Pretty bad experience this morning/afternoon. I called before leaving my apartment to see if I needed an appointment, and they told me to come on over. I get there and there's a sign on the door saying don't come in, call. I call to say I'm outside, and they tell me someone will be out eventually. 10-15 minutes until someone comes outside. At this point a line has built up. They have the five of us come inside, and they send us upstairs to wait in a tiny room. It was another 30 minutes until they finally had us come down, and take out insurance information. Finally they let me know that they don't take my insurance, and a COIVD test is apparently $125. I understand being busy, but they really should have warned me when I called that it'd be an hour before they'd even take my insurance information. I also cannot believe that a medical office packed us all into a small room for such a long time, with one woman showing symptoms. read more

Terrible humans at their front desk. They have no sense of decency or politeness. Don't bother going here they will berate you and shame you for asking an innocent question. Even the doctor has questionable biases. Worst urgent care to go to. You are better off staying home sick or going to another one. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about this clinic. Went for an impromptu COVID test. Everyone was kind, efficient, and readily addressed my concerns. Got my results back when stated. I live in Manhattan but happy to return there for any concerns. read more

The staff is unfriendly and professional. You can tell they hate their jobs. No friendly greeting. Bad communication to where you are just left standing there. Staff are talking unprofessionally within earshot of customers/patients about functionings of the office. Not helpful at all. Will never go back.They also were not paying attention to the filled out forms area noting that the patient is a minor so had redo the chart. They do not want to give excuse notes so will delegate to each other back and forth to not do it. No one wants to do their job there and are bothered by making faces at you when you ask and talking about you within earshot. I read more

Only saw the doctor a few minutes as he had to refer me to a specialist. He took the time to refer me to someone but he also called to see if i could get same day appointment which i was able to get I did appreciate the extra mile as he could have just given me the number and sent me on my way. I arrived to the site at 4:27pm. I am not sick, desire testing for traveling purposes. I stood outside for over an hour in the cold. At 6:07pm, receptionist notifies me that my insurance is not excepted and a COVID test is $60. I said I will NOT pay for a test when I can get it for free. The lady in charge(dark hair, light skin, very skinny) recommended me to say I have symptoms or was exposed, so I can get the test for free. LIES! I look stupid. How ridiculous is it to suggest someone lie for a test. By saying that, it gets recorded and now I will be on 14 day quarantine for a LIE. She also recommended me taking the test and them "trying" my insurance. If it doesn't go through, they will bill me. I walked out and left. Have been a patient there pre Covid so I know how they are. The office is a good alternative when you primary has no openings and you need to see a doctor. Prior to Covid I have all good things to say about Applemed. Since Covid I have visited this office twice and that is why they received 3 stars. On my last visit we are made to wait outside for over 1 hour. The process is not explained: 1 Covid test are done 9-12 and 3-6 (call to confirm this info). After 6p their are appointments for none Covid things. Rapid testing is $125 no insurance is accepted for it. They tell you Covid test is free but it is not. If your insurance is accepted you just have no co-pay; but they do bill your insurance for the Covid test and that is why they triage you. I don't like the older doctor (don't recall his name) he is a bit too pushy. The staff are not rude just overwhelmed because the doctor is lazy. read more

NP Gaveral Douglas is rude, obnoxious and unprofessional. Not only did she not know how to count 48 hours for a PPD assuming I was late. When in fact it had only been 50hours post implantation of PPD. She me feel like she was doing me a "favor" signing off on my paper work. Literally her exact words. Doing me a favor. Lmfao. Do your patients a favor and learn to count and tell time. It's sad because the physician who completed my physical was a lovely man, patient and kind. Do the practice a favor and get rid of her. The staff is beyond rude. I went for a COVID-19 test and was told to wait outside. I waited outside in the cold for an hour before someone came out and gave me a form to fill out and told me to go wait in my car for a phone call from them. After waiting 2 hours for the call, I decided to go elsewhere to get my test. Worse service ever! read more

Terribly run business. I brought my girls for COVID testing. We were told 45 minutes. Then one h 40 minutes later we were still not registered. The front desk staff was rude and had an attitude when I inquired about when we would be seen. I will NEVER NEVER come here again. read more

The doctors are very nice people, but the lady that answers the phone is extremely rude, Worst costumer service through the phone, if you ever called unemployment, this lady is just as rude as they are. 3 stars based off of 2 experiences. The first was very positive. I was in and out quickly and the treating PA was great; very helpful and made sure the Rx she chose complied with my allergies and even helped me to get sample sizes when the pharmacy needed a full day to fill the Rx (it was a pretty bad burn so I wanted to have treatment fairly quickly). The clinic itself is very clean and modern. This visit would be 5/5. The 2nd visit didn't go as well because even though I showed up 15-20 mins before closing, the door was locked. It looked like some lights were on inside so I tried to call but it just rang out. Closing before posted close time loses this clinic 2 stars. read more

