When I booked, I was told the officer requirement would be at the manager's discretion. I communicated multiple times that my event would end by 6 PM. However, I was still required to pay for an officer through 10 PM, even though the event ended much earlier. While I understand policies are in place, this was unexpected and felt unfair based on prior communication. One policy to be aware of is that open flames are not allowed. I was able to adjust without issue, but it's something to plan for ahead of time. Overall, the space itself is nice, but I strongly recommend getting clear, written confirmation of all fees, policies, and requirements before booking to avoid surprises.

Upon arrival, we were informed that our reserved room was not ready because an air-conditioning leak had caused water damage and soiled the carpeting. This maintenance problem delayed our check-in and prevented the hotel from providing the room type we had reserved and paid for. Instead, we were downgraded to a room with one king bed, a sofa, and a pull-out bed. This was not equivalent to the double-queen room we selected, and the alternate sleeping arrangements were less comfortable and convenient for our party. Because the hotel was unable to honor our reservation, we reasonably requested a rate adjustment and asked that the general manager contact us. The general manager called us on Sunday, September 20. Unfortunately, rather than approaching the matter with professionalism and a genuine desire to resolve our concerns, she was defensive, dismissive, rude, and confrontational throughout the conversation. The general manager offered to move us into the original room--the same room that had experienced the air-conditioning malfunction and water leak. We declined because moving our belongings again would have caused further inconvenience, and we were understandably uncomfortable occupying a room that had recently sustained water damage and reportedly had soiled carpeting. The general manager initially agreed to provide a discount because of the room downgrade and inconvenience. However, after we declined to move into the water-damaged room, she withdrew the promised discount. Her tone became increasingly aggressive and unapproachable, and she abruptly ended the conversation without resolving our concerns. In addition to the room downgrade and poor handling of our complaint, the replacement room and common areas had several maintenance and cleanliness problems: The bathtub drained extremely slowly. The bathtub showed visible rust. The elevator was dirty. The carpeting throughout the property appeared dirty. A large commercial trash container was positioned directly outside our room. The overall condition and cleanliness of the accommodations fell below reasonable Holiday Inn Express and IHG standards. We were especially disappointed that the hotel's general manager--the person expected to demonstrate the highest level of hospitality and customer care--responded to legitimate concerns with hostility instead of professionalism. We made a reasonable request based on the hotel's inability to provide the room we reserved, yet we were treated as though we had caused the problem. We selected an IHG property because we expected clean accommodations, dependable service, and professional treatment. Regrettably, this stay failed to meet those expectations. We hope IHG will take this complaint seriously and resolve it in a fair and timely manner.

She asked about my vendor picking up the balloon arch tomorrow morning. I told her no, as I was already told that she can pick it up at 8. When I told the attendant that she didn't seem happy cause we "ended early." It wasn't as great as I thought it would be. They refused to give us a partial refund and the customer service wasn't great. They just want your money and don't want to provide quality customer service after their facilities weren't available. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, not even for a funeral. Don't waste your time.
