I've rented this venue twice now--once for a party and again for a baby shower--and both experiences have been absolutely fantastic! The space is local, spacious, and beautifully maintained, making it the perfect spot for hosting any kind of event. Monica, the owner, is truly amazing. She's incredibly friendly, professional, and always available to answer any questions I had, no matter how small. Her responsiveness and helpful attitude made the planning process so much easier and stress-free. We recently used Arcade Underground as our wedding venue and had such a great experience! We worked with Monica, who was incredibly responsive, helpful, and kind throughout the whole process. She answered all of our questions (and we had a lot!), and made sure we felt supported from start to finish. We were a little nervous at first about the venue being in Old Sacramento and about having to leave our decorations overnight (we rented the space a bit early by paying for an extra day), but Monica reassured us that the cameras are actively monitored which helped us feel so much more at ease. The venue itself is beautiful the brick walls and greenery make for such a warm, romantic atmosphere. It also has two bathrooms and a bridal suite, which was really convenient. My only small recommendation would be to bring extra lighting or ring lights for the bridal suite since it's a bit dim, especially for makeup or getting-ready photos. The small kitchen area with a freezer and fridge (no sink) was also super helpful for storing drinks and snacks! Overall, we absolutely loved the venue and our experience with Monica. I'd definitely recommend Arcade Underground to anyone looking for a unique and charming event space in Old Sac! read more

I think it's a beautiful place, but it definitely needs a sink in the kitchen. Portable sinks are not a good idea at this venue. Client had to bring all his own water and the maintenance guy disappeared when we blew a fuse and never came to 45 minutes I don't even know where he was, but it is a nice venue for any occasion wedding Etc.. Just know there's no water no kitchen in the sink. They have a House refrigerator small and they have an ice chest that's it. read more

I'm going to start this review out by saying I didn't look at the reviews before signed the contract and viewing the venue! Monica was so amazing and helpful and answered all of our questions! You could imagine my surprise when I decided to read the yelp reviews after we signed our contract. I was legit panicking! Monica was so great and reassured me she was going to make sure my day was perfect! As the date got closer (01/21/2024)she let us come in again and do another walkthrough. Monica was amazing and she let us use all the furniture they had, and provided chairs and tables. She even let us come in the evening before my wedding and let us set up. Oh my gosh that helped so much! Monica and Dennis were so kind and personable, and made my wedding so seamless! On the day of the wedding Dennis was my right hand man to set up all the last min things, as well as be there for anything that not went as planned. There was even a family emergency happen where my dad had to leave early and Dennis said we could stay later to pack up if we needed because he had to go home. Monica and Dennis were so amazing on making this wedding planning so smoothly! They were so easy going and made sure to make all the accommodations I needed and even when out of there way to help make my dad feel cod. I'm not sure what was going on before, as you can read the reviews make you not want to book her, but I'm sure glad Monica and Dennis are in charge now! Thanks for making my day special! read more

Everything looked amazing and the space was clean and set up nicely when we arrived to decorate. Monica was awesome throughout the whole process! I planned to have my wedding here. My fiancé and I did some walkthroughs and loved the location and aesthetic of the venue - it was perfect for us. We paid a deposit and arranged to have the rehearsal there the day before as well. But they were so disorganized and inconsistent in their communication, so it was a little uneven and doubtful that the event would go as planned. When I followed up about the rehearsal dinner a few months before, they informed us that "the owner" had double booked the venue without them knowing and that we could no longer have the space for the rehearsal the night before as we'd arranged as part of our agreement, invoice, and deposit. They offered another of their properties and free decoration of the space (normally that comes with a fee), which was nice and somewhat accommodating, but we needed to rehearse in the same space so our wedding party would have the same understanding and vision for the day. Ultimately I was fortunate to find availability at another location that I'd researched during my planning. I really wanted to be OK moving forward with this venue, but my fiancé and I just felt uneasy so we pulled out. With the way things unfolded and with how easy it was to be double booked for something ancillary as the rehearsal, and not even being told the space wasn't available until we happened to follow up to lock down some details, we just couldn't risk our day being ruined by any number of oversights or other mishaps. Thankfully the staff was very nice and refunded our deposit. read more

I have actively tried to context this business for ober a. Month AFTER they took my 500$ deposit. I have gotten No calls and no responses to my emails. It's frustrating as I have a baby shower to plan and Bree has left me high and dry. DO NOT send these people a deposit. It shouldn't take a month to reach them. Looked into booking this venue for our wedding. We arrived for our consultation and the consultant was late. It also was a different person ( i believe the assistant of the event manager) who came to meet us. After a few minutes, the assistant told us she can't let us tour today because she does not know the keypad lock code. How unprofessional! So we pretty much wasted our time coming to tour the venue since they could not even unlock the door. A few days later, the assistant reach out to us to reschedule the tour. We agreed for the upcoming sunday. We arrive on time with no one to greet us. A few minutes pass so we text the assistant. She replies by saying she forgot to notify us she can't make it. BS!!! We were in disbelief at how unprofessional and inconsiderate this business is. The event manager never once reached out to applogize or follow up on any mishaps. If this is how it is during the consultation, imagine how unreliable they will be on your wedding day! So disappointed... read more