This urgent care does not close at 8pm. They actually close at 7:30, so if you are running late from work don't even try to get there by 8. They will say sorry not sorry, come back tomorrow at 9am. No other options for other urgent care facilities- not so "urgent" and also don't seem to care. read more

9am is when the doors open but they don't start working until 9:30 or whenever. After having personal conversation leaving patients waiting at the window while there backs are facing us. It shouldn't be many people waiting in a small waiting area. They have a nerve to have an attitude. My opinion ..... you need a new job if you don't have good customer service skills. read more

Worst urgent care I have ever experienced in my life. Brought my 92 year old mother here to be seen and was immediately approached with malice. The receptionist looked at us and rolled her eyes. No hello how can I help you, nothing. The other receptionist immediately jumped up and said "no no we don't do covid testing here". Mind you at that point all I had said was hello. I was made to feel unwelcome and I did not feel comfortable having my mother treated at this facility. I immediately left and found another urgent care to bring my mother to. This was my first and last time ever stepping foot in this urgent care. Employees were extremely unprofessional and not welcoming to say the least. Just flat out rude! The office manager and one of the doctors called my partner a liar for coming in asking for a Covid test after receiving a positive on an at-home test. My partner reported shortness of breath because they had to walk 20 minutes in high heat & humidity to get there and were not even offered a test. They were told to take a lyft to leave and go to the hospital. When my partner suggested that was unwise (hello exposure), they said to call family, but my partner a) doesn't have family available to take them and b) would not want to expose family. They were too sick to keep walking and yet the urgent care wasn't staffed to just give them a test so they could then walk home instead of walking all over the place. They were treated badly, told they were a liar. I called to ask questions, was talked over numerously, interrupted, and yelled at by the office manager who said my partner was not being truthful with me. This is very unprofessional. This office manager transferred me to the doctor and I asked him how my partner could be taken care of. The office manager was in the background and insisted that yelling didn't happen and kept talking about a "recorded phone call" and that all calls are recorded. That is a gross violation - calls should not be recorded and there was never any time that there was indication that they were. She started yelling in the background and talking over me and I said I didn't want to talk to her and she screamed so I said to stop yelling in my ear and they hung up on me. I filed a complaint with the Department of Health and Human Services. My partner is a trans person of color. They treated them like garbage and misgendered them also and tossed a sick person on the street. Literally. read more

We went to this Urgent Care with complaints of a cough that had lingered for four months along with a bad upper respiratory infection. We were treated by Dr. David L. Burns who prescribed antibiotics and over the counter cough medicine. After taking the antibiotic for several days, I was informed it received an FDA Black Box warning (which signifies a serious hazard). At no point in time did the doctor state this important information during my appointment. In fact, when I asked if this medication was safe he stated it was "safe", noting only one uncommon side effect. If he had informed me of the FDA Black Box warning, I would have immediately discussed alternatives. The over the counter cough syrup (for a child) contained the unhealthy ingredient methylparaben and didn't do anything for our cough... read more

With my luck, of course I got sick over the weekend when my pcp is closed and normally I would wait, but my symptoms were getting progressively worse and I was having trouble breathing... I wanted to avoid being rushed to the ER like I have in the past, so I figured I'd catch it before it got out of hand. I took myself to AppleMed Urgent Care on Saturday.... and at 7:00pm they were CLOSED! When both the website and hours on the door said otherwise, 8:00pm. No big deal, I'm a pretty lenient person. So I came back the next afternoon... I was the only one there, so after the woman at the front desk/ nurse checked me in I was taken directly to a room. She was very sweet and asked me a few questions, you know... like every other doctor/hospital triages you first. I mentioned that I had had strep 2 weeks prior, so the nurse was told to run a strep test, before even seeing the doctor, which I thought was strange. Finally, the doctor comes in. I don't even recall her name, I'm not sure if she even gave it to me, but she was in and out so quickly. She barely even looked at me before stating that it will go away on it's own and I could go to work, just drink lots of water (duh, anyone who has ever gotten sick would know that.) Now, I'm no doctor, but in my experience each time I've had what I have... it was bronchitis and I tried to tell her that. I left there feeling annoyed because I was sick and had no solution, but to wait to see if it got better on it's own.... MAYBE! Well a few days have gone by and almost not being able to breath I brought myself to a different doctor and I do in fact have Bronchitis and was sent home with meds. Only a few hours later and I already feel better. Just make sure you call ahead to see if they're open or yore going to waste your time. Also, make sure the doctor actually looks at your problem area or you'll leave with a diagnosis that could cause you more harm in the long run . Honestly, I wouldn't recommend going here, at least on the weekend, because although the initial service was great, the doctor was not. Beware. The service was just ok but what was worse was when they strongly referred us to a nearby pharmacy which appears to have over-priced our prescription and then failed to deliver. I do not know if they received kick-backs but beware. read more
