For me, the Aquasplash is a good childhood memory, my Proust's madeleine I wanted to relive. As an adult, the first moments there are a bit hard to swallow, a real caricature of the French Riviera: crowded (even in the morning, even in early September), expensive (the admission costs more than € 50 for two adults), everything comes with a fee (parking, lockers, the latter managed by a crappy computer system...), ubiquitous and oppressive policing, the smell of grease (the menu of the snacks inside the park is a dietary poem based on chips and chicken nuggets...)... You must be motivated (or want to make the most of your admission fee) in order not to freak out and run away as fast as possible.
And then, the magic happens again... we fall back into childhood and end up having fun like kids in the slides, wave pools... a lot of very nice, new attractions (especially Side Winder and Spaceboat) since my last memories, queues get a bit shorter by noon and you can do more.
Sure, it's a lot to swallow for the enjoyment of children or those who want to feel like one during the time of the visit, but you don't have to do that too often, and while the unpleasant details disappear quickly from your memory, you keep the good ones for long! read more
