I was always seen there by someone different--and not necessarily by doctors. By the end, my teeth were tilted inward; consequently, my face lost volume, I was left with almost very thin lips, and my tongue had less space, causing me to snore at night. My jaw joint was damaged. I told him I didn't like the result and asked what could be done; he replied with an arrogant attitude, insisting the results were beautiful, and they even sang a stupid song celebrating the end of the treatment. I visited a total of five orthodontists after that. I never mentioned "Taylor" to any of them, yet some of them asked if I had gone to David Taylor--a terrible sign. They all agreed that extracting my teeth hadn't been necessary. Finally--six years after starting with this person, Tylor, and just weeks after finishing a second treatment with a true professional--my appearance, face, teeth, and bite have improved compared to Taylor's treatment (he doesn't deserve the title "Dr."), though not 100%, since no one can give me back the extracted teeth and my jaw joint remains damaged. He exploits the ignorance of people who obviously don't know about orthodontics and markets himself using "good reviews" requesting from people in exchange for free teeth whitening treatments. Some people might even have had a bad outcome without realizing it... look for other opinions; don't settle for this person.

I asked if that was optional, they said yes, and I declined. I needed a second appointment (due to Dr. Beck's busy schedule that day) to have my filling completed. There was a touch of miscommunication about what time/day that would be, but again, the attitude of staff the entire time was to accommodate my schedule, not their own. This review is specifically with regards to the Brident Dental & Orthodontics establishment on South 10th Street in Mcallen, TX, not North 10th Street.

I had to get a crown a few weeks ago, so I scheduled an appointment. I had the dental work and a…read moretemporary crown put on and was scheduled to get the permanent crown in a couple of weeks. I had researched same day crowns but I found that they were not as strong as the ones that have to be custom made. The temporary crown was very strong and never came off. Dr Castillo fitted it just fine. Today I went back for the permanent crown. I opted to not have any pain killers and I didn't even need them!. Dr. Castillo did a wonderful job and made sure that my bite was correct. He is very meticulous in getting everything just right. Thanks to this dentist office for always taking time to explain everything. I am no longer afraid of going to the dentist!

I went to Dr. Castillo for SEVERE pain of a broken tooth that I let get out of hand because of…read moredental anxiety. The staff understood my hesitation and did everything to keep me calm. At intake, the nurse that took my X-rays explained everything and even kept my mind preoccupied by making side conversation and making me laugh. Once I was evaluated and spoke to Dr. Castillo he explained my options and how he would like to proceed. He explained my options and prescribed a heavy antibiotic and stronger pain medication because my infection was severe. After a week of medication, I was scheduled for an extraction and the staff continued to provide the best customer service. The front office kept me calm and the nurse checked on me regularly as I took a sedative for the anxiety. Although I don't remember much of the procedure, the healing process has been easy. I had minimal bleeding, minor pain, and almost back to normal 2 days later. I will continue to visit Dr. Castillo and his staff! I feel so much better about dental visits.
