Steve did an awesome job repairing a broken wheel on our Honda lawnmower and giving it a tune up. He was in and out within an hour, and even looked at and fixed a minor issue with another yard tool free of charge. He was reasonably priced and had better availability than the lawnmower repair shop we used in the past. We'll definitely be using and recommending Steve in the future. read more

Steve was great. Very responsive, on time, personable, friendly, respectful, all you can ask for. He quickly diagnosed the problem on my riding lawn mower, knew what the fix was and grabbed the part from Menards to fix that same day. He is honest, doesn't hide the cost of the parts and this doesn't up charge. Steve will be in my contacts for anytime I have a small engine repair need. Highly recommend his services! read more

Steve was incredible to work with! He came out to our home in Palatine promptly to fix our riding lawn mower. He is incredibly knowledgeable about many facets. We had to reschedule due to some unforeseen circumstances, we worked with Steve to find a time for him to come by and work on the riding mower. We were able to leave and come home to a fully fixed riding mower. He not only provided top notch service on the mower, he has given us incredible advice to keep the mower running. We will continue to use Steve for all facets of his business. Great quality work by a great person at a great price, highly recommend! read more

A hand-me-down 3 year old lawn mower (which had then sat for three years) would start and not run. Steve came to the house and got it running perfectly. The service was fantastic and the cost was very fair and made it practical to keep the mower. Communications were excellent and all went as hoped. I did not have the means to transport the mower to a shop so the at home service was terrific. read more

My lawnmower stopped working and I was able to make an appointment very quickly. Steve came to my house and he knew the problem immediately; he repaired the starting mechanism in the engine and tuned up the rest. He is knowledgable, friendly, and affordable. I will definitely call him in the future. Great experience. read more

Tiller repair was accomplished and very complete with multiple issues/including wiring/ involved. Would highly recommend!

Well, Steve has saved our bacon once again. I don't know why we are snowblower-cursed (no one else we know seems to have these issues, and we are more mindful than average due to our troubles), but our snowblower refused to start again. We made sure to test it out a few days ahead of the recent snowfall, just to make sure it would work... and of course it did not. Steve was able to come out very quickly and get us up and running in time for the holiday weekend snow. His communication is very good, price very fair, and his help is very much appreciated! read more

Steve's small engine repair is the best kept secret (and shouldn't be!) Our lawnmower really needed some love and attention. Steve responded to our call on the same day and was out the same week to our house to give it a tune up. The home curbside service has to be the absolute best feature of this business model. Steve was on time and gave our lawnmower the works! His price was fair, he was very kind and personable and our lawnmower is running better than ever. Thanks so much! Couldn't be happier! read more

Steve cane today and did a great job replacing my Torro snowblower carburetor. I wasn't aware that gas sitting too many weeks in the 2 cycle engine will gun it up completely. I recommend. read more

Used Steve for the first time for my snowblower. He did a great job. Kept the area clean. Snowblower works great. It's nice to have him come to my house to tune it up. I recommend him. read more

After reading the reviews people left, I was set on using Steve. Given the amount of snow we had last week, I figured I might have to wait a day or two for a response but, I was willing to wait. The estimate he provided was less than I expected, given that I have a dual stage snowblower and it was certainly worth the wait!! Steve came out and had it running in about 20 minutes. I gave him a check for his service and then he insisted that I come outside. The reason just about knocked me over but he wanted to take me through the process of draining the fuel system so I wouldn't need to call him again. INTEGRITY at it's finest. read more

He initially responded to my Yelp request and stated he would be able to take care of my problem and gave a price quote. I agreed to the quote and asked to set up a time/date. He never responded, so I called and left a voice mail to request service, but he never returned my call. I understand that this is a busy time of year. Thanks Steve - I will call you when the next malfunction happens! read more

Was able to come out to the house and tune up an old snowblower and inspect it for safety. Worth the value of not having to go and give it to a shop. Nice professional and courteous read more

Steve responded to my request for snowblower service quickly with an estimate and set up an appointment right away. He texted me when he was on his way and arrived on time. He explained what he would do and very quickly got my snowblower working again. He thoroughly explained the problem and texted me specific directions on what to do. He has a 30 day guarantee on his work. He is very pleasant to work with and I highly recommend him! read more

We highly recommend Steve's Small Engine Repair!!! Our snowblower wouldn't start after we tried everything. We found Steve's Small Engine Repair service online and are so thankful we called him. He came to our home within a few days of our contact. Plus we didn't have to transport our heavy machine to some repair shop. He got our snow blower up and running quickly. He was a great communicator and professional. He gave us a great explanation of his repair plus some suggestions for the future. He even asked us to let him know how it's working after it snows tomorrow. He's a friendly, local entrepreneur who we highly recommend! Thanks so much Steve. We'll be sharing your contact info. read more

Steve knows his stuff. Had my pressure washer's carburetor cleaned out in no time and it's running great. Nice guy and professional.

We've used Steve for tuning up our lawn mower and pressure washer - great customer service! He did the work right in our driveway, and it was easy to pay him through Venmo. If you need a tune up or repair on any small engines in your garage, I would highly recommend Steve! read more

Steve was awesome. He came out to the house and fixed our snowblower for a reasonable rate. He was knowledgeable, skilled, quick and nice.

Steve was very quick to respond to my inquiry about repairing my snowblower. He gave a very reasonable estimate and set up and appointment. He was very knowledgable, professional and friendly. He fixed the snowblower incredibly quickly and even had tips for us to keep the snowblower operating efficiently. He also has a 30 day guarantee on his work. I had a chainsaw that would not run. Steve accurately diagnosed it over the phone and thought he'd be able to fix it quickly. We scheduled an appointment for him to come over to my house for the repair. He arrived on time and was able to get the saw running very quickly. He also helped me understand what was wrong, which was a carburetor out of adjustment, and how to fix it on my own in the future. So much nicer than having to lug equipment to a small engine repair center and wait weeks for a repair! read more

Although super busy because of the huge snow we got recently Steve returned my call, even though he suspected I would already be looking for another option to repair my snowblower. It turns out I was able to get it running again but I will be contacting Steve after the season for a tune up. read more

Steve come to you and saves you from hauling your snowblower, or lawn mower to the shop! Steve was earlier than expected for our appointment time (he called to confirm early was OK!) and he got our 25 year old John Deere snowblower fully tuned up and running great after having been idle in an outdoor shed for 3-4 years. He is very knowledgable and super easy to deal with, and his fee I consider to be very reasonable. He also backs up his work for 30 days! I'd recommend Steve's Small Engine Repair to anyone looking for help with getting/keeping your tools running great. read more

Oh no, the snow was coming and my snow blower would not start! It worked fine last winter. Well, after shoveling for a couple of hours after the first significant snow fall this season, I knew I didn't want to use the shovel again, the next time. One good point about Steve is that he comes to you. No loading the heavy machinery into your car, taking it somewhere and waiting a few weeks for it to get repaired and then loading it back into your car to take it home. Steve came right to my garage, got my snow blower working in just a few minutes and he also showed me how to do all the things he did so that I can also do it in the future, if needed. I will call Steve again. read more

First time using Steve to set up my snowblower for the season. Would recommend this anyone who needs small engine repair or tuneup.
