The on-site restaurant is excellent, offering delicious local dishes. The hotel doesn't charge extra for minors sleeping in existing beds. Rooms are tastefully decorated and well-equipped with a hair dryer, mini fridge, a spacious safe that fits a 15" laptop, a great shower, and more. There's also a lovely swimming pool, though we didn't get a chance to use it. We stayed in floor 1, it was quiet. The hotel is just a short taxi ride from the train station (about €11) and the old town (around €13). The only downside for short trip is needing to take a taxi to and from the city center--but it's fast and easy. The front desk can call a cab that typically arrives within 10 minutes. Outstanding service from the front desk staff--friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

The restaurant food was a true culinary experience (get the oxtail ravioli and start with their soups and Croquetas), good selection of excellent local wines. Good parking (use taxis to go to town). The rooms are noisy though (hear people moving furniture and steps of upper floor). Also, should have more comfortable sitting (lounges) outside the bar to read a book while enjoying the spectacular view.

Pros: Beautiful hotel and the best view off the terrace…read morebalcony in all of Toledo Great, nice staff at front desk Very good price Very close to cathedral Historic hotel Good A/C Ok mattresses Very clean Cons: Small rooms Thin walls No mini-refrigerator in room Tiny square shower Wifi was spotty Breakfast was weird, all guests had extremely limited choices (bread w/ham & tomato or w/Jam, coffee, juice) but you still had to give your order to one waitress who brought it to the one "chef" and they served one table at a time like this, we saw boxes of American cereal but we too intimidated by our slightly surly older waitress to ask Overall: would recommend, we had top floor with balcony- picturesque vistas, maybe go out for breakfast? We could not due to a time factor.

We stayed here while in Toledo, Spain and it's beautiful. It has a contemporary rustic charm to it,…read morewhich we really enjoyed. It's tucked away in a neighborhood away from the touristy area. It is a restored building, originally from the 1300's, and they did a wonderful job renovating it into a modern hotel. Very clean, quiet, and the rooms are fairly spacious for a European hotel room. (Some others we stayed in were about as small as my closet.) The staff was very friendly and spoke English. (We tried our best to speak Spanish, but thankfully we didn't have to here.) There was free WiFi and an optional breakfast that we purchased. For breakfast we had a traditional Spanish tostada which was crusty fresh bread with tomato puree, olive oil, and manchego cheese. We don't eat ham, but usually it comes with ham. The freshly squeezed orange juice and cafe con leche were fantastic too. My only complaint was that the bed was too firm for our liking. We found this to be true everywhere we stayed in Spain. I guess Americans like softer beds.

So I must admit that I was SUPER-worried about this hotel not having air conditioner turned on yet!…read more It seems they REALLY want you to feel you are living in medieval times! So, while I am unhappy about the air conditioning situation, which I feel is stupid and they should have a room allowed to be able to control year-round, I will focus on the more positive aspects! Thank GOD the evening was not as hot as the day! Also, "opening up the windows" takes away from privacy as the city is right below you! Speaking of the location, does NOT get any better! You can walk all of Toledo from the front door! I mean, for God's sake, I overlooked the Alcazar, which they light up at night! :) - Magical! Am I being over-generous in my review? Yes, only because I feel this place is slightly underrated. The location is great, it definitely has a rustic feel and is appropriate for this city! The place isn't a dump, it is a four star hotel with no air conditioning! I would comfortably say this hotel could easily be rated 4 stars (accurately) if they would place a temperature control in each room! Location is fantastic (does not get better), the rooms are clean and seem to all have a decent or semi-decent view and if you get breakfast included, it is quite yummy! The hotel is definitely worth a consideration to stay in if spending the night in Toledo! One night is plenty! The Wifi was also good but there were very little outlets to plug things in the room.

We ordered quickly and we received the worst food we have had in Spain. Both my food and my buddy's food was cold. I do not recommend going to this place at all. I never write reviews but this place was such a bad experience that I'm writing this one now. Stay away!

Hmm, I had mixed feelings about this hotel. We decided to book because of its stellar reviews on…read morebookings.com or one of those third party travel websites. The pictures of the view looked fantastic. I had read before on tripadvisor that you can easily walk to town within fifteen minutes. We are both pretty fit young adults and had trouble completing the walk from the hotel to the city center. Maybe you can get to the outskirts of town within 15 minutes but it takes about 30 minutes waking to the main museum. Also, when it is 80+ weather, the walk is even more miserable. We were stupid enough not to get a taxi so we ended up hauling our luggage from the train station to this hotel. Long story short, we both were really tired after the walk. The hotel in itself is pretty old. The floors were really gritty so I recommend that you wear flip flops or shoes. They did not provide enough blankets. At night the weather gets pretty chilly in the 60s but we only got a thin layer of blankets. I ended up turning the heater on but then it became too hot so I woke up in the middle of the night to turn it off. Not having enough blankets disturbed my sleep. Lastly, I had mixed feelings about the hotel staff. There is a female and male front desk person. The woman is terribly nice and helpful. The guy, however was not. The day that we checked in, we asked the woman if we could leave our luggage with the hotel after we checked out the next day for a couple of hours. She said without hesitation that this was not a problem. The next morning, we went to the office to drop off our luggage. We got the dude who looked peeved that we were going to leave our baggage w him. He first said, you don't have a car? Then he said, "we don't have room for you to leave your luggage here." I told him what the woman had said the day before and he looked annoyed that we were asking him to do this and reluctantly said that we could it next to the cabinets in front. He said that he was mostly there but sometimes stepped away. He did not give us the assurance that our baggage would be watched or taken care of. Instead, he gave us the impression that he would not be responsible in case our stuff was stolen. But what could we do? We had no car. For the rest of the day, I felt uneasy worrying about whether or not my stuff would be gone at the end of the day. Had he been willing and exuded confidence that our stuff would be watched (like the other employee) I would never had worried. Btw, when we went back to pick up our luggage, he retrieved them from a spare hotel room. What happened to not having any space? If you have a car and can deal w a little dirtiness, this place is for you. It is affordable and you get a spectacular view. The positives were that the view was breathtaking just like the pictures listed. The breakfast was also pretty yummy. They offer plenty of delicious seasonal fruit and provide yummy pastries. The restaurant faces Toledo so it is absolutely a gorgeous view.

Would stay here again, if looking for a view on a budget.
