Surfers has been one of the OG coffee shops in Central Oahu and is a popular spot!…read more Drinks: As of recently, I've been loving an iced dirty tiger spice chai. The chai is pretty sweet on its own so I add 2 shots of espresso to cut thru that sweetness and add a teeny bit more caffeine to the drink. They also have seasonal drinks that stay for a few months at a time. My favorite seasonal drink was in the summer -- I believe it was a haupia latte (cold foam on top was sooooo good with the coffee). Food: If I order food, it'll be the bacon burrito w/sauce. They also have other sweeter options for food (mochi waffles, avo toast, etc) Of the countless times I've been to Surfer's, there's a mixture of people - some locked in doing work, others catching up with friends, people reading their Bibles, tourists passing through checking out a local coffee shop, etc. Because of this, it can get pretty loud for a coffee shop, so just FYI if you plan on going there to do work! Overall, love Surfers :) Great vibes, amazing staff, and I'll always keep coming back here Parking: Back lot parking (located on Ohai St) or street parking (Kam Hwy) WiFi: Yes | Bathroom: Yes

I especially love seeing the monsteras crawling on the trees, and the tall bamboo garden. The cherry blossom trees here are also my favorite place to visit when it is spring in Hawaii :). This place is one of the locations where you can view cherry blossoms. I don't usually frequent this area since it's a bit out of the way but the views and beautiful plants are worth it! Definitely bring walking shoes because this was actually a work out...Felt like I was in Jurassic Park - I was having fun jumping on rocks and stuff but I decided not to go too deep into the jungle of this botanical garden this time because I didn't want to get my shoes *dirty* I am very particular on keeping my shoes looking good... With any visit to Hawaii, I try to make it a plan to go check out a botanical garden. I don't know…read morewhy, it's probably because of all those Avatar movies. Anyways, on our drive up to North Shore, we figured why not stop by and check out Wahiawa along the way. We came here on a mild December afternoon, and the weather had been raining on and off as of late. While the temp would hit between 70 to 78 degrees. But in other words, the grounds were a bit wet and muddy in certain areas of the trails. At least in the lower parts of the trail, not so much the upper garden area. As we entered, I found it odd that no one was manning the booth. We all assumed it was free for it being the holidays, so we walked straight in. Luckily, it wasn't overly crowded. And walking the main garden was so eye opening. Plenty of colorful and giant types of foliage to check, and read about, everywhere! As we went off deeper and explored the side trails. I kept getting bit by mosquitos left and right, all up and down my leg. YES, it's my own fault for forgetting to put on insect repellant. So highly I highly recommend insect repellant! And then the pockets of mud as you tour further and further along the lower trails. These pools are what gives life to mosquitos lol. I did wear my hiking shoes, but you can manage walking it with sandals. But better off with shoes versus sandals. Plenty of photo opportunities as the park really is nice, but to me it lacked the foliage that I admired seeing at Foster Botanical Garden (in which all the gardens are related). All in all, I really was just bitter about not being able to visit the huge Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden. They were closed due to road repaving, so we decided to come here instead. But no big deal. Onto the next!

Sweet Land Farm produces four types of goat cheese: Chèvre, Gouda, Tomme & Feta. Which supplies local restaurants, stores and hotels with its goat cheeses & caramel. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk with. I wish I got his name. At the end of our tour the adults were given Gouda & Chèvre cheese and crackers. The children goat gelato.
