All Apple stores are more or less the same but with varying abilities of staff. Geneva is no exception, all be it that sometimes I feel the staff, which changes every month it seems, sometimes have less knowledge that I do. Anyway, as Apple is mega-popular in Switzerland, certain times of the day this place can be a zoo. If you need technical help, book by phone and expect to wait 15 to 30 minutes longer than your reserved time-slot before you get your appointment. read more

What can I say. I wanted an apple store so bad... but they built it right where one of the last high profile independent cinemas was located :-( As an apple store it is pretty small. It means it is very crowded and a little dirty a lot of the time. read more

Busy like you'd expect an Apple store to be this one a bit more that the US ones. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they accepted me even thou I was not able to make a prior appointment. All in total in was helped in less than 15-20 minutes. I was expecting bad costumer service from the reviews but most of them speak more than one language and were very helpful. I'm taking one star off because they couldn't resolve my problem and I have to go back again but this could have happened to any other store. read more

Out of all the apple stores I've been to this is by far the most interesting from an architectural standpoint. apple stores always seem to have a signature look about them. This is true no matter where you go. I think you could even go as far as to suggest that they are extremely obsessed (understatement) with the style and image of their locations. Many stand out in a very sublime sort of way. Others, the big store in NYC for example, hit you like a ton of bricks. The store in Geneve is a grand departure to me from all the others. It is obviously designed to fit into the local environment seamlessly. So much so that you could almost blink and miss it. The best way to approach it is from Rue de Port and then you can't miss it. You run right into it. As you enter it is nicely understated. The day I visited, on a Saturday, it was very busy but because of the design there weren't a lot of people bunched up at the entrance. There is a narrow space that you pass through where I think people can receive instruction from the staff on operating their new product or just a space where you can sit and use your device. I really wasn't sure. After you pass through you find yourself in a large room with a beautiful high ceiling. I have never seen an apple store like this. It must be great on a sunny day. All of the products are on display in this space. This is very typical of all other stores. If you've been to any other apple store you know exactly what I'm talking about. What is very nice though is there is an alcove on the right end that has all of the accessories. It's great to have them all in the same place. Then, on the left end is the genius bar. I didn't have any technical issues on this occasion but I did observe people receiving competent instructions on the set up of their new iPhones etc.. People who complain about the competency of the staff at apple stores I find are only trying to feel self important. apple staff receives excellent training. Not that they all receive the same training however. That's why apple has the Genius Bar. But usually if you have a problem I'd suggest you try the apple support communities online first. Of course, if you can't get online then you have a good reason to visit the apple store. I think you'll enjoy the one in Geneve. read more

Shittiest service I've ever received at an Apple store. Received air pods less than a year ago for my birthday. Left ear just stopped working which I've read online is a common problem. Made an appointment because it was so busy the other day when I came and super unorganized at the door. Waited 45 minutes AFTER my appointment time to be seen. Checked in after 20 minutes because I thought it was strange and apparently they never marked me as "arrived" at the door. Then still had to wait another 25 minutes. Then was told that even though they're still under guarantee for more than another year, they wouldn't replace it because they weren't bought in Europe...... he ran diagnostics and said there was nothing coming up even though it clearly doesn't work and I've tried to restart and all the other online suggestions. He suggested I try to clean them... useless, rude, unprofessional service. Needless to say I am phasing away from Apple products. read more

In fact it started quite well, was seen by quite a nice guy who looked after me quite well and tried his best to get the MacBook to work to which he couldn't and it needed to be taken in. I was disappointed however that they were unable to offer me a loan MacBook while mine was being repaired but I was assured it wouldn't take long so left my MacBook, the central and most important component of my new business in there hands. It was then I encountered the worse customer service I have ever had the displeasure to endure! Later that week I was called and informed they had opened the MacBook and found water damage, which at no point for 1 1/2 years I have had it has it ever come in contact with water! But I have no way of proving this, but they have photos! I really wish this could have been opened in my presence. From this I was told it needed a new hard drive and motherboard 775chf absolutely gutted! I explain I have never had any water near the laptop, this just falls on def ears... I explain I am struggling to comprehend this information, and do not have this amount of money. Then phone goes blank... been hung up on, I then struggle for the rest of the weekend to contact the store as at no point was I given a contact number or email address to follow this up and being in France with only French and English numbers they are not allowed to be connected for trading purposes I believe. Finally with no further contact from apple I get though on the Monday and told someone will call me back, nobody called me back all day so I then call them back, told somebody will call me back straight away, again no call, I call back, finally I get though. I'm then told the repair is 1060chf to which I am flabbergasted! I explain this is not what I was told on Friday but continually was told it was as that's what they have written down. I tell them it was only the too parts, now there is a 3rd part which now includes a new keyboard. I told them the keys where working fine when I brought the laptop in as we were able to use them. This was not listened too so I asked to talk with the manager who also would not listen to me and said I was lying about my first quote! I am now feeling at a loss knowing that apple are trying to force me to have extra repairs I did not believe was necessary and was given ultimatums of you either have the repair done or come and collect it still broken. I felt at a loss and backed into a corner. After an incredible stressful night and no sleep, I call back again incredibly upset crying asking what can be done as I don't believe it needed a new keyboard the guy on the phone could only advise me to come to store as he seemed to have known the phone conversations would not help me. So it seemed I had to make the 3 1/2 hour round trip back to Geneva just to get them to take me seriously. When I arrived it seemed the store manger who was wearing a white tea shirt and supposedly called David David was on the floor, I asked to talk with the store manger but he refused to talk with me but made degrading hand gestures behind my back and laughed at me being upset. Disgraceful! I did end up talking to another guy in store who surname was David who was a nicer and in fact wanted to get to the bottom of me being given 2 quotes. He found the guy who I spoke to on the phone the first time who quoted me 775chf who confirmed that was what he quoted me and believed that the 'water damage' had come through the back fan not the keyboard! So now they offer to make the repair of only to 2 parts and not the keyboard, see if it works then call me, I was absolutely gobsmacked that this could not be settled days before on the phone, not only reducing the time it had taken to fix the mac but also my stress and sadness. I was then told that one of the parts needed wasn't in stock so would have to wait for that to be delivered, oh I was given a 79chf labour charge reduction for the confusion! I couldn't believe it, it had cost me double this just to come to store unnecessarily! This was on the Wednesday, I was told it had been put through on high priority and should be ready by the end of the week. As I had an important meeting which I really needed my laptop for on the Monday. Still by Monday I did not have any call so called apple, where I was again greeted by an extremely rude man who spoke to me appallingly! Saying the part still hadn't arrived, I asked if they could call me when it arrives so they could then tell me how long it will take to fix it and then I could make the 1h 45min drive to collect it, hopefully in time for my meeting. This guy just said "NO! Do you know how many repairs we've have! We are not going to be ringing you, just wait until it's ready. I frustratedly explained the appalling process I have already been through and he just became argumentative with me, stating he had helped me out by saying the part wasn't in yet, instead of asking the repairs to call back who probably won't, stating I should be gr read more

