size, layout, and overall finishes) plus the lack luster of amenities. Property team Katie and Mo were the only people that tried to help when issues arose, without them this place would go south. read more

My husband and I have lived here for almost 2 years now and it has been great. We've moved around a lot through college, graduate school, and our early working careers (the only reason we're moving out is because we just bought a house) so I've lived in a lot of different places around the country. I have had a vast array of apartment experiences - Arcata has been the best by far. The amenities are nice, the neighborhood is close to West End and the cities, our neighbors are friendly, the staff is great, and they keep the building clean. We've been very happy here! read more

I loved the staff, most of the neighbors were friendly and the amenities were great BUT it's WAY OVERPRICED. I lived here for two years and can feel confident in saying it's not worth the money. The unit I had was a small one bedroom and while there are a ton of amenities that can add onto a price, this was too much. But it's hard finding a building that is pet friendly so that will really narrow your options. Loved everything but the price, hence the lower score as I truly am torn on the value of these units... read more

I've lived here for over 3yrs. My good mornings are ignored, people Make sure the entry for closes as I'm approaching behind them. I've had friends (African-American) at the pool an immediately they posted a rule of two guest per tenant. my guest were easily identified. on a reg the pool is filled to capacity with Caucasian guest. They make it clear who's welcome here. I've documented every unwelcome encounter. Diversity isn't in the cards here. moving as soon as I get an offer accepted. read more

Arcata Apartments - Apartments Near Me - Golden Valley, Minnesota

WE WERE ROBBED HERE!!! Stay away... There is a police report with the City of Golden Valley, the report number is 18-0411 if you are curious about it. My car was parked on the inside and someone got into the building and opened my car with violence, INSIDE the parking lot. This place is the worst place that I have ever lease, not only there ARE HOMELESS people living on the premises, I have spotted them and found them during the nights, the management is completely useless and they are incompetent to the core. Nobody cares about security, there are multiple stains for people that don't train their dogs all over the place. It smells really bad in the hot days of summer since the dog disposal places are next to the entrance doors. The elevators are extremely slow and are CONSTANTLY broken, at least one time per month. The common bathrooms stink really bad. Also packages get lost, we actually lost 3 packages in a whole year, one of the them was a gift card. The central air of the unit doesn't work sometimes and management, as useless as they are, blame the residents and force them to pay for it when it is broken. The security cameras don't work, they don't keep records of what is going on inside the premises. The fire alarms get activated all of the sudden without further explanation, we were woke up at least 3 times in the middle of the night in the year and half that we lease there and had to get out because of these incidents for at least 2 hours. If you consider this place, ask how many units they have available and ask yourself why that is. Again for the price of this units, you can get something much better. I have to say, don't get distracted by the mirage of the entrance and the details, this is a very nasty place to live in read more

Don't be fooled. We thought we were moving into a luxury building and this is anything but. If you are looking for an overpriced dorm room this is the building for you. Issues: Managements underhanded practices with: Pet Rent (Quoted at walk through, then changed at move in, then we were told that if we had an issue with it, they would be willing to cancel our lease, not great option when my uhaul is parked outside) Lease terms (Told the only lease option was 15 months) Pet Waste (Told this deposit was to help keep area clean) Weed smell in stairwells, garage, hallways Trash, including booze bottles & cigarette wrappers in hallways Filthy pet area, covered in feces and overflowing trash containers. Health worries: Our air filter was not changed until we had been hear over a year, and god knows when it was changed before we moved in. Safety worries: There is no lock to get into the building from the pool deck. Plain disgusting: I've seen porn hub on our lobby computers and a condom outside the side entrance. General repair: Our ice machine took several months to be repaired after move in. Washing machine took over a week after move in. The TV's by the pool have been broken since we moved in. I would never move into an IRET property again. The management has changed recently so maybe things will get better. I sure am not waiting to find out. read more

Just moved in and accidentally dropped my keys down the garbage shoot along with my garbage, like an idiot!! However, I called our on call maintenance and Matt showed up within the half hour and that poor guy dug through the ENTIRE garbage for me to find my key at the bottom of the compact garbage bin, in another bag!!! Matt and his partner did not give up looking and when he knocked on my door with my key, I wanted to hug him!!!! The apartment is great too but as far as service goes, I am so pleased to have staff who would do just about ANYTHING for their residents!! read more

After bouncing around apartments in Uptown, Downtown, and South MPLS, I was hesitant about moving outside the city, but now I consider it to be one of the best decisions I've made. Here's why: Location: Roughly a $5 - $10 Uber ride to downtown (in rush hour traffic it takes 10 minutes to drive and park downtown). 5 minute walk to West End. Easy access to HWY 100, 394, and 169. Atmosphere/Amenities: It's fresh, clean, bright, fun, energetic, and relaxing all in one. It's Brand new building with luxury amenities (large pool/pool deck, bocce court, Pool deck big screens, grounded gas grills, tanning chairs, premium sound system throughout the pool deck and entire building, pool table, Rec rooms, fitness facility, dog park, etc.) There is a nice mixture of residence ranging from young business professionals in their 20s - singles and couples that are a bit older. Everyone is awesome, outgoing, and friendly. Oh, and dog friendly as an apartment can get. Units: With the new apartment buildings, its smaller than one would dream of, but It's brand new, top of the line appliances, cement walls/floors (I've never heard the person above me), Washer & dryers in each, deck or patio, optional storage room, underground heated parking that is spacious - comfortably get around and park a full-sized truck. The Management Team/Staff (Jaime, Emilie, Curtis, Justin): It's not too often these days that you receive customer service (of any kind) that is worth acknowledging. However, the Arcata team is a continuous exception. From nearly instantaneous response times, to always smiling and saying hello around the property, to hosting social events - the entire team is on-point at all times. There have been numerous occasions where a staff member has gone out of their way or above and beyond their regular responsibilities to make my life easier or more enjoyable. They're personable, trustworthy, and just all around good people. I've had a few minor maintenance needs arise, which is expected. But unlike any other place I've lived, it's taken care nearly always the same day, and completed professionally and with quality. Perhaps the best part is that you can trust that the staff will always be respectful of your home and privacy. Yes, I'd recommend Arcata to anyone on the fence. read more
