And from here you easily can get into Plentzia and also to the beach without the need to repark. We came on a weekend and there was plenty of spaces left. Many folks try to get one of the rare free parking lots in town. But these will be taken, except you get really lucky. Instead of wasting precious time to find a spot, just drop your care here. Of course there's a price tag to it: it's 10 Euros for the whole day. But it's money well spent. Lots of spaces, big enough for SUVs, it's safe, it's convenient. Sadly no spaces in the shade on hot days. Besides that a perfect spot. Be aware: the Parking Attendants here are on patrol the whole time. You will definitely get a hefty ticket if you don't pay at the meter (cash or credit).

It is in the basement and I worry about the person who works here since the area he waits in did not look too comfortable or well lit. He was still super nice though!

This day we came back, but not for the beach but for the walk up to the Faro de Gorliz, the Lighthouse. And this parking lot is really just across the street from where the trail up to the Faro starts. It's the best option. There are even toilets right there and the carpark also provides some spots with nice shade for hot sunny days. Of course it's also a good spot if you visit the beach. It's close to the waterpark for the kids and there are less visitors here at the northern end of the beach. Parking costs 5 Euros for four hours or 10 Euros for the whole day. Be sure to pay because it's patrolled here regularly.

Of course the spots here are sought after. You need a bit of patience...and some luck, since other cars will try to squeeze by, even you've been there first. We got lucky and only waited about 10 minutes. Stayed for over three hours...free of charge. Car was safe here, there's no shade though. But it's cool up here in the north anyways. The spots aren't the biggest ones, with our minivan we mangaged fine, but an SUV will have problems. Many cars park just along the main road, but try to get on this lot if possible, it's safer, since there's an awful lot of traffic on the road.
