By sending your child here, to Lake Castle, you are setting them up for self-esteem issues…read more Although the selling point is academics, you most probably have a child that is very smart to begin with. The teachers here will break them down, and not in a good way. My child as a first time preschool student was experiencing bullying from teachers starting on her first day, from no introduction, constant yelling and belittling. They do not get recesses, only sometimes a PE class. Neither the small kids nor the bigger kids can talk in class, at all. There is no social time excluding a small lunch. The teachers will smile in your face and act as if they're family, but once you leave their kids with them it's more of cult like culture behind closed doors. You are not allowed to enter the classrooms after the meet and greet. For small kids that cannot communicate well, it's even more difficult for them to tell you how their day was. They can't express just how terrible it is for their mental health and character to not be able to have a outlet all day. Even if you see the older kids in the morning, you can tell how meek and scared they seem. The teachers get a joy out of talking down to the kids starting from the first day. I'm so glad I pulled my child out before she could experience psychological issues at such a young age. My child was able to go on to a local preschool, and is thriving. The same assignments that were given there are given at this school. The programs they use, you can very well use at home, and your child will still thrive. The teachers are much nicer, my child is much happier. Think twice before sending your child here.

Our son who is in 7th grade will be following her with the same experience knowledge. Thank you for all you have done for our kids. One of the best-kept secret in New Orleans.

(my brutally honest opinion.)

I went here only two years, but those two years actually left lasting scars on my mental health…read morethat I can only now say that I've recovered from five years later. It is not a nurturing environment, it doesn't even try to be one. The only Alumni leaving 4-5 star reviews would be those in the A-class, the 'smart class' who were the only ones the teachers actually put effort into. Seriously. I remember doing the same math problem for an entire year in C-class while A-class children were learning Latin. That was the overall experience. If you're labeled a smart kid, they prepare you for highschool. If not, you will likely spend a good chunk of highschool paying for it. That's only on the value of the school's education. Ethically, this place was questionable as other reviews can attest to. As a child, a legal minor, I was told that I would be condemned to hell if I got an abortion, transitioned to a different gender, or voted Democrat. And that's just what I can recall five years later. That seems awfully religiously (and politically) motivated for a school that isn't officially affiliated with any religion. And this might seem like typical Catholic rhetoric, but we weren't actually taught anything you would actually learn in a religion class, I didn't see a Bible ONCE. We just had moral superiority and religious flavored threats shoved down our throats. After leaving this school I have been told that the incentive behind its founding in the 1963 was desegregation in Louisiana schools. Of course, the school would never admit to that and I'm not old enough to confirm it, but I would believe it after witnessing how many of my non-white or even non-Christian peers were treated. Socially? I witnessed on multiple occasions bullying and verbal altercations turn physically violent, and teachers never did anything to deescalate the situation or break the kids up. I don't personally know anyone who didn't have some form of social anxiety or awkwardness after leaving this school. The social environment is the human equivalent of broiler chickens pecking each other's feathers out due to stress. Don't send your children here. There are many better and more nurturing options out there. The public school districts around genuinely aren't bad enough for this to be an option. If an administrator is reading this, please treat these children better. They are kids, blank slates, and you aren't teaching or even encouraging them to be good people.

It took me a few days to figure out that I like this place. I thoroughly dislike the tacky…read more"Disneyesque" Margaritaville campgrounds popping up, and I feared this might be similar. But at the end of the day the only real problem was a group of local 40-somethings on TRT with their 3 pit bulls who were camping together in a group of 6. They basically hung out all day in lawn chairs getting hammered in the driveway section of their site (directly across from our site) basically just being d**ks. (there needs to be some sort of rule about pit bull kennels operating in a campsite)... But after they left, this RV campground became more calm and worth exploring and enjoying. There is a small lazy river, a large pool and a poolside bar. There is also a decent workout room available 24/7. The lakeside location of several camp sites was the draw for us, as was the evening entertainment while enjoying a few drinks. The campsites are all immaculate full hookup with excellent concrete pads. There are both back in and pull-throughs to accommodate most size rigs. It's only about an hour to New Orleans, so a sight-seeing trip there is easy to do. Very convenient to the I-10. Glad we stayed and we'd likely stay again when passing through.

The campground was nice, clean & pretty. We didn't use any of the extra amenities (golf, pool,…read morebeach, etc.) but they seemed really nice. The staff was very nice but not super informative (failed to give adequate info at check-in) or knowledgeable about the area (we needed an RV part and they weren't helpful even though there was two large RV stores very nearby). Our campsite was concrete with a patio, not level side to side. It rained quite a bit while we were there and there was a literal swamp completely surrounding our site. You couldn't get to the basement on the side or to the hookups without standing in water. The roads were fairly easy to navigate but many people parked out in the road which made it difficult to maneuver in the RV when leaving.
