I did not authorize any charges on my credit card related to this order for Richard Von Saal, yet my card was used. I also was not involved in approving, reviewing, or making decisions about the chairs at any point. While I may have been present in a general capacity, I had no role in the order, approvals, or transactions. There have been statements suggesting that I approved work in person or was actively involved in the process. That is not accurate. I did not provide approval, and I was not involved in managing or overseeing this project. Mario is lying stating I was there in person to authorize my credit card. If so, where is my signature? I strongly recommend that anyone entering into agreements ensure all authorizations and approvals are clearly documented in writing. I am currently taking steps to resolve this matter.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. If I could give negative stars I would. I really…read morehate to leave a review like this, especially being an entrepreneur and small business owner myself, but this is where I draw the line. I found Mario on yelp, decided to go with him because of his work/pictures and relatively positive reviews. Mario was hired to make custom railings for my townhouse that my partner and I had just closed on. Although his pricing was higher than other bids we had received, I wanted to give him a chance as he seemed nice, professional and talented. Man was I wrong! Upon sending the deposit/signing the contract, Mario had informed me that he was going to be traveling to Colombia for three weeks and wouldn't be able to get to my job until he returned, I was patient and understanding. When he returned a week went by and I had yet to hear from him. He was unresponsive, taking days to return my calls/texts. Deposit was sent July 3rd, he finally came to do the fitting August 24th, 7.5 weeks since initial deposit was paid. Day of the fitting, the railings were significantly big for our space and wouldn't work. Mind you, he never showed us samples of sizes nor renderings. The moment I asked about changing the size, Mario's attitude completely changed arguing that he had to pay his workers, he lost a day of work and he was in the hole for the materials. (Isn't that your job? To pay your employees and front materials, the whole reason I paid a deposit?) I agreed to pay his workers day rate (which I shouldn't have) and Mario agreed to make the necessary changes after several discussions. Now we're at September 13th, still haven't heard anything from Mario. After reaching out multiple times he finally gets around to communicating the railings were complete and ready for install but this time he was demanding the balance be paid in cash and wanted half up front day before installation. So I've now paid him $1,500 and have nothing to show for it and your now demanding a cash payment?! And another $2k day before installation at 10pm? Needless to say, Mario never showed up for the day of installation because I wouldn't agree to pay him in cash. No call or text communicating the cancellation either I've never in dealt with a more rude, unprofessional and insulting vendor/contractor in my life. I offered to pay Mario via zelle, Venmo, cashapp, bank wire and certified check, he still demanded cash payment and wouldn't let up. He's unresponsive throughout business hours and only texts late at night, never answers calls to speak with his customers. How do you run a business like this? Our contract stated $1,500 deposit and the remaining $4k be paid after completion/installation but he kept changing things and making new demands. I also requested my deposit back so I could take my business elsewhere but Mario would not return it so I'm stuck working with this clown. Do yourself a favor and avoid Mario by all costs. *update* he installed the railings after paying him $4k in cash and the quality is horrible: scratched, inconsistencies and multiple colored screws used. For all his demands, dude couldn't even get the same colored screws. Pictures posted.

I could not believe the ridiculously rude behavior of Dave (owner of Rich Sheet Metal Works). When…read moreI arrived there was one other worker besides Dave doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Literally there were no customers in the shop and they were not working/fabricating ANYTHING. My intent in going there was to gather ideas / put a game plan together for fabricating and welding a steel rod piece that I needed for some furniture. Then after discussing what needed to be done, it was my intent to hire them to weld my parts together. DAVE was very curt and rude. Every time I opened my mouth to speak he cut me off shouting "IT DOESN'T MATTER, it doesn't matter!!". I felt like I was being scolded and I've just walked in to the place. Literally, he would not even let me show him a picture of the product or finish my sentences. He acted like he couldn't be bothered with such a trivial request and was highly annoyed that I would have the audacity to take time out of his day to try and research my project by speaking to welders more experienced in fabrication than I am. I might understand his protestations if they were really busy (there's just no justification) however they were just standing around doing nothing! I guess I interrupted Dave from taking out a box of opened envelopes to the trash which is the only thing he was doing when I tried to greet him. He was rude and irritated from the second I said hello with a smile. I cannot believe the attitude of some business owners who act like they're doing you a favor by letting you come to their place of business to procure work for them. He just did not want to be bothered and spouted off something to the effect of "I can't fabricate this part because it's proprietary!!!".... Huh....? What on earth are you even talking about??? The piece is not proprietary, it's basically a brass stud. I found one that works perfectly on Amazon for $7. Then he started whining about he doesn't have a hollow steel rod and couldn't fabricate one and that even if he could fabricate one it would be the wrong color blah blah blah....not even letting me finish my sentence to TELL HIM that I ALEADY HAD the steel rod in the right color (also purchased on amazon for $9.89)!!! All I was trying to do was hire a "welder" which incidentally Dave is...to weld the two parts (I ALREADY HAD) together. I would've gladly paid for the time spent as the materials were already purchased and in the mail. I couldn't relate ANY OF THIS to him because he wouldn't let me speak. He just kept barking over me until literally I was so disgusted I walked out. I went to several welders that day and told them the story of my interaction with Dave. They all said the same thing..."I've heard he's a capable welder but very hard to work with." Amen to that... I urge potential customers to go ANYWHERE but here. You know you're in the wrong place when you come to a place of business and the first thing you get is a crusty scowl instead of a smile and a hearty "how can I help?".

The craftsmanship is so superb and I definitely got very personal attention to detail on every step of process. Them not having hundreds of reviews made me bit nervous but Kevin and his team's initial detail oriented proposal made me taking a leap of faith and I'm so glad I did! Kevin Sr. Is a true artist and Kevin's handling on thorough process from the initial design to installation is top notch and I'm not very easily pleased person when it comes to construction related projects!

I called H Ironworks and spoke with Kevin about fabricating a custom steel cable tension brace to support a shade sail spanning about 35 feet. He and his father came out to my house, listened to what I was trying to accomplish, took measurements, and then went back to the shop to figure out the best way to build it. About a week later they returned for a test fit, and everything lined up perfectly. The following week they brought it back powder coated, and I couldn't have been happier. The workmanship was outstanding--beautiful finish, clean welds, and it looked like it had always belonged there. Just as important, Kevin and Hamlet are genuinely nice people. They're easy to work with, communicate well, show up when they say they will, and clearly take pride in what they do. I would recommend H Ironworks without a second thought. Five stars all the way. Thank again guys! Jesse
