Awful experience with this group. I went in with some gastro issues and was told by the physician…read more(Dr. Liu) that I was due for a 10 year screening and he would bill it as such, which he did not. I knew my issues weren't anything a colonoscopy was going to diagnose and would have declined had he not said it would be submitted for my screening. I now owe thousands for a procedure that I would have never done if I had to pay for it. I called the billing office and the woman was so rude when I explained the situation and was told that the physician knows he cannot do that. I trusted what he told me, not knowing that even if you are due for a screening, it can still be charged otherwise. In addition, I had the procedure in the hospital and they were short staffed and were trying their best but as I sat waiting, everyone could hear the nurse on the phone talking to another floor about Christopher xxxx (she said his full name) and when was the last time he used cocaine so they could determine when he could come down for his colonoscopy, completely breaching patient confidentiality. Their office staff also accidentally called me to tell me that my insurance wasn't going to cover a prescription and when I told the woman that I don't think I had a prescription for that she paused, confirmed who she was calling (which was not me) and then apologized and said she dialed the wrong number.

This has to have been the rudest most unprofessional doctor I have ever met. He won't answer a…read moredirect question with a direct answer. You wait 40 minutes, put in a room to wait for him to come in. He opens the door, no hello how are you, and barks come with me. In the other room he sits facing the computer as if it is the patient, never makes eye contact, rushes, doesn't educate the slightest bit. I can't imagine what made him treat us so poorly. His answer to the question "what kind of fiber should be taken" was "any kind they are all the same". When I asked in return should it be soluble or insoluble he became angry and said said "you tell me doctor". He simply could have answered the question or educated the patient but he chose out right rudeness and unprofessionalism. I pray that this doctor who overbooks, rushes and has no patience for patient questions does not make a mistake that alters the course of someone's life. If you feel that kindness and compassion matters when choosing a doctor look else where.

All the bad reviews are spot on. The only reason I visited this practice was because my trusted…read moredoctor referred me. However, the experience has made me question everything. I went in for banding to treat a hemorrhoid, and the initial plan was to have three procedures done. But by the second procedure, Dr. Wazazz seemed completely unaware of my identity and had to ask which procedure we were on. He didn't even glance at my chart and kept asking which procedure this was. It was our fourth session, not the third, and I'm not sure what he did during that extra procedure. If there was any progress, it's been undone, as I've been bleeding for weeks. The whole experience felt disorganized, which made me incredibly nervous. I found it odd that he wanted me to continue with more procedures, and it feels like a money grab, especially since the treatment isn't working. This is aside from the fact that Dr. Wazazz had zero bedside manner and showed no respect for my privacy. I'd be undressed, and he'd open the door, allowing nurses in the waiting area to see directly into the room - completely unprofessional. The front desk staff consistently made booking errors, canceled appointments at the last minute without explanation or apology, and didn't provide any way to confirm whether my appointment was canceled. I'd show up the next morning, and they'd act like nothing happened. It was absurd. There's a clear lack of professionalism in this office. The question is, why are trusted healthcare providers referring patients to this subpar practice? It seems like money and kickbacks might be the motivation

I had my first colonoscopy performed by Dr Kevin Jo 5 years ago at Midstate Medical in Meriden CT…read moreand was quite pleased. I found Dr Jo to be informative, professional, and to have a nice bedside manner. The procedure went without a hitch, but unfortunately... I believe Connecticut GI has spoiled his well earned reputation. I received a message from someone who introduced themselves as being from Dr Jo's office for my 5 year colonoscopy. Although I was a bit surprised to be solicited for a medical procedure, I returned the call only to be greeted by an automated menu system for a place called Connecticut GI. Figuring I misdialed, I called back to get the same menu. I followed the prompts and got in touch with someone that said I could schedule with Dr Jo for my procedure. Upon scheduling, I was informed that the procedure would be at Connecticut GI in Wallingford and not at Midstate as before. I was skeptical about these changes, but trusted them to move forward (big mistake). I week prior to my appointment, I received a call from the Connecticut GI billing department to tell me my procedure was NOT covered by my insurance and I would have to pay out of pocket! I knew my health insurance paid for a colonoscopy so I asked why. I was told by someone named Joyce that because of my family's history of colon cancer (father more than 30 years ago) that my insurance would not pay for the procedure! I said "what the heck does my father have to do with my healthcare"? In which Joyce further explained that I had a couple polyps removed last time and because of that, insurances won't pay. She then went on to say that I needed to provide a deposit of $500.00 to secure the procedure and I would probably be paying $900.00 for the doctor, $1,000.00 for anesthesia, and any additional unforeseen lab costs! I was furious and decided to contact my healthcare insurance immediately. My healthcare insurance representative assured me colonoscopy procedures were in fact covered and that this made no sense at all. She decided to contact the person I was speaking to directly to see if there was a problem with coding. After an extensive phone ordeal, it turns out that I AM COVERED for the colonoscopy, but my healthcare insurance needed additional information from Connecticut GI to ensure that I would not be charged. The billing department was unable to provide this information, so we contacted the Wallingford location where the procedure was to take place. The Wallingford location was unable to provide the information as well. Since my insurance could not verify the necessary information with Connecticut GI to see if any provisions would be out-of-network... I immediately cancelled the procedure altogether. Due to being lied to, and for the unethical practices of Connecticut GI, I would not recommend them. If you chose to do so... do your due diligence and verify every procedural code with your healthcare insurance so you don't end up paying out of pocket unnecessarily.

Dr. Erstoff is an excellent doctor. Sees patients in a timely manner. He listens to your concerns…read moreand treats you with respect. The doctor has treated many of my family members over the years. Now that I have been to see him, he figured out an issue that had been bothering me for years that no on else could seem to figure out. He is also going to be doing further testing and I have to say that I trust him implicitly. He is just an all around amazing human being as well as doctor and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Very few times can going to the doctor be a happy experience but Dr. Ernstoff surely makes it as painfree as possible. I thank him and all of his staff.
