So it's the end of the year and when I reflect back on the things I'm most grateful for this year,…read moreit's enrolling my son in The Barnyard. He's been there for almost a year now. We had a bad experience at a local Montessori. It was just a year ago that we pulled him out of his old school. His confidence was low, he would physically flinch when other children simply approached him, and he hated school. Fast forward to now, after one year at the Barnyard. His confidence has soared, he has a great group of friends, he's developed a love for math, his speech delay is non-existent, and we've seen him come out of his shell. The teachers and staff at the Barnyard genuinely care and they want to see the children thriving, just as much as the parents do. They go above and beyond, and it shows in my sons smile as he runs into class.

The menu is wonderful - I feel great about what my child eats there during the day. The thing I love the most is their curriculum - every week is a different unit - even for the youngest kids! They have designated art time, music time, story time, outside time, etc. At 2 years old, I feel like my daughter is getting an amazing start to her education. I also really appreciate the Brightwheel app they use- I get pictures and updates all day long about what my daughter is doing. I would recommend this daycare 1000 times over.

My children attended the school for 4+ years. We were fortunate enough to be able to skip the…read morewaitlist as we were moving from another Nobel Learning Community school in another state. My children had experience with 3 main teachers, two of whom were fantastic. The classrooms are set up with one main teacher who has to have Montessori certification and one assistant teacher who does not have to be certified in Montessori education. There is one classroom for toddlers (ages 2-3) and 6 other classrooms (ages 3-6/kindergarten). The upper classes have about 22 students/teacher+ assistant. I assume that each school is as good as the staff/teachers who work there. Children can start as young as 2 years old in room 1. The main teacher in room 1 Ms Rose was very patient, loving, and had everything under control. Other teacher in room 6, Ms Kat, was the best teacher I've ever met. She made sure that children were learning, came up with various aids/behavioral strategies when children were struggling and she is very dedicated to teaching. She was always busy teaching the children, working with them, and making sure they were learning. My other child who moved up from room one to another classroom had a less than desirable experience as he did not learn much in his upper class and we ended up transferring him (after addressing our concerns first with that teacher and then the principal) to room 6 and the amazing Ms Kat who brought him up to speed in less than 10 months! The principal, Ms Lila is a very lovely lady, knows everyone by name, and runs the school well. Her door is always open and she is always available to listen to concerns and answer questions as needed. The school organizes a few events during the year and it feels like the staff is putting a lot of effort into providing the children with nice learning environment. Overall, I'd recommend the school but make sure you are on top of what your child is learning.

The Principal, Miss Jamie is so warm, kind, smart, and trustworthy-- you literally could not find a better person for this role. She is always coming up with fun ideas for the kids, parents, and her staff and she's a true leader. I think all of the teachers here are really great but especially my son's teachers Miss Emily and Miss Cari. Miss Emily has been at this school for (i can't remember exactly) but 15-20 years. She is totally professional and the BEST teacher. We feel so lucky to have her. Miss Cari was her assistant and I think she is in school to become an official teacher and we also think the world of her. She had cute inside jokes with our son and was always bringing a smile to his face. The school is clean, safe, organized and I always felt comfortable having our kids here. We will miss this school!

We paid $10 for my 3 year old and $12 for our 8 year old, affordable for so much fun! And that's for all day not for 1-2 hours of play. They had a winter break camp going on, there was about 10 kids who were being watched by 3 adults who worked there, we thought that was a cool option for local families. They have drinks and snacks and we also really appreciated that! I asked for a Flat White and it was actually delicious! Bridget was the one working the front desk, drinks and snacks yesterday and she is really awesome! Very sweet with great people skills! The play area was also clean, they must wipe things down pretty good every day. The only cons are when you first walk in the first door for entry, the small walk through room smells heavily like chlorine with a hint of mildew, like you're about to walk into an indoor pool. Also, the bathrooms looked like a daycare bathroom, out of toilet paper, toilet paper on the ground and no towels to dry your hands. Im sure they have their hands very full during times they have camps where they are watching a lot of kids. Someone going in and checking the bathroom once an hour should fix that. And lastly, we forgot to bring water with us for our kids, they don't sell water bottles and they don't have filtered water. They do have 2 water fountains for the kids but I don't let my kids use water fountains. Next time we'll be sure to have our waters with us. Thank you Bodies In Motion, our kids had a great time!

Both kids learn so much and the teachers are all absolutely amazing. The director (Megan) and assistant director (Gena) are wonderful and really know all the kids. While my husband and I stumbled through morning routines, bedtime, wakeless nights, and lonely long days at work; the exceptional staff at New Horizon have truly raised my children. I did not teach my children to share, you (New Horizon) did. I did not teach my children to talk and sing and dance, you did. I did not teach my children to use a fork and put away their dishes, you did. I did not teach my children to say please and thank you....before they could even speak, you did. I did not potty train my children, you did. I did not teach them numbers, letters, animals, shapes, colors, emotions, geography, or current political affairs; you did. I showed my children love, safety, happiness, family, and how to curse; you took that foundation and built amazing, funny, compassionate, intelligent, creative, and curious individuals. Children I could only have dreamed of. What I can't wrap my head around is the enduring ability for your staff to show up every day and be a rock for all of those children. To maintain a positive encouraging attitude when chaos is all around them. To show patience in times I would literally lose my mind. To be non judgemental, supportive, and understanding. I'd like to think my children got special treatment and extra attention, because they're freaking awesome! But deep down I know that any other parent would think the same thing because that is the level of care you provide every family. My oldest started fourth this year, soon my daughter will do the same. It will break my heart when that day comes because we will no longer get to travel our life journey with our best friends, and my role models, at New Horizon. *Side note....I will NOT miss that weekly bill! The best sales pitch anyone has ever served me was by Miss Brandy Turner on my first visit to New Horizon, she said matter of fact like: "You get what you pay for." Yes Brandy, you do! ---- Please accept my request to tell every one of your staff members, in person at you annual professional development conference, how truly exceptional they are and the importance of the work that they do.
