Arrogant dismissive and customer service non existent. Turned up at the appointed time and was dismissed by Justin, a manager. The attitude was condescending and patronising and when question he shrugged his shoulders. Called Apple helpline who were conveniently closed. Walked back to the store and asked to speak to the manager. An unshaven and aggressive man who said he was a fellow manager pointed me to an IPad with an address in Ireland for any complaints. Not at anytime was the nature of the issue recognised or appreciated. The arrogance of Apple and their products was 'if you don't like it, leave, the door is there'. I have paid in full for a product and four staff members were standing around and refused to give me a product as I had to stand in line for 15 minutes as they were 'busy'. They were not. The temperament of the store staff is disgusting. Not friendly and not helpful. Not once was I told at purchase I would have to wait, I paid in full and they were deliberately creating a queue for no reason. This store is absolutely disgusting. read more

This Apple Store located in Gateshead's Metrocentre is a decent branch, however for the size of the Metrocentre, being the biggest shopping centre in the United Kingdom, this branch just isn't big enough, I called in on a Friday afternoon and yes the store was busy so it makes me dread to think what it would be like during peak time on a weekend. I've tended to find many stores have larger branches in the Metrocentre which surprises me why Apple don't either, especially considering how it's like in other branches such as the three floor store in Barcelona and the new branch at Liverpool One. I originally was left waiting for a few minutes, clueless which is something I've never experienced before in an Apple Store, I wasn't greeted before I eventually found a member of staff who helped sort out my issue. From then on in, I dealt with 3 members of staff who sorted out my issue and replaced my Beklin Invisiglass rather quickly, the three members of staff included the woman I originally consulted my problem with. Overall, this is a good store but the size of the store really should be bigger, and they should employ more staff too, to comply with Apple standards of making customers feel valued and welcomed from the start, yet due to the friendly staff and speed of resolution, I still feel this store warrants a three star rating read more

Apparently this is a fairly new store to the metro centre and works for me. Had been in the apple store in Eldon Square Newcastle. Like all the apple stores it's clean, clinical & uncluttered. I went looking for a new iPhone 4 (have 3G) & or an IPad. I grabbed my self an unused iPad & started to play. I found the staff not to intimidating in that on initial contact I explained I was considering a purchase & if I needed help I would shout. Although a couple of staff did ask if I was ok, none stayed around. Once I had decided what size /sec I wanted I gestured the 1st assistant that helped & in a flash he logged into one of the display laptops to summon my purchase from the storage area. After paying for my purchase we sat at a desk & unwrapped it, fired it up a set it up ready to go. I found it a pleasurable experience & did not at anytime feel pressured. read more
