My kids have been patients of Dr. Satterfield since 1998 and 2002. We hope he doesn't retire before they age out of his practice... it will be major adjustment to switch to an adult medical practitioner. We hope he will refer us to someone that they can easily transition to. read more

I feel like this office isn't getting enough good reviews. I have been taking both of my sons here they were both. They are now almost 3 years old and 4 years old. If you decide to bring your child here I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Sullivan. She is amazing. She takes her time every time, listens to all your questions and concerns, gives great advice, doesn't ever try and rush you out, and makes you feel so loved and cared for. My kids love her too! I wouldn't ever want to take them to anyone else. The nurses here are amazing as well and always give the best experience. You can tell they love working with kids and last but definitely not least, the front desk staff. They are so nice and loving. They know my kids by name without even looking at their schedule. It's our first time and new to the city and state. My son had an appointment at 2:00pm and we came in early and check in at 1:40pm. Waited and waited until 2:15 and finally followed up why my son wasn't called. Guess what...the person working didn't mark us as check-in?!? Finally, got called into the room and still waiting. On 9-23-22 I took my infant to an appointment he had at Atrium Heath Levine Children's office, Arboretum location, with Dr. Anitha Leonard. This office is located at 7800 Providence Rd #203, Charlotte, NC 28226. Dr. Leonard treated me with impatience and didn't seem to listen to me or care about my concerns. She let me know within the first 60 seconds of our appointment that her clinic would probably not be a good match for me since it was a vaccinating clinic. I was a little confused about that comment since we were there for a vaccination. She seemed to care more about critiquing my decision to trust my last pediatrician's advice (we recently moved out of state) than she did about providing quality care for my infant. Everything from the formula that we were told to use, to our choice to take one vaccine at a time was criticized. I know that these criticisms were more important than caring for my baby because they vaccinated my son with the incorrect vaccination. I asked for the Haemophilus infuenzae type b & the pneumococcal disease vaccines. ​Dr. Leonard waited until Tuesday morning, the 27th of September, to call and tell me that they had instead given him the PCV & DTAP vaccines instead. She admitted on the phone she knew this Saturday, and claimed it was no fault of her own. After the experience I had, I highly doubt that. She offered a snide apology and was just as condescending as she was when I was in her office. As a new North Carolina resident, a new customer of Atrium health, a new customer and patient of Dr. Leonard's, and a new mother, I had hoped for much more from my son's pediatrician. I am highly disappointed in the way my son was treated. I understand that accidents happen, but injecting an infant is a serious matter that clearly was treated lightly. I asked for his medical records and proof of what he was actually injected with via email, and I've yet to receive that, as of 9-29-22, at 8:45 AM, 6 days after the malpractice. read more

I have been using arboretum pediatrics since my first child was born over 25 years ago. It is with true sadness that I feel I must leave a negative review. While the Dr's at this office have been consistently caring the front office/reception staff has gone downhill. At my most recent visit I waited in line to check in while the only staff at the front desk was helping another patient check out. She was helping her with some paperwork which was very time consuming and never even bothered to check us in which is a much quicker process. She kept us waiting so long that when it was our turn she declared that since we were late she would need to check with the Dr to see if my daughter could be seen. When she came back she told us that the Dr didn't have time to see us. I explained that we had been waiting so long and that is what caused us to be late. She immediately got an attitude and started blaming me for not getting there earlier. This was a very important visit as she was leaving for college and would not be able to get back to see the Dr. while I do understand the importance of helping someone with paperwork I do not understand why she would not take a moment to look up when she heard the door chime so she could help facilitate timely check in and her attitude was completely unhelpful and unnecessary. I would think multi tasking would be a requirement for such a busy position. read more

We love Dr. Leonard! We've been seeing her since our babe was 2 days old and she's great. Love her laid back attitude and all of her nurses and staff are so friendly. Since becoming parents, knowing the value of a wonderful pediatrician is that of knowing a real-life Gandalf The Grey. Thus, it's no mystery that I'm about to say these folks are freaking magic. We've had a slew of normal appointments with Arbo Pediatrics and all have been so easy, relatively pain free for our son (and us), and relatively swift. The Pediatric Doctors and nurses we have seen have all been so genuinely nice to us and especially our son. They have all been cheerful, thorough, extremely helpful in understanding the wonderment of baby growth, and other simple pleasures of parenthood. Our most recent visit was that of the unplanned variety. Our son developed a bit of cold from who-knows-what and eventually turned into Croup (lots of nasty wheezing, coughing, barking sounds, and constricted airways). I called around lunchtime and one of the Pediatricians saw us just after 2pm. She a good look at our son, listened to his breathing, and suggested we go for a steroid shot to help with the inflammation in his esophagus. Within a matter of hours, his breathing had improved. No wheezing during his naps, and the next morning he was relatively normal. So thankful they were able to see him on such short notice AND help him with a swift recovery. Absolutely over the moon for this practice and so thankful for everything they have done for our son. Happy customers here. read more

Trust is imperative and Arboretum Pediatrics failed the test. I visited Arboretum Pediatrics for the first time yesterday and will never return. Trust was completely broken when immunizations were given to my child without any attempt to communicate with me for approval. I arrived five minutes after my child, let front desk know I was there, asked to go back, and was told they will call for me if needed. I expressed my concern with front desk about immunizations and was reassured someone would come get me. I waited over half an hour with no communication at all from any staff. My child walked out with completed paperwork and showed me the bandaid from the shot. I was never informed nor asked either verbally or in writing if they had permission to give my child a shot! This medical practice will not get a second chance with my family! Completely unacceptable! I hope this will serve as a fair warning of what to expect with how Arboretum Pediatrics handles the care of your child without your consent even when you are sitting in the lobby waiting and expecting them to confer with you about your child's care. read more

Very disappointed in the changes since it became Atrium. Dr pochick and dorsey are gone. The new nurses are still green and is obvious. They no longer give you an Aden anais swaddle blanket and book as a new patient. No more baby news bulletin when you go for your child wellness check. These small details along with the great doctors are sorely missed. read more

Choosing a pediatrician for your little one is like like choosing a potential spouse--it's no small task! You want someone who will be loving, caring, attentive, have time for you when you need them and make you feel special. While pregnant, I asked any and every mommy I came across who their pediatrician was and I consistently heard great things about Arboretum Peds. I have been very pleased working with them! They fit us in when our daughter was only two days old for her first appointment and we've never had trouble getting appointments. Our doctor is knowledgeable, gentle, and very kind. She definitely makes me feel she cares about my daughter and how things are working out for our new family. After our first doctor's visit we received a survey to ensure we received excellent service and were happy with our experience, which shows they are committed to their clients. The nursing staff and receptionists are always extremely friendly and kind as well. The nurses are so sweet and it is apparent they enjoy what they do as they giggle, coo and play peekaboo with my daughter during her checkups. The waiting rooms have plenty of toys and books for the little ones and they even have a separate waiting room for sick children to help avoid sharing germs, which is of course appreciated when you're bringing in a healthy four month old! Be prepared to spend some time in the waiting room prior to your appointment, but it's worth it for the best! read more

While the doctors are known for being fine, the front office staff is quite incompetent--they routines triple and quadruple book time slots so wait times are consistently at least an hour--NOT something you want when your child is in good health, let alone when they are sick. The staff also tends to be a very disorganized about scheduling--they told me an appointment was for January 23 for instance and they marked it on the calendar for April 23. There are enough pediatric practices in Charlotte--I'd suggest finding another one. read more
