Chris came back on 4/14/26 and fully assembled the dryer and got the old Maytag working great with a new motor and blower. No extra charges for the visit/labor. Also he checked my dishwasher and showed me how to clean the food trap and did a quick inspection. Excellent service and we really like Chris and Stellar Appliance Repair! I am old school and do not like discarding and buying new - Chris can work with older mechanical appliances and give you his best opinion on whether to save or replace.

I asked if he wanted to hear the sound. He did not. I left him to it. 35 or so minutes later, he said that he cleaned debris from the pumps, showed me a shard of glass, and when I listened to it running for a few seconds, the sound seemed to be gone. Great. Then he said it would be $245, his minimum labor charge. That sounded rather steep to me. He lowered it to $220 (after pretending to text a boss, which I don't think he has), but that was still more than I felt was fair for the work he did. The next time I ran a load of dishes the sound was there again. I emailed him, attaching a short video of the noise happening, and he wrote that he would come by to check it out. I asked for times that would work for him, and at that point he stopped replying. After that, I asked for a partial refund. Again, no response. I feel a bit ripped off, paying $220 when the problem wasn't even resolved. So, no, I cannot recommend Davyd/PDX Repair. I suggest looking for a more honorable, experienced appliance repair person, as I will the next time I need one.

He quickly located the problem, retrieved a replacement part from this truck and quickly installed the new part. Total bill: $235 (as opposed to spending up to $1,000 on a new machine). He worked very efficiently and gave me a detailed breakdown of what parts had failed, what would be involved in replacing it, how long it would take to get the needed parts, and exactly what the cost would be. When he returned with the needed parts a few days later, I asked if he could look at some issues we had with our kitchen stove, and he very kindly went over all the burners and the oven parts with me, going into the "innards" of the oven to diagnose in detail what was going on. He clearly explained what was going on with our clogged burners, clearing them on the spot, and showing me exactly what was going on with the main oven and broiler igniters (both of which clearly needed replacement; he took photos that showed exactly what was going on inside my oven). When it became clear that the broiler igniter was backordered, he went out on E-Bay to find one that could be delivered within a week. The full repair estimate was VERY reasonable and clearly conveyed to me - and it was less than half of what another appliance repair person had told us (without supporting details) when we tried to fix our stove before. For my fridge, I've had them replace heat coils and fans when a power out fried that component. This extended the life of my fridge. For my dishwasher, they replaced the motherboard and refunded it and the labor after determining there was an electrical issue that would have cost more to address than purchasing a new machine. The part took over a week to arrive via special order but the company kept me informed while we were waiting. As soon as the part arrived, we scheduled installation at a time that was convenient for me. On installation day, the tech called in advance to notify me of their anticipated arrival time. In trying to install the new part, it was determined that the issue was actually something related to the circuit board. Thankfully, the tech had a replacement version of the damaged part and installed it on the spot. I was then notified that the circuit board was much more expensive to replace but the tech honored the original estimate without any hesitation. We hired All Tech to repair a Samsung washing machine that had a drum that was no longer rotating…read more Ravi came out to diagnose the issue and quickly discovered that we needed a new controller PCB and sensor; he was able to source the sensor part himself, but the PCB model was apparently discontinued. After our own research, we discovered that Samsung had actually renumbered the PCB and we found a local part shop that had one available. Ravi came back out to install it and got our washing machine quickly working again. Ravi was very knowledgeable and friendly; he showed up promptly during the appointment windows too!
