Our designer Ogopogo Manhattan Suite offered luxurious amenities from a soothing soaking tub and full jet rain shower to a lounging deck overlooking a sun kissed little lakeside beach. We can walk or bike to top restaurants, beaches and a fabulous marina in downtown Kelowna. The location is perfect and the weather was unbelievable throughout our July visit. I will not be able to comment enough about how amazing our stay was at this fantastic bed and breakfast. It is undeniably a beautiful house, with such perfect personal touches (toiletries to use, water in fridge, Lindt bars, etc) and the highest quality towels, sheets, beds and ... Well... Everything. However, it was the host with the most Karen who made our stay one of the best weekends we've had in a long time. I swear this woman was put on earth to make people enjoy their vacations and to fatten them up with amazing breakfasts (pictures posted). Karen is a ball of amazing energy who truly added to the trip for us. From recommendation at restaurants that we loved, to providing free bicycles to ride around, to greeting us with cold wine (you literally had me at hello) to her professional and fun attitude every time we chatted. Breakfast was a work of art that will rarely be matched at any other B and B in this country and others (this lady has kitchen skills). Comfortable, clean, beautiful, amazing location for walking, beach across the road, and a host that will personally bring your vacation to another level of perfection. It's worse than a mental hospital with no rules! We had to have a weapon and travel in pairs. It's thunder dome! Triple lock your doors and put ear plugs in to not hear the screaming. Vacation in Ukraine or Palestine would be more relaxing. Avoid if you like your family!

We booked a room here for a short 3 night stay and were excited to find an internet rate of $71 a night plus tax. When I arrived, I was amazed at what such a low price can get you in Summerland!! I know it's not their peak season, but wow! Our room was ready when we arrived and we were excited to find an incredibly comfortable Queen sized bed, a full kitchen with stove and oven, fridge and freezer, and a big bath tub in the very modern and pretty bathroom. The room was small and a bit cramped, but that's mainly because they try and fit so much into a small space. Our room had a gas fireplace, TV, table and chairs, full kitchen, large armoire, full bathroom, and even a balcony with chairs and table. Everything felt new, fresh and clean. Some family members stayed in the two bedroom suite which had a partial lake view. They were supposed to be in the full lake front view two bedroom suite, but the hotel messed up. We had told them that we had 3 people over the age of 85 who would be sharing a suite. When we got there, they had put us in a suite with a great view, but it had stairs to a loft and the other bedroom was a Murphy bed that you had to move a 6 person table to access. Obviously that isn't going to work for our seniors. We were quite annoyed, but the new room was nice. It wasn't quite what we had asked for, but it was very nice. The full kitchens are really convenient, especially if you are staying a while. The bath tub had very high sides, and it could have used a safety bar or handicap bar to help you in and out. I'm only 36 and of average height, but the tub sides were really high for me and when you are wet, you could slip. They have free WiFi throughout the property, just ask for the pass code when you arrive and it's the same for every hot spot. Overall, the hotel is beautiful. You are steps away from the lake, minutes from downtown Summerland and the surrounding wineries. Penticton is a short drive away and I can't imagine there is anywhere nicer in the area.

They are buttoning up for winter so most of the water related activities are unavailable. The outdoor pools are drained and all the out four furniture is stored. No matter. We came here to relax and that is what we are doing. We have a nice space to spread out in. There's a restaurant and bar in the lobby and it looks as if this place hosts gatherings through the year. The property is clean and we have no qualms with the cleanliness of our suite. We have a nice view from the third floor. I can't speak to the cost of staying here but we got the reduced "winter rate". We spend out anniversaries somewhere up here in The Great White North every year. Cheers!

Several days later I saw on my credit card that I was charged the whole amount of our stay, which I had already paid through Expedia. I should have only been charged the pet fee & room service. Contacting the hotel was a bit of a hassle. Eventually got my refund. I can imagine this place being really nice and busy in the summer.

The beds are comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. Friends of ours are staying at the Grand Okanagan and they are very disappointed as none of the facilities are open and very little staff available so they have a room with no glasses, no chairs to sit on and a phone that does not work. They've had to request the most basic of supplies on numerous occasions. The staff here are very friendly and accommodating. There is a nice boardwalk out on the lake and it is a short stroll along the water to their sister property - Eldorado Resort. Finding parking on their lot can be challenging.

We were looking for a room on the lower end of the price spectrum and from what we found purely from online research, Y Knot offered great value for the price. The breakfasts prepared by Colin and Gail were delightful! We also enjoyed the big king sized bed in our room (dubbed Kai's Waterfall by our hosts). Although the hot tub and pool were close or down for maintenance when we visited, we were able to take advantage of the wonderful steam room in the basement. One of our must-do's during our visit was to ride the Kettle Valley Railway portion that runs across the hillside above Naramata and Penticton. We explicitly chose Y Knot because they offered us the loan of two bikes and a ride up the hillside to where the KVR bike path begins. If we had walked our bikes up there, it would have been a bad slog. Our bedroom was adjacent to a common area shared with the other guest suite. In the mornings Colin and Gail put out a hot coffee or tea for us before breakfast. There was also a microwave and mini fridge in this common space available for our use. My only suggestion is that it would have been comforting to have access to a kettle and some mugs. I enjoy a bed time cup of tea but wasn't sure if I would over step my hosts hospitality by asking to use theirs so I did without.

The lovely K's usual haunts had not a room available, enter a hidden gem in the downtown of Kelowna. Please don't tell anyone but your closest friends. The area is filled with restaurants, pubs, coffee houses and is a couple minutes walk to the lakefront. The hotel itself has a colourful history and great B&W photo's throughout the hotels public spaces to fill you in. They did a wonderful job of allowing us to kinda check in early and then called us when our room was ready. The rooms were nicely appointed in our double Queen with a good amount of room. The bathroom is a little snug, given the door brushes the front of the toilet. The bathroom is a one person at a time deal unless you're fine with close proximity bathroom habits. The bed was comfy, which is always a big thing for us. The breakfast covers all the bases, and although not memorable, offers a good variety to satisfy most seekers of the most important meal of the day. Location, comfort, nostalgia, parking, walk ability and you have us interested. Add great staff and you have a gem overlooked. Don't tell anyone though please.

Sierra was more than accomodating by holding the lost items in their lost&found and doing the extra work to parcel them up and send them to me. That should tell you all you need to know about the good people running the hotel.
