Best experience we have ever had at a chain restaurant. This was a celebratory dinner for my husband and I and thought we were "setting for Applebees" versus a nice restaurant because it was very late at night and needed to eat. WELL, this was not a "settled on" restaurant. I have never had food SO good, so hot, so flavorful and so fresh at any Applebees or even any other chain restaurant. My husband got a bourbon mushroom swiss burger and we agreed it was probably one of the best burgers we have ever had. I got a bourbon street shrimp & sausage pasta and it was phenomenal. All flavors blended perfect, everything was fresh and hot throughout our whole meal. The attention to detail in everything that was made for us was very impressive. My husband and I both had a very good meal, could not complain. On top of that, our server, Kiara, was awesome!!! She was so nice from the very beginning and always came back to our table with a smile. She made sure we were taken care of and didn't forget a single thing we asked for. As i was taking my last sip of water, there she was with another full glass and a smile!! My husband said he usually has to remind every server about a side of ranch (or whatever dressing) a couple times before they finally bring it. Kiara, however, made sure his (very treasured) side of ranch was on his plate ready to go as it came out. A very small detail that will stick with my husband for a while lol. Just awful. First I did takeout and they doubled the ordered and when I i tried to tell them they argued with me. I know what I ordered for two people. It took 15 minutes and a manage to straighten that out. The girl who was arguing with me couldn't possibly do anything because her nails were so long. Finally, I left with my food. Got home and my well done burger was raw. I called and the manager and a lengthy discussion did credit my card. I think, it hasn't shown up on my statement yet. The raw burger has ruined Applebee's for me. I will not be back to any Applebee's. read more

A group of my family and friends met at Applebee's in O'Fallon, IL. last Friday evening around 4pm, Oct, 27th. It was also Dolla-rita night too.There were about 8 or 9 of us all together. I ordered a Mexican type salad with lots of grilled chicken on top and it was delicious, everyone else enjoyed their dinner too, but I tell you we had Sam, (tall, good looking guy) as our waiter and he was EXCELLENT!!! He had the nicest personality, was very informative and ON TIME with our meals. As the evening progressed, it became a little busier and so did Sam, he was all over the place working his --- off and doing a hell of a job! We all agreed that Sam needed a NICE tip, ok? It was actually good I'd rather have noodles then rice but it was different and no something I expect from Applebee's chain. I took one of my employees to lunch and let him choose and he chose Applebee's. Honestly I hadn't been in a number of years and had no idea what to expect. There was a page of the menu where you could create your own sampler with a variety of appetizers, soups, and salads. I chose the 3 item sampler for $12. I ordered the Caesar salad, creamy tomato soup, and mozzarella sticks. It sounded like a lot of food. When it came it was not. The Caesar salad was very crisp and served on a chilled plate but there was maybe 1 cup of salad. The soup was barely room temperature and after 2 bites I didn't eat anymore. There were 4 mozzarella sticks on a plate with a thimble of marinara sauce and that was it. I didn't leave hungry but I think a $12 lunch elsewhere would have been a lot more food. My lunch date ordered a burger he was happy with. They have the little screen on the table where you can pay without calling over the waiter so that's what I did since we had already seen him about 32 times during our short lunch. Tired after driving 14 hours from Colorado we chose Applebee's because of the reliable food and fast service. We were so very wrong ! Do not go here unless they get staff and management that care. Upon arrival no hostess to be seen, then we see her jump up from a table to help. It was a slow night inside so she was lazy but okay, it should've been a warning bell. She seats us and tells us someone will be with us shortly. Four different waitstaff passed our table, not one acknowledged our presence. 15 minutes later we chose to leave and get something to eat anywhere else. We informed the hostess why and told her we were going to write a review. With the number of restaurants competing for business within a half mile Applebee's better step it up or close their doors at this location (Shiloh/O'Fallon, IL) read more

Another great place to get trapped behind endless military folks sense they rarely know how to cook on weekends if at all...If you love waiting an hour to get seated around 5-7pm then you'll love it... I'm just not impressed with this menu but it's the usual chain restaurant with an overgrown customer base in the area... I really need to move soon lol read more

Our server Carrie was very friendly and on top of delivering our order and refilling our drinks. The sweet chili wings were delicious. I got the 6 oz sirloin, garlic mashed potatoes, and garlic green beans. The meal was hot and what'd you'd expect from an Applebee's. I came in at 1045 last night, nobody was near the door where i had to wait for 10 mins for someone to acknowledge me. They took me sat me down directly under a speaker that was blaring when the restaurant had 5 people in the whole place. I placed my drink order and my food at the same because the young lady took so long to come over. I received my drinks and shortly my food came out and that was all i saw of my waitress. No call backs until my plates were empty and the bill came. Never got my refill or asked if the food was ok. I've had the same experience here now on multiple occasions and im not sure anything will change. read more

Disgusting! Very dirty place to eat at! I've tried this location a couple times and each time was a bad experience. Not necessarily service but the food. How can a hot plate be cold? My wife recently ordered online and received a confirmation that the food would be ready about 25 minutes later. With it being a 20 minute drive I went ahead and left a bit early to make sure I was there when it was ready. I went ahead and called when I arrived as a courtesy. The confused hostess got the manager on the phone and when I explained that I was there to pick up food and was a bit early he was nothing but rude. He told me that there was no online order for food there and he would call me back. He called back about 5 minutes later and told me the order just came in. He went on to say maybe I should be more patient in the future and his tone was nothing short of nasty. About 20 minutes later the food comes out. I asked the employee if it was a rough night and she said that working with the manager it was always a rough night. She said he treats all employees like crap and employees have pointed this out to him before. No excuse for this type of attitude. We will not be going back again. read more

We decided to give Applebees a try for the first time in years. Food was tasty, drinks were good. Service was very slow (15 min seating wait and 20+ for food). My soup never arrived and my husband chipped a tooth eating a sandwich that had a piece of bone in it. Probably won't come back-54 across the street is just so much better! read more

This was my home Applebees, it was close to home/work and all that. I love Applebees, but apparently I attract the slow servers here. There has been 2 out of probably 30 times that I haven't had slow service. This last time (I wish I could find his name) our waiter was so slow that he served us drinks AFTER our food. Never was even offered a refill, even though we were so busy eating 45 minutes later after we ordered. Luckily, I had a job where they didn't freak out if we were late from lunch. An hour and a half lunch at Applebees a little ridiculous. Overall I love this applebees setup. Their menu is good (as long as they don't burn your food) and it's not a bad price. This one just needs to get their stuff together or they will be as bad as the Fairview Heights location. read more

It's a chain restaurant but it's a good chain restaurant. The Quesadilla Burger is very delicious. They have a strawberry long island ice tea that tastes like kool-aid that is good and their raspberry long island is also another great drink. The 3 cheese penne pasta is another tasty dish. Got here around noon and the hostess was friendly. Waitress was okay, but the food was horrible, the wrap that I ordered was coming apart because they don't cook the tortilla. Then they served me a sad with wilted lettuce. The dish my mom ordered was subpar. I won't be returning and highly doubt I visit another Applebees. read more
