I've been coming to Arcadia Public Library for many years and have always had good experiences, but I was very disappointed by what happened tonight. I politely asked a male staff member at the front desk for help with the printing system. He was impatient and seemed very unwilling to help. After I paid twice and nothing printed, I asked him for help again. He reluctantly came over and treated me as if I simply didn't know how to use the machine. Even if someone doesn't know how to use the system, it's still normal to ask for help. I don't expect special treatment, but people who politely ask for help deserve basic patience and respect. I hope the library will provide better customer-service training so that other community members don't have a similar experience. read more

Was working in the area and stopped in to check it out and get a library card. This library is bigger than most, 1 story and has a lot of areas to sit and read, work or study. I sat by the north window where there was a long table and an outlet to charge things. The parking lot is clean with plenty of parking. Outside it's surrounded by large pine trees, lots of green grass, and a view of the mountains. Definitely one of my favorite libraries that I've been to this year. Had a pleasant productive work environment coming here to do some tasks! I was really amazed at how large the entire library is and is one of the largest I've ever been to. The quiet area is filled with wide desk spaces with very short cubicle walls (wish they were a bit larger for more privacy but the open-ness is okay enough to tolerate. I still recommend earphones because sometimes there's some randos that decide to make noises out loud randomly and can be distracting... I like the overall space and would love to come back here to do work again. Lots of visitors here and there's also 2 hour or 4 hour parking limits, based on the signs. Seems to be strictly enforced as there's signage at the entrance saying you can't even park past the limit for even 1 minute more, so beware! read more

The Arcadia library has been a childhood go-to, with my regular attendance from middle to high school. Coming back here after 8 years, I've noticed how loud and unkempt the quiet policy is. This isn't a library to study--even after peak hours, toddlers come into the quiet section, toddling. I was infuriated how none of the librarians came forth and enforced the quiet policy. Next time I know not to come here. Haven't used them to check out books so can't comment on that. In terms of finding a quiet place to do work, this is far from ideal--packed up to go home after 30 minutes. read more

Love this library. I've been bringing my daughter here since she was a baby. We did all of the reading programs, came dressed up for Halloween and stayed for the guest reading a book thing...we always check out books and videos here. I signed up for Hoopla , Libby and Kanopy using my Arcadia public library card. Those are apps that let you check out digital books, videos ,music and more. I visit the library bookstore at least 2 times a month and always end up picking up a bunch of fun stuff. 5 star library read more

I love this library, it's pretty big. It's not part of the LA County libraries. It's always nice and quiet in there. The staff is wonderful and helpful. They have a lot of events and programs, especially during summer. Their website/E-Library is easy to navigate. They mostly have physical books. There have been some books that I've checked out and wished they had ebooks, but it's all good. What I love about this library is how short their waitlists are. Lol. & they had my books ready on the actual release date!! Woohoo! I didn't have to wait! They also have plenty of parking, which is amazing. They have like 3 bins to return books outside. They have plenty of computers, but the only downside is that they charge for printing. I don't remember if it was 15 or 10 cents per page. The LA County libraries give you 10 free pages a day. read more

Great place to read or study has quite rooms to reserve and a great selection of books

Since moving to the area, I made a mental note to check out the local library. Whenever I visit the library, I feel like it is clean, there are plenty of books, and lots of space to study and read there. They also provide some social events every month for people of different ages and the librarians are very helpful if you need help. As I have entered a new life stage (parenthood), I have also found that the children's room has many books that I can borrow and read to my children. The children's room also has additional restrooms where there is a small toilet stall with adult stalls and a kid size sink for toddlers to use. The library has become one of my main resources on educating myself in how I can grow as a person/parent and enrich my child's life. Lastly, sometimes I find really lightly used and interesting books at the Friends of the Library store for less than $2. read more

I personally love this library. It's clean, it's fresh inside (lol), and I appreciate the business hours at this library. They're open later than other neighboring libraries, so I'm able to stop by after work to pick up books/study. It does tend to get crowded during the weekdays since the library is close to a high school, but you shouldn't have too much trouble looking for a vacant table to sit on. Each tables come equipped with outlets (if there's no built-in outlets, there's always a nearby one) to plug in your devices. Overall love this library. I've been trying to make it a goal to read more books and this is my go-to spot for that. :) read more

A very cute, really nice, cozy, and a really largest great place to study at the Library!!! They also have tons of books, videos, musics, articles, movies, ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines to borrow something from them!!! The Library is very clean and organized too!!! I'm so thankful that this library has take home craft kits for kids during the pandemic. Their calendar shows which weeks they will have pick ups and the kits themselves will be in a bin on top of a bookshelf right at the entrance of the Children's section. The kit I most recently picked up was for Lunar New Year and it contained materials for 3 different lanterns and a little instruction sheet with photos and YouTube links. Just make sure you have glue or tape at home! My kids had a blast doing these crafts! I hope the library will continue to provide these craft opportunities since we can't have in person events right now. read more

This library was close since covid begin. I used to spend time in this library a lot, and they used to have monthly adult recess. I was sad when they were closing. A few months ago, the library begins with limited services again. I was about to put a book on hold (I have been wanting to read this for a long time), and pick it up outside of the library with an appointment! Grateful that I can continue to read without buying! This library is a joke and so is its staff. We borrowed books and returned all on time. We even returned them inside next to the counter. A couple days later they emailed to us saying 2 books not returned yet and put a late fee charge on us. We filed a searching request and they found the books there, but won't remove 1 of the late charge. The one they cancelled the charge they labeled it forgiven. She was doing it secretively with phone a bit lowered. I was able to snag a picture after the disinterested woman at front desk was informed of this incident and said she would inform security. Arcadia Public Library has been a LIFESAVER for me while staying/working at home. They have a contactless check out system online and pickup outside the library. You put books on hold via their website and they call you once it's ready for pickup and you schedule a time to pick up your items. Everything is clean, contactless, and easy to use. I am sad though because they haven't been accepting my book purchase suggestions that I think are pretty popular books that would be a great addition. But that's ok. The only gripe I have is that I was charged for the full price of a new book due to minor water damage (that I don't think was my fault). read more

I love the Arcadia Public Library! This place is huge with a ton of selections from Young Adult to Fiction to a whole big children's section! They even have a good amount of LGBT graphic novels which I was so excited to see. APL has officially become my to-go spot for studying. It's super close to where I live and there's always a lot of parking especially if you park on the side of the library where it's 4 hour parking versus the front of the library where it's 2 hour parking! This place is great! There are many big tables and every small cubicle spaces to study at throughout the whole library. There's also a nice silent area if you are easily distracted by noise. APL also had a cool children's section where kids can read a bunch of books, play with the toys they have, or even sign up for some of the activities APL has daily. The only downside of this library is that it gets packed with high school kids from Monday-Friday from 3pm-6pm (the big tables are usually reserved for them during this time). WiFi also kinda sucks during this time too. Other than that, great place to study in Arcadia when you don't want to study at a coffee shop :) I think I might even sign up for a library card here too. read more
