Small mall by river in Bilbao. Not far from the Guggenheim Museum. Three or four levels of shops…read moreand restaurants. It's a nice and modern as far as decor. There's a parking garage below as well. The first two hours are free. Vans, H & M, a sun glasses store, a candy store, Tattoo and Piercings place, and a bunch of other places. There's also a movie theater here and a few sit down restaurants and a few fast food places. There is a supermarket on the lower level as well which is very convenient.

And this parking here is a great place to drop your car. There are plenty of metered spots. Wide enough as well. Easy to access, feels safe, nice location at the river. And only an easy 10' stroll to the famous beach. Prices were fair for a downtown parking lot. Would park here again. But it gets full pretty fast.

This is officially the only free parking lot at San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. There are others, but…read moreactually only for staff, restaurant and Hotels guests (which doesn't stop many visitors from using them anyways). This lot here - as said - is free. And that is quite surprising for this kind of famous site. There are only a handful of spots and there's a free public bathroom right there and also a small tourist information. Of course the spots here are sought after. You need a bit of patience...and some luck, since other cars will try to squeeze by, even you've been there first. We got lucky and only waited about 10 minutes. Stayed for over three hours...free of charge. Car was safe here, there's no shade though. But it's cool up here in the north anyways. The spots aren't the biggest ones, with our minivan we mangaged fine, but an SUV will have problems. Many cars park just along the main road, but try to get on this lot if possible, it's safer, since there's an awful lot of traffic on the road.

If you don't mind a walk (and wanna see the beach at the same time), then this parking lot is a good option. It's easy, it's safe and there are plenty of lots. Be aware that - as in many spanish towns - they check the meters quite often, be sure to make it back in time. It's only about a 10' walk from here to the town center. But with lots of stairs, not a good option if you have a stroller or wheelchair, you could go the long way around though, but that at least doubles the time. But for us it was fine. It's cheaper than in the center and it's easy to find an empty spot. There is also a public free toilet not far from here.
