Teachers are not trained or certified, the environment is always unsanitary, and unprofessional, and they have no budget (they literally fill soap up with water to make it last longer to the point where you're just washing your hands with water), kids get yelled at and even manhandled (being lifted in the air or being grabbed harshly) sometimes when they are not behaving well.

I couldn't have done it without my wonderful tutor, Danielle! Her expert tutelage spanned the processes of helping me through the difficult process of writing a thesis statement and editing the final draft. I at first thought it was odd that they paired me with a history major instead of an English Major for my paper, and although our approaches to complete the task at hand differed slightly, she was great nonetheless. Not only did I gain more confidence in my writing skills upon completing a paper that my professor thought was very well done, I learned how to most efficiently and effectively tackle a large project. I wouldn't have my degree without Danielle and Varsity Tutors!

Parents beware. If your kid has behavioral issues this school can be down right abusive towards…read morethem. I would not recommend sending your kids here. When I attended back in 2016-2017, they sent out an email to parents telling their kids not to be friends with me. What kind of establishment does that? The bullying from the children was bad, but the adults? Far worse. Ms Bailey and Mr O were the worst. I just checked their staff list and Mr O, better known as Curtis Olufson still works here. Curtis would constantly pull me into his office for the smallest infractions and would come up to me in the hallways and lobby with accusatory behavior when I wasn't doing anything wrong. Curtis, since I'm now an adult and can speak to you as one. Screw you. You made my school life hell. I hope that you have changed as a person, since I was a student under you but I doubt it. I sincerely hope that you are not making other students feel the way you made me feel. Parents please be aware of him and ask your students their opinion on him to make sure he isn't targeting them.

Groves has been life changing for my son. He started in fourth grade and now he's in seventh. I…read morenoticed early on that he wasn't reading. Covid shut down for second grade didn't help either. He attended a different private school for third grade, but it didn't fit his needs. But they did help us discover that he had a problem with his eyes and needed eye therapy in order to be able to read. I was very concerned that he had missed the formative years of foundational, reading and writing. This is what led us to Groves. Most of his teachers have been spectacular every year. Extremely nurturing and encouraging. He's made huge strides in reading and writing. He now has so much more confidence and feels very comfortable at the school. The teachers are very communicative with parents. Also, the speech and language tutoring has been very helpful as well. If your child has issues with reading and writing, literacy, and executive functioning, I highly recommend Groves. I am so grateful for this school. They are doing very important work there and helping so many kids.
