Thanks, accolades, and praises to the nurses and nurse aides who comforted other patients and me. Special thanks go to the Therapy Department, including all the males that I "talked" sports with, and PT Robyn and OT Jasmine, who would be pleased to know that I am continuing to "take my steps" and travel up and downstairs (presently, still with my caregivers). Discharge matters were efficiently handled by Jenny in the Social Service Office. Another shoutout to the Director of the Activity Center, who, with his staff, provided daily services for residents and guests (He was another great sports lover, especially basketball). Finally, here's hope and prayers for my roommate, Richard, who sat with me for lunch on my last day, given the difficulties we both shared! May the staff continue to motivate and help others!

I was not aware they were out of network all my charges went to out of network benefits basically they get paid more money from insurance carrier but this does not go to my normal out of pocket cost do the $880 original quote is now over $1700 I am not happy with this service I could have went to my previous provider I did request a discount and was told no by Meghan there billing agent. Beware you will receive a quote but they know how to overbill and get more money out of the insurance carrier. I was admitted to SeaCliff on 8/25/17 after spending a week in New Start Detox in Santa Ana, Ca. I…read morewas scared. I had overdosed on heroin on 8/17/17 and an angel sent me to New Start telling me that I would go for detox and then to a longer term facility where I would be safe and taught how to get my life back together without the use of drugs and alcohol. When my detox discharged me and brought me to SeaCliff I was so terrified. I was angry, I had so much self hate, I had no self worth and I felt hopeless. The staff immediately assured me that those feelings were temporary and that it would get better. It did. I met the owner, Daryll, that day. He had an open door policy. Daryll ended up being like an Uncle to me. From day 1 he let me know that I was important and he believed in me. Then I met my counselor Dave. Dave was another one, he had been through hell and back like myself so we related. With those 2, the therapist, the support staff and the 12 step fellowship, I began to grow into a woman who stopped hating myself and everyone else. I actually started recognizing my worth, I learned boundaries, I learn how to have relationships with my family and friends, I learned how to help others, they gave me the freedom to get a sponsor and go out and work those 12 steps like my life depended on it because it did and then get my own sponsee and help her, and now I have 9 months free from active addiction. I graduated from the program at Seacliff and now I live on my own, just 4 miles away. The team helped me make a plan so that I'm close by because my blood family lives on the East Coast. My Seacliff family is just a quick ride away and I stay close to them, my meetings are right down the road, my sponsor is right down the road, Daryl and Dave are just a phone call away as well as the support staff. Although I graduated they are still here for me just like they were when I was in their facility. Just because you graduate doesn't mean you have to leave their family. That facility literally saved my life. They taught me how to live again. They had simple rules that I respected, they took me to meetings everyday, I attended their groups everyday, they had fun events for us, I had never been in a treatment center which had such a family setting that taught me so much about living free from active addiction at the same time. Every time I had a bad day I would run into Dave's office or Darryl's office and when I would make mountains out of mole hills they would say we can get through this this is not the end of the world and they would handle the problem. Words can't express my gratitude nor explain the benefits I've reaped from SeaCliff Treatment Center. I've been to MANY rehabs but not like this. I've been to the fanciest, I've been to the institutionalized ones... this place is the best because I nevet felt like I was actually cared about like I was here. I had the freedom to go out and adult, get my sponsor and get busy with the program after my SeaCliff Responsiblities were handled for the day. I would never go anywhere else after being here... There are so many other amazing staff members at SeaCliff and so many awesome things that go on there and I am blessed that I get yo go there and be an example for the new clients and show them that it works. God willing I never have to go to treatment again as a client. I could keep writing for days about this place! If you follow the program and the rules that SeaCliff has and get a sponsorand work the 12 steps then you can live this amazing life that I have found too!!!! Thank you guys for being super loving and caring and expecting nothing in return but respect and hard work. Another perk was that it's 3 blocks from the beach.

Early on it was a big adjustment for all of us, but through time, I think we have all adjusted nicely. The staff is very kind to my dad and to me when I am there. The facility is very clean and now features some new interior and exterior decor which makes it feel more homey and inviting. Rating a Skilled Nursing Facility isn't easy. The circumstances for many people are tough; some…read morecoming out of the hospital for rehab and other finding this their home, after so many years living at home. My father went to the hospital ER after becoming weak and having a seizure like experience. At 95, he had just become very weak and non-ambulatory. The hospital tests had shown that he needed attention that he could no longer receive at home with caregivers. He was transferred to Alamitos West. We found Alamitos West to exceed our expectations. The facility is kept clean and the staff is friendly, professional and very helpful. They treat dad with respect, monitor him for his medications and try to keep him comfortable. The nurses, assistants, and PT all have a hard job, but they have all been so kind and helpful. Communication about Dad's condition has been good during our visits and the team keeps us informed about his vitals, when meds are being administered and any new medications. The social workers and business office team were extremely valuable at answering our questions about insurance, discharge process, finances and options. They were all so helpful and genuinely caring as Dad was transferred from short term care to long term care. They definitely made the transition much less stressful and clear. Taking care of elder parents can be extremely stressful. We found Alamitos West to provide the much needed assistance we needed for Dad.
