Average Applebee's location. Food quality was standard Applebee's and for that it was yummy. You always know what you are getting. Decent bar food and great pricing. We visited this location during the LSU/Clemson championship game. We were there for the entire first half of the game. I get that everyone was excited for the game but on Atleast three occasions, we looked around the restaurant and ALL employees, including bartenders and servers were standing in front of the back tvs and watching the game. Our waitress wasn't focused on our table at all and provided basically non existent service. Again- I get the excitement but the game did have commercials.. We got all of our food at once- spinach artichoke dip, French onion soup and burger. The spinach artichoke dip was excellent as always but most chips were so greasy and soggy. The French onion soup was cold. The cheese wasn't melted on top at all, when we flipped it over you could still see that it was three different pieces of cheese. The waitress took it back and off our check. The burger was great. Cooked to our liking! We had an up charge of 1.50 for onion rings instead of fries and they were crispy and cooked great too. My wife and I have been going to Applebee's Grill and Bar for about the past three years. The service and the food has been satisfactory. It has a good variety of food to choose from. But most of this year we have fond the music to be very loud and seemly catering to only the Black patrons only. The restaurant has a variety different races and ethnic groups in there at all the times, we have visited, they play music by black artist only, and is extremely loud. We have complained about this, as well as others, while we were there.We will not be going back there in the future. We enjoy all types of music, but not exclusively, only one kind. I've mostly have had great experiences here I would strongly recommend getting the grilled shrimp or chicken it is to die for. The reason I'm giving it a four star is because I received some of my food cold. I like my food to taste like it just came off the grill but I had to eat my steak cold. Steak unevenly cook over cooked on the side they served up barely touch the grille on the bottom, broccoli was ok, the 4 cheese Mac with bacon was ok. Now that shrimp what the actual hell, the shrimp was tough it was firmer than my steak for a moment I thought it might have been in a damn shell. My server to the rescue, he quickly apologized about the shrimp quickly asking if I wanted if replaced or removed from the bill. Now let's talk environment. I get it's a sports bar. I have a strong feeling that this was done intentionally, I worked for Applebee's for two days and my second day I quit because I received racists comments from the mangers kids, and I was disrespected by the manager also. I ordered food and it wasn't cooked right or seasoned, I politely asked him to take it to the back and he told me that he couldn't do that because I was a trainee and that It was a trainee meal, after he said that I told him that I'm not eating it and I'm not paying for it, he seriously had an attitude and told me "well don't eat it then" and walked away, so I left without paying for my food also. My steaks was partially under cooked I ask for medium rare. I ask politely if it could be cooked just little longer. It came back like they swept the floor on it and burned a charcoal crust on it, then hair was placed in my mashed potatoes, I completely disgusted with such lack or pride and effort with this restaurant. We went to Applebees tonite about 7pm. we were seated with no menus , silverware are anything. As we sat and waited for our server, no one came.. We watched 2 female employess standing at a table eating.. After a few minutes one of them walked accross the room and talked to some other people. The girl at the bar was on her phone. I and two other friends and a child ate here today for lunch. I ended up waiting an extra 10 minutes after my friends were served because the server missed my food. The food was good, the service wasn't. I tipped the waitress because she at least tried. I asked when she finally brought our drinks a few minutes after they sat on the bar for some lemons.....25 minutes later someone else was with her behind the bar and my husband asked that woman. She immediately handed me some! So grateful!! (The whole time the bar tender was frantically acting like the place was slammed and there was literally no one in the restaurant. Finally 45 minutes after ordering two Caeser Salads our food came out. No croutons and no bread. At this point my husbands beer had been empty for forever. My drink was nearly undrinkable from being so bad we just ate and left. We won't be back and now we see why it was so empty and the surrounding restaurants booming with people. Or they just decided to not hire someone who knew how to do such things? And then 2 waiters and a manager still not able to get poo-poo done up there? Really?!!! When I travel I really, really, really don't like dining at chain places. However, after circling around 4 times looking for the local place I found on yelp, still open at 9pm, with no luck, I dashed in here y avoid fast food rescue. It was just me, it was late, and I wanted some company, so I sat at the bar. The bartender was quick to acknowledge me, which is nice because it can be rare, and bring me a menu. After a little chat about beverage options with her, I ordered the berry burbon, don't think that is the official name though. It was very good. I was a happy camper at her recommendation. For dinner I ordered the steak and roasted red potatoes. They were good, not great, but what you woukd expect from a chain of this nature. The bar area was busy, but the nice level was decent. I was able to read my book sipping on a cocktail, which was nice. They also have tvs around the bar area so there was never a question of the games score. Let me preface this by saying that all in all, I've never liked Applebee's. However, myself and three of my coworkers had just gotten off and decided we should all go out to eat. We all work at another restaurant and though we knew it might be a bit annoying to go in an hour before closing time, there weren't any other options. Staff was very friendly and showed no signs of irritation from us coming in so late--something that we as servers appreciated deeply. I cannot for the sake of my own life remember our server's name but she was incredibly nice, though fairly new. For our appetizer we ordered Wong Tong Tacos(or whatever they're called) and WOW, were they a hit! My buddy kept talking them up so I was quite skeptical but they really are worth it. They also came out quickly. Other coworker ordered a Long Island Iced Tea, which she insisted was the best she'd ever had. She even got a second, though it was a tad too much, haha. Only complaint, which is what stops this from being a five star review, is that our food took pretty long to come out. Between us getting our drinks and getting our meals it was about 40 minutes. At 11:00pm and when they probably only had one grill cook and for a party of four, 20 minutes would've been expected. 30 minutes would've been a bit long. 40 was pushing it. However, it's a sit down restaurant so it's totally unreasonable to expect it to be put in and taken out in less than 15. At any rate, when the food finally arrived it was pretty good. This place has the worst customer service. I placed a Togo order and they said it would be 30-40 minutes. I arrived an hour later just to make sure I wouldn't have to wait that long. Needless to say there was three people at the Togo desk but not one would acknowledge me. 15 minutes later I asked the bartender if I could talk to the manager and he went and got him and came back and said he will be out in a minute. 25 minutes later he has not came out and not one person asked if any of the people waiting had been helped. People who came in long after us, were seated ahead of us (they had no reservations). They were understaffed for the holiday weekend. When we finally got the chance to order, our appetizer came out two minutes ahead of our meal. We observed a few employees standing around doing nothing, instead of helping to clear tables, while customers waited in the already cramped waiting area. I love Applebee's but the curbside Service is not good. Why offer curbside Service when they they take the food to your car. There were several employees going in and out of the door going to cars talking to their friends. I got a email stating my Food would be ready at 1:48, I waited and waited and nothing so I went in at 2 pm stood at the bar for about 10 minutes. And there were several employees standing around doing nothing. Then the bartender went to the back and got my food.
