Let me tell you, this location is about to get shut down - and very soon at that. Food and drink service were slow. You know it's a problem when the waiter gives a disclaimer the drink service is slow and she's new. Thanks ig? Food wasn't even hot all the way through and could tell by the temperature of the food which was served first vs. last meal served on the plate. This also happened to a table next to us and told their waiter that the cheese on the skillet was melted lol they walked out and I should have too! I want to reflect on my visit to Applebee's on Bullsboro Drive in Newnan on 4/8/26. As we walked in the place was sparsely filled. There were all white patrons we were the only blacks at that time. To start all heads turned, I said wow what is there to look at. Then there was no one at the hostess stand so we stood there for a few mintues. While we were standing there the hairs on my arms started lifting. There were three elderly white patrons sitting at the bar. Two female and one male. I could overhear the man talking and could only gather that he was referring to crime ( I am not sure of what nature but I do believe he referenced non-whites). I immediately told my daughter I think I am going to hear something I don't want to hear. And not even a minute later the white male said very loudly "they can solve this by just getting some rope, making a noose and hanging 4-5 of them"! By this time a server/hostess had come to seat us and she heard the same thing and was very apologetic. I let her know his ignorance was not her fault. I grappled with whether to stay because if he kept it up I was ready for it but I had my young grandsons and did not want them to be exposed to the foolishness. He said a few more silly things and then said "let me get out of here the police are already looking for me". As per the waitress he is a regular and says disparaging things almost everytime he is there. Now to comment on the post that "Rex S." made on 4/1/26 about not coming to this spot if you are white, there is no surpise why black servers would feel some kind of way if there are more people like that racist man who was there on 4/8. That is not to say all whites are racist but I would venture to say that they have probably experienced a lot of it there in good ol Newnan GA. Service wise, we had Tameka training Chris. Tameka did an excellent job of making us feel comfortable after all of that nonsense. She was also very patient with Chris as it was his third day training, I believe. Food wise the onion rings I ordered were amazing and everyone else enjoyed what they ordered. Needless to say there is no reason for me to ever stop in Newnan again when I leave Buckhead to go south of Atlanta. If Applebees wants to keep some good rapport with customers of all ethnicities everyone should be treated equally the same and that is like good paying customers coming to support their business and get a good meal. I recently visited Applebee's and had a disappointing experience. I ordered a burger and asked for pepper jack cheese, but it came out without it. I had to send it back just to have the cheese added, which was frustrating, and the food overall wasn't very good. The service was just okay, but what really bothered me happened when I got the bill. The server asked if I wanted to leave a tip, and when I said yes, she selected the highest tip option herself instead of letting me choose. I've never had that happen before, and it felt very inappropriate. Because of this experience, I don't plan on returning. read more

Racist! The seater, when I was asking for a table for three, said she had to seat these people first really rudely, and I said ok that's fine. We were waiting 6 or 7 minutes while she was digging in a bin under the podium for this kid that was with the people she just sat. 6 minutes later she gives him something like candy or toys, and went to seat him at his table with his family. She was talking to them for 3 more minutes and came to seat us. After she sat us, now here's the racist part, she past the waitress, and said sorry, the waitress said to her for what? Went in for lunch at 1:15. I sat at the bar waited a few minutes and the bar tender comes around the corner ask my what I want to drink then disappears. She brings me my drink gets my order, when I ask for no salt on my fries she lets out a big sigh. No to much longer my food comes out, I ask for some extra sauce that comes with the wrap, again another sign but this time she turns around and mumbles a few things like I was bothering her. There were only 2 other people at the bar and one guy just had a beer and no food. But, she did get awful friendly when it was time to pay. They claimed "oh our system has changed we issued a refund but corporate has to issue it." In this case it's theft y'all didn't wanna do this the simple way . We came in the morning and the service was fast and very kind. It was very clean inside and fairly quiet. The food was delicious.

The service is consistently poor. We waited almost 50 minutes to get the special they have advertised. It took forever to get drinks, we had to ask for straws; when we were served our food, sides were missing. It appeared that the ones who were working were hiding in the back. The hostess was following one of the waitresses around. Our waitress was doing the drive up orders plus waiting one whole side of the restaurant. None of her tables were bussed the whole hour and a half we were there. An older white haired lady came in around 530, apparently was the manager on duty, we couldn't tell really, not only her, but not a single person wore a name badge. The older lady just leaned on a chair or table intermittently and watched the bartender/chatted. None of this walking the area and asking patrons how was everything. She looked too tired to move or care. It was the last time we will be visiting an Applebee's. I wouldn't be surprised if Applebee's goes out of business soon with this mindset. There are so many other options to eat and have a nice dining experience, but we were intrigued by the promo and thought we'd try. We're cured of that though! read more

Took my son here Wednesday night. Food was by far worst I have ever had at an Applebee's. The people next to us had their food burned. My son's steak was burned on the outside but uncooked on the inside. It probably wasn't thawed out before thrown in oven. Everything on the plate was sloppy like a child put it together. The service was nice and mostly friendly, however, our original waiter, who ended up being moved to another table before we ordered our food completely lied to the manager and our new waitress about mentioning a drink to us. A flyer on the table said that if we weren't recommended one of the margaritas, then we got a free appetizer. Neither waiter recommended so we asked the new waitress. She went and asked the original, he walked over and claimed he recommended every drink on the flyer. A lie. A lie so he wouldn't have to be held responsible for an appetizer. The new waitress was very apologetic and offered another appetizer. The marinara tasted freezer burnt. The riblets tasted freezer burnt. The chicken fingers were something you'd find in a frozen meal at the grocery store. The fries were cold, hard, and completely covered in seasoning. They had cool tablets for every table to order food, call your waiter, and play games. But you could only order appetizers (and desserts) and by the time you looked at it, you might as well just tell the waiter your appetizer order. It also cost $0.99 to play the games. My wife and I wanted a nice dinner at around 9pm Sat night- Applebees in Newnan said they were open until 1am so we went. I wish I could tell you about it but I can't. We and about 6-7 other people sat in the waiting area for 15-20 min and were NEVER EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED, far less asked to sit or even put on a list. No contact with restaurant personnel AT ALL. Restaurant looked perhaps 1/3 full and no one even spoke to anyone in that waiting area. So we left. I know too well that all businesses have trouble finding people who will actually WORK or even apply - but THIS, for a restaurant on a Saturday night, is RIDICULOUS. After I found the mystery substance, my party of 3 was told that they had run out of ribs...which is an Applebee's signature item. We asked the manager to come out, and she did. I dont frequent Applebees but I've never had a bad experience until Sat. night. The vodka selection was very limited. We ordered the pretzel app and when they brought the pretzel they told us they were out of cheese and cooking some more. A couple of minutes later a waiter brings out a small condition. cup half full and tells they are rationing the cheese. We say something to the manager and she seems uninterested. We asked for things on our salads which didn't come with them. Our food came and the presentation was awful, I think it was rationed also. It was delicious but the experience we had so far didn't let me enjoy it. While we waited and ate, there were several tables that left when they were done and those tables still had dirty dishes on them when we left.
