From personal experience of growing up with limited cultural exposure, I've often found myself in many awkward situations where I was clueless on what the social norm was... It eventually worked out but I want my daughter to be exposed earlier to a group of people different than what we offer at home so that she can learn. 2. The little town feel. Through my church we donate lunch to our school districts' teachers..... I mean, who does that anymore?! But I'm grateful Monrovia does and we're able to show our gratitude for the teachers. 3. The new principal is warm, visionary, and highly efficient. He quickly offered support and space to other schools affected by the fire, which was incredibly generous. Our child joined the TK class, and Ms. Markis has been wonderfully caring and encouraging. Our child is excited to go to school every day and comes home eager to share what new things they've learned. There are Spanish lessons three times a week, and the TK teacher has even introduced some Chinese daily vocabulary, very practical. The kids get along really well, and the learning environment is positive.

I do not know of any other high school that offers an early college program where they can graduate with an associate's degree. And their culinary program is simply amazing. Offering unique career pathways is what our kids need to be successful later on and I wish I had programs like this available to me when I was younger. They also partnered with Delafield Corporation, Mt San Antonio College, The Gas Company and the Chamber of Commerce to offer a welding program. This is so important that the district recognized the huge industry demands for qualified welders. Like anything...its not perfect. But no school district ever will be. It's up to parents, the school board, PTA groups and community partners to work with the school district to uncover opportunities for improvement and I, for one, am proud to work with DUSD to help ensure our children's success.

There are a couple things that I think are worth pointing out to highlight. Curriculum This is no glorified day care where kids are playing all day. There is structured time for the kids throughout the day. My kids learned important life skills needed in the classroom, and had plenty of time to learn through play as well. The staff also gives updates through focused parent teacher meetings that allow you to track the progress and development of your kid as the year goes on. This was incredible helpful for us. Teachers The teachers our boys had were incredible. Kind, caring, intentional, engaging, patient, and supportive. But if I can highlight one thing, is that they are excellent at communicating with parents. They really helped to foster a parent/teacher partnership to help reinforce important values being taught. They helped thinking of out of the box approaches to help students become more engaged, and pass those along to parents. Any concerns were brought up promptly and were addressed. Overall we have been incredibly thankful for the staff and school. The support, care, and compassion they have for the students is immeasurable. We couldn't be happier.

We've had such a wonderful experience with the preschool program at Arcadia Christian School. As a…read moreparent, one of the things I appreciate most is knowing that our son is surrounded by teachers who genuinely care about him and are willing to communicate and partner with us through his different developmental stages. It has been so rewarding to see how much he has learned and grown since starting preschool. His vocabulary has expanded so much, he comes home singing Christian worship songs, and he's even started picking up Spanish words and singing songs in Spanish that he learned at school. Those little moments truly warm my heart because we get to see firsthand how much he is absorbing throughout his day. I also really appreciate the communication and involvement they provide for parents. We receive weekly schedules so we can follow along with what the children are learning and reinforce those lessons at home. His teachers have also been patient and communicative as we navigate milestones such as potty training, and I appreciate their willingness to work together with us and hear what has been successful at home. Most importantly, we love knowing that our children are learning in a Christian environment where faith is incorporated into their everyday experience. We also have a second grader at ACS, so our experience extends beyond the preschool program. We've been able to see firsthand the quality of education he is receiving while also watching him continue to grow in his knowledge and understanding of God. For any parents who have been praying and contemplating where to send their children, I would definitely recommend considering ACS, whether for preschool or K-12. Choosing where your children will spend so much of their time and who will help shape and teach them is such an important decision. We're grateful to have found a school where our children can grow academically, socially, and spiritually.

I'm Mexican and my kids are taking mandarin at the school, so eventually they will be trilingual. I'm sure in other predominately Hispanic communities they offer Spanish. My son now speaks it, reads it and writes it and I am proud of that continued development. The teachers are all wonderful.
