A fantastic local find!
I've been walking past this place every day for the last year and had never dared step inside (it doesn't look like much from the outside) but as it turns out, the food is scrumptious and surprisingly cheap. Run by mother and son, serving authentic Eastern European dishes.
I had the borsch, a sweet beetroot soup full of fresh herbs and veg, served with a dollop of soured creme and croutons. For main I had the Pierogi, home-made dumplings, with a mix of fillings: meat, mushroom & cabbage and creamy potato & onion. Dessert was divine... pancakes filled with melted dark chocolate and fresh strawberries. My friend had the deep fried sweet goats cheese with raspberry coulis (I kid you not, it was one of the best puddings ever!)
Since the first visit I have been going back every week or two. Really friendly and attentive service, chilled cafe atmosphere, and it's generally nice to support a cool, family-run, local place. read more
