Oh my goodness; what an awesome little market! This place is so fun to visit. Apple market carries all your normal supermarket items along with having local and specialty foods. There is also a little coffee counter that gives Starbuck's a run for their money, as well as a hot food deli area offering daily specials and a few standard fare items that can be eaten at an in-store dining area or taken to go. In addition to food, Apple Market has very unique, one-of-a-kind souvenirs. Service is phenomenal! I was asked several times by several different people if I needed help, I was quite impressed. I'm going to start with my only problem, because besides this, the store is amazing. The deli Buffalo Chicken sandwich has ABSOLUTELY NO buffalo sauce whatsoever, and it's SLICED MEAT which I honestly can't believe is chicken. I had to complain and state I received a turkey sandwich, but I was wrong. What they served me the first time was a buffalo chicken sandwich, they just don't know what a buffalo chicken sandwich is. They DID replace my sandwich, and gave me MULTIPLE freebies. Going beyond what I would've expected to make it right. I just think the buffalo chicken sandwich could use buffalo sauce.... and it still doesn't lol. If you go to the Deli, GET THE CUBAN EVERY-TIME! My mind is still blown how a buffalo chicken sandwich doesn't come with buffalo on it.... twice. OTHERWISE, this is BY FAR the freshest and most divine grocery store i've been to. I've been coming to Apple Market for a bit and love supporting local shops / businesses. However, last time I went in I purchased Philadelphia cream cheese that had mold. This, of course, is not Apple Market's fault - they're not the ones that package the cream cheese! However, when I called to let them know they may want to check their Philadelphia cream cheese inventory, the woman on the phone was very dismissive and made me feel bad for having even let them know. This quaint little independently owned grocery store reminds me of the grocery store my uncle owned when I was growing up. He didn't have the hot food bar, prepared salads, quintessential cheese cooler or sushi, but you get the picture. The market is stocked with all of the necessities and a decent selection of local products. The prices seem to be about average. I've never bought groceries there. I go for the lunches. The hot food bar always has a selection of a few meats and vegetables and a dessert or two to choose from. Some of the options are healthier than others. They make your meal for you, so you don't have to worry about other customers putting their germy hands all in the food. They have two portion sizes to choose from, depending on your hunger level. I've had a few of the sushi rolls from there too. My favorite is the shrimp topped with avocado. I think it's called the green dragon, but I'm not positive. The rolls and poke bowls range in price from about $7-$11. Sometimes I'll go grab lunch and sit at one of the little tables in the front and read. It's a good lunch spot when you're tired of the same ole places and are just looking for quiet time. read more

I have not yet visited Apple Market, but here is why you should. My mom moved into the neighborhood a few weeks ago. She doesn't drive, but she walks about a mile down to the market and back. She loves it. Mom spotted some hanging ferns the market was selling, and told me that she couldn't wait to get down there and buy one. But we are living through the COVID crisis, and she's staying at home for now. I contacted Apple Market last night, and I got immediate replies both from Charlie the Catering Manager and from David Apple, who were both incredibly helpful. They delivered a huge and gorgeous fern to my mother today. She was thrilled. I'm not sure that fern delivery is even something that Apple Market normally does. Probably not, but that is the thing. We have got to act to preserve the small businesses that care about their communities, and that go the extra mile to keep their customers happy. I can't wait to visit mom and Apple Market after this is over, and you can bet that I will buy a large amount of stuff from them. Thank you, Apple Market. You have made a new fan in me. read more

The food advertised on line looked nothing like the actual food in the deli. I couldn't eat my beef tips on rice and I was hungry I took a couple of bites and couldn't eat anymore. The lady in the deli as less than pleasant but the check out girl was friendly. This was not the experience I expected. The ad showed a salad bar which I never saw. Very disappointing. The Apple Market is reminiscent to the likes of Whole Foods Market, Fresh Market, Epicure Market and Norman Brothers. All these market to a Pensacolan means nothing, but to me they are all the pinicals of what a great gourmet market should be. 1. Service is excellent 2. There products range from the mundane to the exotic. 3, There produce is local sustainable farm fresh items. I'm so pleased with my experience at Apple Market! I walked into a Mom & Pop style gourmet and local market. Not only were they COVID cautious, but it was also such a lovely, homey atmosphere with such kind staff. They even have a boutique section that supports local artists and creators! I came in hoping for a small Key Lime Pie. They only had large 8 serving sizes but Mike in the deli made special accommodations for me and I was able to purchase half of one. I was so grateful! You don't get that kind of personalized, friendly, above and beyond service at traditional corporate grocery stores! The deli at Apple Market is the best deal in town - without a doubt. The dinners are high-end restaurant quality and cost as much as a typical appetizer. Last night I picked up a teriyaki salmon dinner with green beans and loaded mashed potatoes. I was not expecting such perfection. The salmon was as good as -- if not better than -- what any restaurant could prepare. The green beans were perfectly crisp-tender and very delicately seasoned. It was impossible to pass up the loaded mashed potatoes, which were bursting with flavor. Lots of bacon, cheese and just enough green onions make this side dish an indulgent guilty pleasure. This modest-appearing grocery store is a real gem. You can taste the pride in their food. Don't dismiss Apple Market when considering lunch or dinner options. The deli staff are very friendly and helpful; they make you feel like a welcome guest. And the pulled pork sandwiches are the best deal in town for a delicious lunch. Apple Market used to be fantastic, but Publix has cut into their business and it shows. All the happy outgoing employees are gone. They used to have some fantastic imported items, no longer the case (pretty much just Bars Head.) I have gone in to pick up something really basic and they were out. The hot bar can range from good, to meh, and there is nothing healthy offered. I have also gone in to visit the hot bar and they were clean up at not serving, a hour before they close. IMHO, the only way AM is going to survive is if they change. Start offering higher quality to-go orders and fine foods, instead of trying to be the neighborhood grocery they once were. The meat department is still very good. You don't have a lot of options offered going here, a lot of times it is more productive to go to a larger grocery store, sorry that is just an honest fact. read more

Yes, its expensive, and I would never fully grocery shop here. But I would consider it a 'gourmet' grocery store for Pensacola. A few things you SHOULD go here for: There lunch specials. So, so tasty and CHEAP! I HATE restaurant mac & cheese, and I tried theirs as a side...Man, I wish I got it as an entree. They also do dinners to go - steak seafood, the works. It's always good. They also make some sandwiches that I can't vouch for, but they do use only Boars Head meat, and their bread is perfect. I believe they carry gelato also. I've recently moved back to Pensacola after being gone for 16 years, and have been slowly been getting up to speed on what is good here. I was driving around downtown the other day looking at what I remembered to be the milk company that delivered, and was really longing for some of the things that have faded away. A few days later, I see milk in returnable bottles at Apple Market. Wow! I'm sold, but wait... prime meats, and my favorite pre-made demi-glace. This is my new go to place for groceries. I continue to love this place. It really is a little slice of heaven in Pensacola. They have the best salmon, and I get it at least 3 times a week. The quality has remained consistent, which is very impressive considering how many times I have had the salmon over the past year.