A fun store to find your latest apple appliance but lets be honest here if you are new to technology the service here is really poor. I wanted to buy an ipod touch and have never had an mp3 player,I had loads of questions but no one really offered any advice. read more

I am very disappointed with the service given at the Apple store in Rive, Geneva. I made an appointment to get something as small as the audio on my iPad fixed, and after waiting an hour, asked one of the "geniuses" if they could help me resolve the issue. He kindly said to sit and wait. I waited another 20 minutes and asked another gentleman the same question, in which the same response was given. In total I've been waiting for an hour and no one came to resolve the issue. It's not the first time I've gone to the store for a minor problem and been greeted with incompetent assistance, and probably won't be the last. read more

Came in for an appointment at the Genius Bar. Staff was brusque, even rude. I was fifteen minutes early for my 10:30 appointment. I was asked to leave and return at the exact time of the appointment. (The store was crowded--but being asked to leave seemed a bit out of the ordinary.) I left, wandered the Rue de Rive for a few minutes, and returned, one minute before the appointed time, I was told to sit at a table and wait. I waited. And waited. And waited. Apple employees milled about, chatted with each other, but made no effort to inform customers about the wait. A person sitting next to me was booked for the same time -- but no one helped her either. At 10:50, she asked whether I knew how the appointment was supposed to work. A manager, passing by, overheard her question, came over, and said, again quite brusquely, "Those people" (he pointed to two Apple employees), "work on Macs. When they're done, it's your turn." He made it seem as if her question were out of line, gave us the sense that we were somehow in the wrong for wondering why no one was helping us, and certainly no attempt to apologize for the delay. (Why only two people were working on Macs when lots of people were waiting for help with Macs is another question.) That is itself was unpleasant. The Genius who finally showed up - 25 minutes after the appointment -- was pleasant enough, but never introduced himself, although he called me by name. (Basic manners: introduce yourself to your customers, particularly if you insist on addressing them by first name!) On to substance. My MacBook Pro required service under a warranty issue, and the Genius readily accepted this, booked a repair, and took my machine. He promised that I would be called wishing three to five days. It has been seven -- and the computer has still not been fixed. Apple, you can do better! read more

Booked a Genius Bar appointment to replace the battery of my iPhone. Was seen promptly and spoke to the assistant for 10 minutes. Told him I knew the phone was in bad shape, and had already replaced the battery twice by non-Apple batteries, but especially in cold weather the phone would just discharge. Was told a new battery would cost 50 CHF, which is 20 CHF more than I had been told it cost. When I pointed this out I was told the price increased slightly in 2019 - 60% increase, seriously?! - but it was still the best and cheapest service around. Fine, they took my phone, told me to come back in an hour. Came back and the second person to assist me was unfortunately very rude and brusque right from the start. She told me the battery couldn't be replaced because the original one was no longer there, but they could propose an iPhone repair for 300 CHF. I said: "I told you it wasn't the original battery, or an Apple one for that matter, why did you keep the phone and waste an hour of my time?". Got a rude answer back, saying that is the timescale they always give. Thanks Apple for wasting my time. I'm so glad I got a genius to tell me what I had told them - that the battery on my phone was not the original one. No attempt whatsoever to provide the service I requested. read more

When I go to this place I feel like the employees think that I go to this Apple store to revere them, because they seem to think they are desirable. Now, this isn't a preconception of mine, we all have them. When I explain my issue or my questions they always seem to want to correct me or find me to be mistaken, they don't want to accept being incompetent in something they do not know. So too often, they lie and mislead you whilst acting to try and intimidate you to believe what they are saying is correct. Yeah, I don't know about others but for me, if employees lie to the customer to hide incompetence about a product or service, not to make themselves seem un-knowledgeable or wrong, I don't go back. It does not take more effort to be quiet then to say a bunch of lies in an attempt to persuade the people who don't know about the topic to believe what they have to say. They treat customers like sheep. This store is shit. read more
