Room wasn't bad but the bed was way too soft & felt like I was going to slide into the floor. Turning on the air made the room smell worse than what it already did. No amount of showering & scrubbing with soap made me feel clean. Felt like I had bugs crawling on me when I went to sleep. Only two things made this a two star: Mountain Setting Breakfast

Nice quality towels & not too expensive but not cheap. I stayed in a hot tub room - my only complaint is the yellow stain that forms around the top of the water while in the tub & once you get out. Also the bubbles turn yellow-ish while relaxing in the tub. It's not necessarily oily but I did voice my concern. The cleaning lady told me the maintenance would check into it - however second night the yellow stuff formed again on the top of the water! Weird & Yucky! Otherwise convenient location next to Mingo County courthouse & parking is across street included in your room cost! Good people & recommendation high! Enjoy a nice sleep! Ask for a room by 2nd street though the train and traffic all night will keep you awake during the night on the back side!

The Hatfield McCoy Inn was wonderful and charged us half as much as to what other local hotels were asking. Great place to stay. Beautiful historic home. It has so much character. We had a really hard time getting service to research a lot of places during our week long touring with the ATV's on the Hatfield & McCoy trails, so it was wonderful to finally hit a town that had service for Verizon phones and be able to find a little piece of heaven like this. Also, we've never stayed at a bed and breakfast, so this was definitely a first experience for us. The hosts were so welcoming at the late hour we came in, and recommended a few restaurants in town for us to get dinner and relax at. We had the privacy of a hotel, and the comfort of a home, all at the same time. We will definitely keep this on the map for our future visits- you should too!!!

The pool was was on the smaller side but big enough. We stayed during the week so it was never crowded. We had a king bed suite room that included a pull out couch. We loved the extra space for our toddler to romp and roam after a long day of driving. The bed was comfortable and included several pillows of all comfort levels. The walk in shower didn't leak any water upon entry or exit! Staff were incredibly friendly at both check in and check out. Breakfast staff were attentive and helpful. I dropped 1 star for 2 reasons - 1) breakfast was good but limited options. It was well stocked, clean and staff was so nice so I kind of feel bad for dropping a star for this but it's nice to have a little variety beyond the basic norms. 2) there is one hill that serves as the entry to 3 hotels. They allow tractor and trailer trucks to park along both sides of this entry making it one lane in and out. You will also sit and wait while these large trucks back up several times to fit perfectly on the side of the road. We would stay again despite the 2 things mentioned above!
