I contacted APS Restorations of Montrose, CO and provided very specific and detailed info about what I needed, and the urgency (by what date it had to be completed). The owner, Troy Finch agreed to do the assessment, and although he didn't call me as he stated he would after assessment, I called him and he agreed (verbal contract) to do the work, making suggestions about exactly what work should be done and that he agreed to do (setting up fans, spraying anti-microbial) and said he would send someone over that afternoon to set up fans and spray the anti-microbial. He said it would be a minimal cost--approximately $100 for fans and spray in basement area. I told him to spray whatever was needed and I was authorizing him to do that. He even contacted the Property Manager, and made contact and an appointment with the Tenant to do the work Friday between 4 and 5. He says he went on Saturday without a scheduled appointment with Tenant even though he had contact info for the Tenant. (Who does this?)
So I am thinking that the work is done, and I wake up Tuesday to an email saying that he flaked out (my words)--didn't show up on Friday night as he promised and made an appointment to do. Then he says he showed up on Saturday unannounced or without an appointment and said the Tenants were not at home. I called him to ask why he would do such an unprofessional thing after making a verbal contract. His email says that he now wants to do a more thorough job which will cost $2000. So I think that he opted for the higher cost restoration jobs that must have come his way in the meantime. And to Hell with me, because it wasn't a complete disaster and I didn't respond favorably to his attempts to get thousands of dollars when only a smaller first step was required.
I understand he is a business man, but he must know that this will affect his reputation, and that I will tell everyone I know in Montrose about his "track record." read more
