Dr Taylor is wonderful. Watch out for the cranky girls on the front desk though!

Doctors. They're not as sexy as a great cocktail or decadent restaurant indulgence, but as sure as…read moredeath and taxes, chances are you'll need to call upon the services of a GP at some point. And when that point comes you want them to be great. I feel pretty confident I've found that in the team at Market Street Medical. I mean, when was the last time your doctor called you to say your doctor was running late to save you sitting in the waiting room for 30-40mins? Sure, it throws your day out but at least you can do something else in those 30-40mins rather than sit captive reading Country Style or House & Garden. I waited several months to see Dr Maintsone (she's that much of a rockstar she has a hefty waiting list) after recommendation from a friend who, with similar plights to my own, sung her praises. After the first visit with Dr Mainstone I understood why. She's considerate, understanding and sees issues as pieces of a greater puzzle. I feel she's genuinely interested in the health of her patients and I appreciate her commitment to looking at the bigger picture rather than always reaching for a quick fix. It is because of Dr Mainstone I was able, towards the end of 2013, gain some closure and context around a few medical issues and finally not feel like I was the crazy one for talking of such symptoms. They are more expensive than other GPs I've visited and I personally am okay with this for the level of treatment and attention I receive. They process your Medicare claim online in the practice and you'll be amazed how fast that money is back in your piggy bank.

I have to agree with Lani, Market Street Medical is fantastic. I've been seeing Dr Mainstone and…read morecan't speak highly enough of her. It's such a nice change to be treated with respect and care.

I once went to a doctor that prescribed me anti-histamines when I had pneumonia. As a result I got asthma, and I've been very cautious about choosing a cheap, bulk-billed doctor. Central Brunswick Centre is not bulk-billed, but it is rebated by Medicare, so your average cost for a consultation is about $30. The staff are super friendly and you don't have to wait too long when you book an appointment. When it comes to your health you can never be too careful but I wouldn't trust anywhere else.

Central Brunswick Medical Centre is gay friendly, and the majority of doctors are gay themselves. So a lot of the LGBT community are patients here and can get sexual advice and check ups in a comfortable environment. I'm straight but I come here because the doctors, receptionists and facilities are amazing. I've been to a few doctors here. Ken Koh is very helpful, and when I left the appointment he even called me on his private office line to double check whether or not I'd had certain vaccines. Fiona Bishop is fantastic, and is always on high demand. When I first wanted to come to this clinic she wasn't taking on any new patients, but six months later I somehow managed to weasel my way onto her regular patient's list. She's compassionate, but firm, and made me piss myself when I walked in with a nasty virus and she spent our entire consultation with a face mask on. (I was very contagious.) James Kennedy is a sweetheart and has a lovely Irish accent that will make you forget all of your ails. The nurse is also incredibly kind and considerate. My ears get blocked often so I come here to get them flushed out. Having water flushed into your middle ear isn't exactly pleasant and can leave you feeling nauseous, so the nurse sat and chatted with me while the room stopped spinning. Some important things to note: - You're able to claim most of the bill back through medicare, and the ladies at reception can help you set things up so those returns are paid directly to your account. - There's a pathology clinic down the hall so you can get your tests done in one hit. - If you're catching public transport, this place can be a bit difficult to find. Walk past Grill'd, then past Video Ezy, walk up two flights of stairs and it's straight ahead on your left.

Once I had arrived, I had to wait an hour and a half for my appointment. I was having nerve trouble. The doctor did not investigate my condition at all. I was told that there was little to be done. I left in pain with no advice as to where to seek help next. I have since found relief for my nerve complaints- after thorough investigation. As I was leaving, I checked in at the desk and had a bill for $70 handed to me. I informed the receptionist that I had been told prior to my appointment that this medical centre bulk billed students. With hesitation, she allowed to leave without paying. If you need a travel injection or a script filled, this is a convenient place to come to.

I specifically told him we need a referral to the OBGYN at the hospital and he said WE SHOULD GO TO THE OUT PATIENT CLINIC AT THE HOSPITAL! He did no referrals and asked us to come back on Friday. He gave no advice! Aside from that, he SNEEZED TWICE WITHOUT COVERING HIS MOUTH!!! Not even saying an excuse or what. Clearly, he may be unwell. As a doctor, he should be wearing a mask or risk spreading the flu. My wife is pregnant and he handed her 2 pieces of paper with his dirty hands. He risked the health of my wife and baby, unforgivable! I called in yesterday and was told bulk billing was available and I made an appointment. But after seeing Dr Brian House for less than 5 minutes, we were told to pay $80 and claim $40 from Medicare. Unethical!!!
