We purchased 4 trees from Jerry, 2 died within a year. When I contacted Jerry to let him know he immediately accused us of not watering the trees. He asked no questions or offered any suggestions in fact he never offered any sort of effort to resolve the issue. He simply threw out various accusations and insults before ghosting me. AS mentioned in other reviews, Jerry is a very rude and unprofessional person and should not be involved with a business that has any dealings with people. I had an incident where debris from his truck fell off and broke the windshield on my vehicle. I am shocked at how rude the owner, Jerry, of Arbor Hills Tree Farm is and do not recommend anyone give him their business. I was recommended him by my neighbors, but they must have had a different experience than I did. I wanted to purchase a 5ft evergreen, but am disabled and don't drive so called to do it over the phone. The first time we spoke he very bluntly told me to email what I wanted and he would send me a quote. I sent an email, but didn't receive a response so called back a few days later to check he received it. When he answered and I explained that we'd spoken and emailed him as he asked and he YELLED at me that he wasn't answering emails, texts or phone messages. I'm super nice and really polite and was horrified at the way he shouted at me. I cannot understand how someone this rude and unprofessional is still in business. read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. They planted three large (4" trunk) maple trees in my yard, left the burlap and basket around the roots, and DID NOT LOOSEM OR EXTEND the roots like they were supposed to. Two arborist companies have looked at my dying trees and said that Arbor Hill did not plant them correctly, leading to root girdling and fused roots. I have asked for some sort of remuneration, Jerry has not even called me back. This is headed to small claims court now. I have never been spoken to as rudely as Jerry spoke to me today. He was absolutely VILE!! Told me to get my f'ing a** back to Woodbury and that I was a f'ing b****. Needless to say, I was more than shocked at this behavior. What caused this? I had to take a brief call from a surgeon to discuss a patient. The call took 2-3 minutes for which I apologized. Here is their comments: Comment from the Business Tree & stump was removed which requires heavy equipment & can pull up sod. Customer was not present so he is not aware of plywooding of yard and measures to minimize turf damage. Rootstructures can be large will take extreme force to remove. Tree was planted per horticultural & industry standards. Arbor Hill Tree Farm has provided great service for this customer as well as thousands of others for over 30 year. I believe this customer is fabricating petty grievances for financial gain. This business takes a 50% deposit, says the trees will be delivered in 6 weeks, then doesn't deliver and does not return repeated phone calls. Buyer beware, as they say... Our Home Owners Association requested an estimate for 3 trees to be planted and we received the estimate, which was higher than we wanted to spend at this time. We asked Jerry K for an updated estimate and to go ahead and schedule the 2 trees to be planted. His email response: "Great. I love indecisive people. Second estimate costs $100." As we felt this was rude and an unacceptable response, we responded - "Due to your response, Arbor Hill Tree Farm, is not the company our association would like to do business with. We will go with another company. Thank you for your time" His email response: "I'm so glad. Waste someone else's time not mine!" 15 years of running this association and I'm 60 years old, I've never dealt with someone this rude when attempting to hire them to do a service that they are in business for. Purchased 2 large trees from Arbor Hill Tree farm in late Fall of 2021. In the Spring of 2022 one of the trees had many branches that didnt leaf out. I tried calling and emailing Jerry the owner to bring this to his attention requesting that he honor their one year guarantee on all plant material. Apparently he was too busy to respond. Finally went directly to Arbor Hill Tree Farm where after speaking with Jerry he refused to provide a replacement accusing me of not properly caring for the tree. Never once did he come and personally meet with me to look at the tree. I have a college degree in Horticulture and extensive experience caring for newly planted trees. Long story short we ended up in small claims court where the Judge sided with me order Arbor Hill Tree Farm to reimburse me the full purchase price. In my 30 years working in the landcare industry I've never met a business owner as belligerent as Jerry. Nice enough when seeking your business but a jerk when it comes to honoring their one year guarantee. I've never written a review but felt it was worth the effort as it might be helpful to someone. My advice if you elect to buy from Arbor Hill Tree Farm, take lots of pictures and keep as much documentation as possible because you may end up in small claims court like I did. read more

My wife and I drove all the way out to Cottage Grove to select a Maple Tree from Arbor Hill Tree Farm. Jerry was reluctant to accept our purchase since we live in Maple Grove, I offered to pay more for a special trip if needed but left it up to him to delivery and install. He called in the utility marking, two weeks later I emailed him because we were having a new vinyl privacy fence installed and wanted to coordinate the tree install with the fence install since I wouldn't be able to remove one of the fence panels for access to our back yard. No reply to my email so I called and actually go him on the phone. I tried to explain the situation and he got really angry and said he was pulling the tag from the tree we selected and canceling the order and hung up the phone. I was trying to tell him we would pay extra for a special trip to MG before realizing he hung up. I have never dealt with anyone as inconsiderate and rude as Jerry Knutson. After reading the reviews I now understand as others have confirmed he is a rude and inconsiderate A** Hole!! Not sure why anyone would do business with him or how he even stays in business. I highly recommend anyone looking for trees to find a different tree farm, one who shows respect to potential buyers. read more

If you are looking for Christmas tree. DO NOT BUY IT HERE. The owners name should be SCROOGE. The owner is Rude, and DOES NOT STAND BY THE PRODUCT HE SELLS. My husband and I purchased a Christmas tree. Owner drilled hole in stump to make the tree sit in tree stand crooked. Would not let us return the tree, or even let us explain what the problem was. He kept hanging up on us, and then threaten to call the police on us. So my husband and I are left with a crooked tree, not even knowing if the ornaments will stay on. Everyone should explain to him that Christmas time is not the time to rip people off. read more
