Yanaguana is one of the best (if not the best) kid playground/park in the city!…read more Yanaguana Garden is located within Hemisfair. The park itself includes multiple sections for all ages including the main playground which was designed to be an inclusive space and follows the American Disabilities Act standards for public playgrounds. A new toddler play area which is perfect for babies and toddlers. There is also the Union Pacific splash pad which is only open during certain months of the year, so make sure to check their calendar for hours. They also have a sand play area, as well as another section with small games like ping pong, chess and many more games. Overall, this garden/park offers a wide range of outdoor activities for people of all ages. I've been taking my kid here since he was born and as he is growing and exploring new areas of Yanaguana I can truly see how well thought off this park is. To all the locals that don't travel to downtown too often, I would definitely recommend giving this park a chance before winter comes. Also, for all the tourists coming with little ones that need the space to run around for a couple of hours, this is most definitely the spot for you!

Beautifully maintained clean park for the entire family, friends catching up, or just chilling out…read moresolo. There's separate picnic tables by the Kimpton hotel side that's great for a quick meal too. Lots of splash pads and shaded areas with chairs for the parents to watch from a distance. Bathrooms aren't super clean but I think there's other spots less frequented where babies/toddlers can go for a quick change of clothes. Parking is going to be a challenge on the weekends but paid parking isn't too far away.

It's a very special place in San Antonio, so take your time and take everything in! Beautiful spot for walking, biking, or walking your dog. Not sure how long the paved loop around the lake is, but if you feel like walking further, the trail connects to the West Side Creeks Greenway trails (also paved) on both the north end of the loop and the south end of the loop. https://www.sanantonio.gov/portals/0/Files/Parks/Facilities/Trails/Greenway/WestsideCreeks.pdf Make sure you check out Bird Island while you are at the park. Two types of egrets and cormorants have literally taken over the island. If you walk around to the far side of the lake you can get pretty close to it, and depending on the time of year, you might spot some baby Snowy Egrets hanging out with their mammies and pappies. One thing you should really look for is the Fueax Bois stage and sitting area. It's an art style that creates things made of concrete but you would swear up and down they are made of wood. Many of these are scattered in various places around town and were created by the same craftsman many years ago - hint - several of them are located at the Japanese Tea Gardens. Read the placard - it is a very interesting story. Also, near the Fueax Bois stage and sitting area are some recently added sitting areas that are adorned with mosaic tile artwork. This is the same area with the "Rejuvenation" engraving on the walkway that Daniel C. mentioned in his review. Make sure you read his review - he had a very eloquent take on this engraving and he's spot on with his comment! Take the entire loop around the lake to view the murals painted on the other side of the dam walls - it's not graffiti, it was city sponsored. BBQ grills and picnic tables scattered in various spots along the walkways (who the heck decided to put ALL the picnic tables and grills in the sun???). The park has portapotties and some real facilities with running water, but the real facilities were locked up when I was there. They have a play ground and a splash pad for the rugrats. Three parking lots around the lake. One on Commerce St just east of 24th Street, one o an Buena Vista, and on on 19th St. Google Maps took me to the intersection of Commerce St and 24th St and said I was there. So be aware of this. Yes, fishing is allowed - they even have a pier.

This is the first time I've been to the park and can definitely confirm there are alot of different birds here, including ducks. There was plenty of parking thankfully and not overly crowded when we came. The path itself was very easy and you basically walk around this big lake. They also do have plenty of seating around and saw many people there fishing. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was that there was alot of trash. Some parts of the trail were decent but you could still see the place isn't really kept up with cleaning which is a shame. Even on the path I saw this random bed spring that was kinda random. Overall it wasn't a bad park but wish they kept it cleaned up would have enjoyed it more.

The game was started with them giving us general rules. And then the fun started! Once in the room, you watch a short video to give you insight into to what your mission is. Once you've started the game, they were in touch via 2-way radio the whole time. And they made clear that anyone could leave the room at any time, and rejoin at any time...which was cool, since we had some people worried about getting claustrophobic. Nobody had to use that option, btw. The clues were hard to find/decipher at times, but they try to lead you in the right direction over the 2 way radio. Plus, they give a certain allotment of clues that you can ask for. Once you get the jist of it, it gets easier......but nothing is simple. To think that Isaac, the owner, came up with the games on his own, is mind blowing! We came within TWO clues of solving the puzzle and escaping......SO CLOSE!!!!! But, we didn't make it :-( 5 more minutes, and would have. If you're looking for a great time with friends,or a team building experience, I would highly recommend! We'll be back for sure!
