I purchased a used refrigerator from the DAV. and the fan in the freezer would not stop running. I called a local appliance shop who recommended Mike. Mike arrived and replaced the motor in the freezer. He showed me what was going on inside the freezer and was so knowledgeable. But the fan kept running day after day even after the refrigerator and freezer had food inside. I realized that something else was wrong. I had someone from the home-warranty recommended come look at the refrigerator/freezer the first time it broke -- so happy that the warranty expired the NEXT day. But by the time that guy showed up, the problem wasn't evident. Rather than checking for what might cause an intermittent problem, the guy said, "I can't fix something that's not broken and left." Warranty lapsed and two months later the cooling broke down again, along with the water and ice. Enter Magic Mike from Apache Appliance. He took his time, found the broken fan for the cooling system, had one in the truck and fixed it right away. Then we were both surprised to realize the ice/water dispenser was a completely separate problem. That part needed ordering, but was still fixed within a week. It wasn't cheap, but he gave us a bit of a break for the two calls, and was a lot better than a new unit. Best of all, when the icemaker didn't dispense, he counseled a couple of self-help techniques to declog it (run a hot hair dryer over it) and when that didn't work right away, he counseled patience rather than immediately running up another fee. My medical office's 3 yr old refrigerator failed after a terrible electrical storm. I am diligent regarding researching service companies. After a detailed search, I called Apache Appliance first based on their many positive reviews. Mike answered my call and told me that he was a little backed up and could not get to my location for few days. He offered a couple quick fix solutions that I could try on my own and asked that I reach back out to him to see if they worked. I was out of town and my employees tried, but to no avail. I reached back out to Mike and he scheduled a time around my schedule. Mike showed up on time and was able to hook up his electronic device and after a few minutes cleared the myriad of error codes and got us up and running in no time. I am writing this because Mike is honest and tried to fix it over the phone first for no charge, referred another local company if I could not wait for him and ultimately showed up found the most affordable solution to fix our refrigerator. I'm sharing this in case any of you run into the same problem. I cannot praise Mike at Apache Appliance Repair highly enough. I called him yesterday on recommendations here and on Nextdoor. . My three year old Kitchenaid Fridge was barely producing water from the door dispenser, and made a thumping noise while trying to run. Mike called me just a little while ago and asked some questions, one of which was when I had last replaced the filter, which was two months ago.Mike thought it might be the water valve, he told me it would be about $200 for part and labor. Mike suggested I try taking the filter out to see if the dispenser would run without it. It didn't but when I put the filter back in, and tried the water, I got quite a bit for a few seconds, until it stopped again. I repeated the process, same result. It suggested to me that the problem might be with the filter itself. Luckily I had bought a three pack this last time. I switched the filter out for a new one, and voila! Water! I just had to fill a 32oz. glass a couple of times to clear out the charcoal. Mike was clearly knowledgeable, and so helpful and honest to suggest it might be the filter, to save me some money. Not every repair tech has that kind of integrity. I hope I don't have need of appliance repair In the future, but if I do, Apache Appliance Repair will be my first call. read more

This guy Mike is verbally abusive and unreliable. He took out his irresponsibility on me over the phone, did not show up twice to fix my 96 yr old mother's refrigerator. Calls at last minute and says he changed his mind and doesn't want to work for her. Broken fridge in middle of July is not fun. Also changed his prices 3 times trying to get more out of my poor old mother. Call someone else. This guy needs to be run out of town. He's not licensed and probably owes the IRS a bunch of $$. read more

I made an appointment to have my washer looked at today. The appointment was scheduled to be between noon and 1pm, but they were running ahead of schedule and arrived shortly after 11am. I really appreciate the fact that I was called ahead of time to make sure that moving my appointment time up was okay. What makes the service I received from Apache Appliance Repair so outstanding is how he went above and beyond what I asked for. He reversed the door on my dryer so it would be easier to transfer clothes from the washer to the dryer, and the dryer doesn't wobble anymore, either. The best part was that he did it all without tacking on a lot of extra charges--I paid for the service call, a belt for the washer, and a clamp to hold the dryer vent in place. Apache Appliance Repair will definitely be the only company I call if I need an appliance repaired in the future. read more

Our dishwasher stopped draining near the end of the cycle and it was emitting a terrible burning plastic odor. We called Mike on a Monday & he was here Tuesday morning. When we told him we had broken a glass in the unit he immediately suspected a problem with debris in the pump. He found some pieces inside the pump & cleaned it out but checked several other parts before reinstalling the pump. The dishwasher was tested a couple of times to make sure it functioned without any odors or leaks. Mike was thorough and honest and did everything to avoid us having to purchase a new pump. read more

Mike with Apache was recommended to me by friends who have used him for years. I called him because the oven on my stove that was only 1 1/2 years old wasn't working. He told me to unplug the stove for 45 minutes and see if that would re-set everything. It worked and didn't cost me anything! He could have made me wait a few days until he could come out and then charged me for a service call, but he didn't do that. Mike (owner) is a reliable and professional individual. I called Mike on Memorial Day 2015 because we needed the dishwasher working before we left our newly purchased Prescott home to head back to California the following day. I did not expect Mike to answer his phone on a holiday, rather I expected to leave a message and hope he would call back. Instead he did answer the phone and he was at our home on Memorial Day. He had the needed part and had the dishwasher working within 30-40 minutes. Very reasonable charges and he also gave us some recommendations for other services we needed and those also worked out very well. We were brand new to Prescott so we had no contacts for needed services. We needed to get several issues taken care of that weekend because we planned to rent the home out until we could officially retire and move-in. We had no idea the dishwasher was not working so this was a last minute repair need. Mike was awesome and he's now our go to repairman for our Prescott home. We highly recommend him, and I believe (but I don't know for sure) he is a one man business, so I would think you will always be dealing directly with Mike. read more