I hosted my daughters sweet 16 at Arcade Underground. The venue is perfectly located in Old Sacramento with 2 parking garages in the area. The venue it self is an older building with a commercial look that can easily be transitioned into an elegant event. My favorite is the beautiful brick wall that will give any event a little extra glam,there is also an outside patio that is equally as great as the inside. Juanita (the event coordinator) and her staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. My only complaint is that I decided to do most of the decorations and decorating myself. The buildings a has a simple historic elegance in the heart of old Sacramento. An ideal location for a grad party. We had plenty of room inside and outside. Adorable space. Great price but ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE to deal with management. If we would have known how difficult they would be to deal with we would have paid more for somewhere else. This was the only part of our wedding that we look back on with negative thoughts. They allow WAY MORE people than they are allowed to by city fire ordinance... police came at the end of our event and asked how many were in attendance. They said they are only allowed 40 guests when they okay'd us for 120. We experienced horrendous plumbing issues that resulted in literal sewage spilling out into the patio and has a plumbing hose spanning across the back courtyard for the first hour or two of our wedding reception (huge eye sore and very smelly). They never cleaned up the bathroom overflow and ladies had to hold their dresses up in order to use the toilets and jot drag them in dirty, sewage water. While they did address the issue they had no care for making it as quick and unobtrusive as possible. When I spoke with the owner about how upset we were at the situation and how every time we tried to deal with them, he literally spoke AT me for 6 minutes (no exaggeration) before I got a word in, about himself. He bribed us with Kings tickets and a DISCOUNTED PRICE to have another event there, and portrayed no empathy or concern for what happened at his property on the most important day of our lives. On top of that, we had to deal with the change of 3 managers! Two times in which they lost our contract and had no record of our full payment. The only reason it was caught is because I called to request a walk through. They even booked another event on our date. Plus, they nickel and dime you for everything. They tried to get us to pay $75 for them to clean out their own storage room to store our bar and chairs until the Monday after. They also tried to tack on a security deposit AFTER our contract was signed. It ended up working out and we had a great wedding but it was NO thanks to the management of this place. I would never ever recommend this space to anyone ever. Which is unfortunate because it's adorable. * note: I typically do not complain and know that these businesses are peoples' livelihood and that should not be taken lightly. This owner does not deserve to own this space and operate this business the way he does. He is not an upstanding business person and lacks integrity in the way he handles it. read more

I was a guest at this venue in September, for a birthday party. Before, during and after the event, management was helpful and accommodating and the service staff was professional and friendly. The decorations and decor were beautifully and tastefully done, I enjoyed myself so much, the location is perfect. I was able to briefly meet Juanita, who was the venue & event coordinator. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Mostly because I found a fake review under my name on Wedding Wire giving this place 5 stars which is just shady. The whole planning process with Arcade Underground was shady though so I'm not surprised. They changed managers 3 times within 6 months and the last manager was so busy and unorganized it was awful. Each manager had new fees and rules for us so we eventually requested to redo our entire contract. The initial contract the last manager gave us had so many errors and irrelevant details that didn't pertain to the venue. We went back and forth about 10 times revising the contract. In addition, the venue itself is poorly maintained. The day before our wedding there was a huge sewage issue and their was sewage covering the patio we were supposed to be getting married on. In the end, everything pulled together fine. Mostly because of the work we put in to the planning and because the staff they provided for the day of were good. The management of this place is shady and awful and I don't recommend dealing with them unless you want your wedding planning process to be stressful. read more

After finding this venue online and reading the reviews on here, I decided to message the owner regarding a time to set up and appointment and date availability for my wedding next year. I was messaging back and forth with the owner, Gustavo, and he was very responsive and informed me of rental rates, date availability and scheduled a time to meet with the site manager Juanita on 11/27 at 6:30pm, and gave him my contact information as confirmation. My mother drove up from the Bay Area, over an hour, to tour the venue with me. We arrived a little before 6:30pm and the door to venue was locked and the lights inside looked dim. Just before 6:30, I sent Gustavo a message asking if we were at the correct location due to the door being locked. Unfortunately I never received a response and after about 15 minutes of waiting around, I called the number listed on yelp. A female answered, I assume Juanita, and when I told her the situation her response was a pipe ( I believe a pipe, she was not clear) burst and the venue was flooded, she messaged Gustavo to let me know because she didn't have a way of contacting me and she had already left. I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service, and communication. Both the owner Gustavo and Juanita have no regard for other people's time. As someone who has worked in the wedding industry before, this is not the type of reputation I would want my business to have. read more
