I was originally going to put together my own bouquets but so glad I spent the money. They were very reasonable and the quality was amazing. I heard from guest after guest after guest that our flowers were the most beautiful flowers they had ever seen at a wedding. My mother was so pleased with Kristen & Sarah's work she wanted to take every flower back home to Massachusetts with her after the wedding. Kristen and Sarah covered the spectrum. My bouquet was remarkable, they put together gorgeous arrangements for our rehearsal dinner & wedding, and they even decorated barn doors we made that were supposed to be on the lawn for our reception. Unfortunately by mid afternoon the forecast was looking terrible, and they rearranged the flowers and greenery inside the tent and created another masterpiece. I have never seen anything more spectacular! They were so easy to work with and super responsive. I highly recommend them for all your floral needs!

The only strange thing about Strange's is the fact that it doesn't have better reviews. The…read morecustomer service and plant selection at the Mechanicsville location is wonderful! When my girlfriend and I moved recently, one of our goals (in true broke hipster fashion) was to fill up the new house with as many plants as possible. We had made a couple trips to Lowe's, but were disappointed in how much they were charging for such a small selection of plants, many of which appeared to be already dying. We had no idea that Strange's was only a few minutes away from our new house until I searched Yelp for nearby nurseries, and we decided to check it out despite the mediocre reviews. The employee at the front counter greeted us and directed us to the houseplants, which were all stored in the massive greenhouse next door. They were largely sorted by species, but there were also several smaller sections for everything you could possibly need or want: low-maintenance plants, pet-safe plants, air-purifying plants, etc. Many of the tables also had signs that briefly explained how much water, sun, and care a given plant would need to thrive. Thanks to these useful bullet points and the straightforward layout of the store, it only took us about twenty minutes to pick out our perfect plants. When we went to check out, we spoke with another employee to make sure that everything we were about to buy would survive under the care of two first-time plant moms, and thankfully she assured us that all of our new babies would be fine. We ended up spending $150 on about a dozen plants and succulents, which would've only gotten us two and a half palm trees at Lowe's. All of the plants we got are thriving, and Strange's helpful signs and employees played a huge part in that. We'll definitely be returning here when we decide to expand our indoor jungle. Obviously, I can't speak to the delivery side of Strange's, but if you're looking for quality houseplants in RVA, this place is a one-stop-shop.

I am extremely disappointed with our experience, especially because these flowers were ordered for…read moremy stepmother's funeral--an occasion where there is no opportunity to redo things afterward. We specifically ordered tall, clear glass vases and received short ceramic vases instead. We also specifically requested an all-white flower color scheme, and that is not what we received. Before the service, we expressed concerns about how everything was being handled and were assured that it would all turn out fine. Unfortunately, it did not. What was delivered was not what we ordered or expected for such an important and emotional occasion. We contacted the florist afterward to discuss the problems and give them an opportunity to address the situation. No one returned our call. That lack of response and accountability was especially upsetting considering this was for a funeral and the mistakes could not simply be corrected later. We understand that mistakes can happen. What we cannot understand is failing to communicate with a grieving family after those mistakes are brought to your attention. We paid for specific arrangements for my stepmother's funeral, did not receive what we ordered, and then received no follow-up when we tried to resolve it. I would strongly recommend that anyone ordering flowers for a funeral or other once-in-a-lifetime event make sure every detail of their order is documented and confirmed. Based on our experience, I absolutely do NOT recommend this florist.

A quick internet search showed With Love Flowers just down the road from where we were and that they were open. My wife went in while I stayed with the kiddo in the car. She said the owner was very polite and had lots of flowers in stock. She allowed my wife to go around and pick and put together whatever bouquet she wanted. But she opted to have the lady put it together. She said, festive engagement and check out the picture! This bouquet was beautiful and it cost less than I expected. My cousin absolutely loved it. Several people at the party asked where we went and we gladly told them about this flower shop. We will definitely return here when in the area.
