After suffering in pain for 3 weeks, taking muscle relaxers prescribed by my doctor and living on Advil, my pain was going in the wrong direction! THEN I visited Dr. Anunson when my pain was going from a 6/10 to 8/10 depending on my activity. After a thorough exam and history, he knew exactly what was going on and said, I can help you. THEN I walked out after the first adjustment with 1/10 pain! I couldn't believe it! Second adjustment the next day, still 1/10 pain with increased range of motion. THEN I noticed my sleep improved which improved my mood. Four days later, 0/10 pain. I can't recommend this clinic high enough. I was treated with kindness and support from every employee. read more

Would not recommend this provider - no instructions on what can be done outside of the clinic to help with pain, no health history during intake, adjustments are quick but done in a public space and without time to ask many questions. I'd echo what Heidi said - "If you have to ask him a question he will answer it, but he will start to back away while talking, heading to his office. He just doesn't seem to want to take any extra time, even though the adjustment, itself, is only about 90 seconds to two minutes." When I asked about the clinic masking policy (staff do not wear masks over their noses, the chiropractors rarely wear masks over their mouth OR nose), Wade was defensive and flippant to my stance on public health concerns. Other patients are not wearing masks and in the small waiting room and office space, there is no area to wait if you are uncomfortable with the set up. Overall, the experience I had at this practice made me feel like just an opportunity for cash rather than a patient. Very disappointing given their lack of coverage with many local insurers and the fact that you may be paying out of pocket $50 for each visit up to 3-4 times a week. read more

I thought I would try to spare others, seeing as how Yelp is how I found this chiropractor: I came here after years of chronic back pain while I was in between jobs. I was uncertain if my insurance would cover the treatments, so asked the billing people to make absolute sure that any work done would be covered. After being assured that the treatments would be covered, I was quickly asked to have X-rays done, and then told I should start coming in 3x per week. It was not until 6 months later that I would be told that the treatments would not be covered, and the 10% of the bill I was promised I would be paying would need to be paid completely out of pocket. Billing dept. admitted that I had been misled but was completely unwilling to do anything about the whopping bill that had accrued. Shady deceptive practice, ineffective work, completely impersonal treatment... I would be very careful about going here. read more

I feel blessed to have my family be in Dr. Anunson's care. He is truly committed to his patients' well being and listens when concerns are shared and offers guidance and explanations. He knows that healing takes place on multiple levels (physical, emotional, etc). I love that Dr. Anunson uses the Activator Method, a gentler and more precise adjustment, as compared to other manual methods of adjustment. My family and myself have benefited greatly from being in his care. My wife no longer struggles with the chronic back pain that had become a normal part of her life. My children used to struggle with asthma and nebulizer treatments and since being under the care of Dr. Anunson they no longer need those treatments. Dr. Anunson is a huge part of my life, he is the best chiropractor I have ever been to and I've been East to west coast traveling for snowboarding. He gets me back on my feet when I am in excruciating pain. I am a very active person and he keeps my body ready for it all. I highly recommend him as a doctor. I'm sure this is the right chiropractor for some people but I was not one of them. I was also paying out of pocket and seeing him 5, then 4, then 3 times a week for several months (per his instruction). I knew we were eventually working on very old alignment issues so I hung in there but there were some things that were really hard to take. He will not take more than 10 minutes with you, for one thing (on the few occasions you are in a private room someone will knock on the door at five minutes and he is gone). He does all adjustments in a public space with three tables so there is no privacy. If you have to ask him a question he will answer it, but he will start to back away while talking, heading to his office. He just doesn't seem to want to take any extra time, even though the adjustment, itself, is only about 90 seconds to two minutes. It also seemed weird to me that I never got instructions about things I might do to help strengthen or loosen my spine. I mentioned core strengthening at one point and he gave me some exercises but never really mentioned it again. The care is all about 'the activator method' so it is really about just coming in for adjustments as often as he says is needed. I really should have paid attention to my gut when we first met. I was in excruciating pain and, as I was leaving he said he really couldn't recommend ibuprofin (which I was using for a few days at that point to be able to get any sleep at all). Despite my crying from pain, he didn't seem to get how bad it was or how desperate I was, or that I needed to sleep. He is passionate about the activator method (had zero recommendations of other chiropractors more convenient geographically - I've never heard of a practitioner not having one person they respect in their field). He is not a very compassionate guy, in general, though. He takes some insurance and is certainly competent, but if you are paying out of pocket or want a practioner who is a good listener, respectful and genuinely interested in your concerns and questions, you might do better with someone else. read more

