Love this library. I've been bringing my daughter here since she was a baby. We did all of the reading programs, came dressed up for Halloween and stayed for the guest reading a book thing...we always check out books and videos here. I signed up for Hoopla , Libby and Kanopy using my Arcadia public library card. Those are apps that let you check out digital books, videos ,music and more. I visit the library bookstore at least 2 times a month and always end up picking up a bunch of fun stuff. 5 star library

So excited to read this Megan Miranda book that was just released today! Thanks Arcadia Library for providing a copy today! :)

I love this library, it's pretty big. It's not part of the LA County libraries. It's always nice and quiet in there. The staff is wonderful and helpful. They have a lot of events and programs, especially during summer. Their website/E-Library is easy to navigate. They mostly have physical books. There have been some books that I've checked out and wished they had ebooks, but it's all good. What I love about this library is how short their waitlists are. Lol. & they had my books ready on the actual release date!! Woohoo! I didn't have to wait! They also have plenty of parking, which is amazing. They have like 3 bins to return books outside. They have plenty of computers, but the only downside is that they charge for printing. I don't remember if it was 15 or 10 cents per page. The LA County libraries give you 10 free pages a day.

Arcadia Public Library's February Calendar: Children's craft kits are available to take home while supplies last.

I'm so thankful that this library has take home craft kits for kids during the pandemic. Their calendar shows which weeks they will have pick ups and the kits themselves will be in a bin on top of a bookshelf right at the entrance of the Children's section. The kit I most recently picked up was for Lunar New Year and it contained materials for 3 different lanterns and a little instruction sheet with photos and YouTube links. Just make sure you have glue or tape at home! My kids had a blast doing these crafts! I hope the library will continue to provide these craft opportunities since we can't have in person events right now.

    Covid protocol: pick up area

This library was close since covid begin. I used to spend time in this library a lot, and they used to have monthly adult recess. I was sad when they were closing. A few months ago, the library begins with limited services again. I was about to put a book on hold (I have been wanting to read this for a long time), and pick it up outside of the library with an appointment! Grateful that I can continue to read without buying! Thank you essential workers!

plenty of quiet spaces and a great selection of materials. though using the printer and e-mailing stuff can be user unfriendly at times.

However, beyond the building's design, my experiences within the library have been deeply concerning. Over multiple visits, I have encountered employees whose conduct has been inconsistent with professional standards. Staff behavior has, at times, been selective and antagonistic toward certain patrons, including both adults and children. On several occasions, this conduct has escalated into interactions that were verbally aggressive and physically intrusive in nature. Personally, I, along with my nephews, niece, and other family members, have experienced repeated instances of being singled out, harassed, and subjected to what can reasonably be described as hazing while attempting to use the library and its resources respectfully. These incidents have not been isolated, and I have documented several of them through recordings. The overall environment created by staff has, at times, felt restrictive and punitive rather than welcoming, which is not in alignment with the purpose of a public library. This pattern of behavior is unacceptable. Library staff and management are responsible for ensuring that all employees consistently uphold professional ethics, integrity, and appropriate standards of conduct--without exception or selective enforcement. I expect immediate review and corrective action to address these concerns and to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all patrons.

I would say that about 1/4 of the library is dedicated to kids, so a pretty good selection! There are reading areas, books are neatly organized by author, and I find the staff very friendly and helpful in finding books for us. You can also find books on their online catalog and place holds. When the book is available, they will send you an email and you have about a week to pick up the book. They also have story time in parks and frequent book sales. Plenty of guest parking. I never had to struggle finding a spot. The max number of books you can check out is 100, so we have a lot to go!

The children's section is adorable and a great space for little ones to explore. Occasionally you'll see a homeless individual wander through, but staff generally handles it quickly and professionally. One suggestion: the wall toys and kids' tables could use more frequent cleaning, as there's some visible grime from heavy use. Also, while the library offers a lot of great children's events, most are scheduled on weekday mornings, which makes it difficult for working parents or families with kids in daycare. It would be wonderful to see more weekend or late-afternoon options around 4 PM. Overall, the atmosphere, and the convenience of being within walking distance of so many great restaurants is great. It's truly a gem for families in the area.
