After reading the reviews regarding the gym and how responsive and engaged the owner was, I figured it would work. I sent an email with a few questions that was replied to within an hour. I went through the brief online registration process and Griffin set up my activated key fob to be left in a lockbox as I would be arriving after staffed hours. After using this gym for the past few days, I've realized it's the perfect balance between a hardcore gym where weights are being tossed around left and right, and a PF where you are very limited. The place is spotlessly clean, has a great selection of modern equipment, and the owner Griffin clearly understands that customer service/experience is key. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

I woke up on New Years day at 7 a.m. and checked my bank account as I had no money and was expecting my check. My money was there. I got to the gym and I had been locked out. Fob not working. I called the gym a few times and of course nobody answered as it was New Years Day. I left a voice-mail stating I was upset and left my name and number. I receive no call back. I call my self on January 2nd at 8:45a.m. Phone rang several times then the Manager Nick answered. I asked him what happened. He said I didn't pay on the 1st so he had to lock me out. I didn't tell him there was $1600 in my account all day on the first. I guess this guy gets up at 1a.m. or something and does this. I believe he did it on the 31st and then lied about it. Point blank. He has taken the money early before. I immediately said cancel my membership. He said "OK". No apologies no explanation. Let's say it auto debits at midnight. OK. Tell me there has been an issue. Not at Doc's. Is it your day off on a holiday? Too bad. Door locked. Nick will get back to you when he feels like it. No grace period. I joined Northland Fitness. There is a grace period. ​​​Doc's gym is consistently dirty and equipment is constantly broken. Huge management problem. Hey owner. Call me when you have a new manager. This dudes not managing your business very well.

Should be renamed to Planet Fix This!…read more It was a nice new gym but now is in rapid decline. Machines are left unrepaired and inoperable for weeks at a time. Vinyl on many of the machines is cracked, abrasive and worn. It seems like there is a tipping point before they affect repairs. I.E. no repairs until at least 10 machines need work. When they first opened, they had a number of issues with regard to cleanliness, employee engagement and safety, but things have definitely improved in that regard. The employees are far more engaged, friendly and hard working now. That being said, and because of the decline in equipment safety and operation, as a healthcare provider, I'm not sure that I can in good conscience recommend this place to my patients. I think with perpetuated effort and more frequent repairs, they could reach 4 or 5 stars.

Classes often fill up so early(you can sign up the day before.) that if you get to the gym on Monday at 6:00a.m. to sign up for a Tuesday class-too bad. Ariel, the coach did a great job with the class and was both attentive and helpful. Athletes in the class were very friendly and supportive. It felt like a fun community. Aerial appears to offer more than CrossFit. Duluth is very fortunate to have a gym of this caliber, knowledgable coaches and friendly people.

I'm there multiple times a week and am consistently impressed by the friendly staff, cleanliness of the space and that everyone is respectful of one another.