Before going to Anunson Chiropractic I suffered from chronic lower back pain. I met with Dr. Wade and was instantly impressed with his knowledge of chiropractic care and different treatment methods. I began my treatment and within a couple of weeks I really began to notice a significant decline in the lower back pain that I had been experiencing! With my lower back pain starting to disappear I started to realize that my entire body as a whole was feeling great and my posture improved as well. I am a firm believer in chiropractic care and Dr. Wade would be my first recommendation to anyone who is suffering from severe back pain or someone who is optimistic about chiropractic care. Dr. Anunson has been a godsend to our family. I'm not really sure the other reviewers have met the same man I have because he is warm, genuine, and desperately wants to help his patients in any way that he can. We started seeing Dr Anunson six years ago. My husband in his mid twenties was throwing out his back at least twice a year from old sports injuries (or so he thought). Every doctor he'd been to recommended PT or muscle relaxers (all useless). Dr Anunson actually cared to find out the root of the inflammation causing the spasms in the first place. With some Chiropractic care, digestive enzymes and some dietary changes, my husband hasn't thrown out his back since he began treatment with Dr Wade (I should also mention he doesn't even get adjustments regularly since he travels so often). He also helped me deal with chronic migraines I've been having since the age of 9. I've gotten two MRIs, I've been to neurologists, allergists, taken several medications, and have seen other chiropractors. The only thing that ever made a long term difference was seeking care with Dr Wade. We also began bringing our autistic son to Dr Anunson to see if he could help him. He goes to regular treatments each week and takes a couple of enzymes. We've also made some changes to his diet as well based on Dr Wades recommendations. Our son is a completely new boy. He's finally not getting sick all the time, his tantrums have almost stopped completely and he's saying new words every day when just a few months ago he barely uttered anything. For those complaining about the cost, chiropractic care is cheap in comparison to what you'd pay out of pocket to see an MD... and an MD is only going to treat your symptoms, not address the actual root of the problem or look at your body as one entire being. Insurance companies should have better coverage for things like chiropractic care and the fact that they don't isn't Dr Anunson's fault. He charges a fair rate for his services and makes sure customers don't spend all day waiting around to be seen (again, unlike MDs). We would highly recommend him to anyone! read more

Dr. Wade Anunson at Anunson Chiropractic is my goto person and place when anyone in my family needs care. Whether it's a headache, a cold, back pain, ear aches, seizures, gastro intestinal issues, recovering from brain surgery (true story), or any type of trauma incurred on young (babies) or older (senior citizens) bodies, Dr. Wade has always provided healing, by way of an adjustment, and advice and/or instruction, when asked. I have been getting chiropractic treatment for nearly 20 years, have gone to a dozen different chiropractors who practice different methods, but have found the Activator method the best for my family and me. With the use of a small hand instrument, Dr. Wade is able to adjust the spine in a very gentle, easy, and honestly, less scary manner. There is no quick twisting of your neck or back, and audible "cracking" noises. None whatsoever. Comparitively, I have found that I hold my adjustments for a longer amount of time. I have a two children. My oldest has special needs: a rare seizure disorder, autistic, non-verbal. Dr. Wade has helped him tremendously when it comes to his central nervous system.. helping calm the spine and his brain as best as possible in a heightened situation. He's had a few brain surgeries and Dr. Wade always assisted in his recovery. My youngest, who's 6-years-old, knows when he is in need of an adjustment because something doesn't feel quite right. Both of my boys have been getting chiropractic care since they were 2 days old. Dr. Wade is in the business of caring for people and making them better as best as he can. He does not deny the need for traditional western medicine but does his best to get to the root of the problem and fix it, not bandaid it, before having to seek other care which he cannot provide. He stays late at the office, and comes in on weekends, if necessary. He understands that working and wanting to be healthy, to feel better, isn't just a Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm job. Madison is fortunate to have someone with his qualifications and education. He is well connected in the chiropractic world and continues to learn from the very best, and is teaching students as well. After reading the two other Yelp comments from years ago, I felt compelled to write my own. My experience with Anunson Chiropractic has been great. Dr. Anunson is about as knowledgeable as it get when it comes to overall body health. He always takes the time to talk with me about how things are progressing. The activator method might not seem like it's accomplishing much, but it gets to the exact areas where I have issues and isn't nearly as draconian as my previous chiropractor. Most people aren't willing to do the outside work to ensure their overall health so if you're looking for a chiropractor who will tell you what you want to hear and not hold you accountable, this isn't for you. But for those who are looking to make better choices overall, put the work in outside the office, and who believe that popping pills is only masking the real issues and not fixing them, this is the place for you.
