As a small school it's tough for us to build and maintain a pool of subs, because we can't offer daily work. When the idea of a shared substitute pool through a temp agency came up, I was concerned that with the teacher shortage we would not get good candidates. Not all the candidates are teachers, but they are able to communicate with middle schoolers, which is a great quality. TES took on the task of advertising and recruiting candidates and uses it's dedicated staff to make calls to subs quickly and efficiently. This has taken the burden of filling missing staff positions out of the hands of my very busy clerical staff, which saves us time and stress. We have been able to build up a group of subs that we know and trust and are able to select them first. I have been pleased with the quality of candidate that we receive and the frequency that positions are filled. I know it's tough to find subs and many districts struggle, but an unfilled position is a rarity in our building which makes teachers happy. Happy teachers make happy Principals! I've worked with several members of the TES team over email and on the phone and they have been responsive, understanding and prompt in finding solutions. I finally had to find a new agency for my employees due to the incredibly unprofessional interactions with Laurie Brown and Ashley Brown. These two have absolutely no concept of what Customer Service means or how to provide it. They are rude and consistently demonstrated an extreme indifference to the needs of my employees. Save yourselves a whole lot of frustration!! Stay away from this "employment agency"!!
