When we took the tour one of the owners walked with us for over an hour and was very thorough and detailed about every aspect of the place. He was very transparent and explained everything exhaustively, I like that. RHCC has a large backyard with playsets, swings, slides, etc. Patient and knowledgeable teachers, the whole place is monitored with cameras, you have to get through two doors (that can only be buzzed open) and the teachers/aides go through a background check. I like security like any parent so this made me feel comfortable. They're flexible on their hours and if your kid isn't potty trained yet they change on premises (if you're comfortable with that.) Plus the thing that sold me the most on the place was the children themselves seemed legitimately happy while they were playing, etc. so that clued me in it wasn't a big act. We'll be taking our child back.

When we were exploring local options, we knew our decision would be based on where we felt he would be 1) safe, 2) healthy and 3) loved. Everywhere we toured, we felt like he'd be safe and healthy. What set Two By Two apart was that we felt like he'd would be cared for by professionals who created genuine, authentic connections - as aunties, as kin. He was so little and our care priorities were more about him feeling seen, heard and addressed. Now that he's approaching Kindergarten, he's getting the same care while also getting support with socialization, learning emotional regulation, and the basics of academics (letter and number recognition, phonics). He has a group of close friends, uses feeling statements and is reading sight words and writing his name. All huge wins without robotic structure or impersonal instruction- which while inevitable in our school systems can wait until the elementary years. Two By Two continues to make progress in communication, family engagement and facilities. We've seen growth here and have been grateful for their request for feedback and impressed to see it implemented. Considering our care priorities and the experience that our son and we have had here, we will continue to recommend Two By Two to our neighbors and friends.

Our daughter was in the NICU after she was born and has always struggled with weight gain and her teachers did such a great job making sure she ate well and slept well. We loved that the teachers speak to the children in Japanese. We had to leave the daycare because we moved to North Brooklyn, otherwise would stay as long as possible. We highly recommend Yoko's daycare!

CitiTots is a place that feels like a lovely intimate community in a city that is busy/transient and corporate at times. It felt like Emmie was being looked after by friends/extended family. It's a small place but the staff are so genuine and caring - we will miss everyone here very much!

Other things I appreciated a lot about Cititots include their proactivity in getting the kids outside every day (other daycares we've been at seem to look for excuses not to go out; CitiTots was the opposite), and the way they organize regular events for parents to attend, engage with other families, and get to know the staff. We are really sad to leave this wonderful daycare.

Here's what we like: - Welcoming/warm atmosphere: the staff all seem to genuinely care about every child and support their individual needs. - Curriculum: with babies/young toddlers, we initially just wanted a safe and loving environment for them while we were at work. But we've also enjoyed seeing them learn and grow in every way. New concepts, numbers, the alphabet, etc - and of course, lots of songs - they cover it all. - Activities: art, yoga, "science lab", and Music Together - these have been great for our littles ones. - It's also nice to feel a part of the community, even though we're not Jewish. Many of the families are from different cultures/backgrounds. And it's kind of fun to hear your child pick up bits of Hebrew. The only real drawback is that October can be challenging with so many Jewish holidays (not all of them observed by other NYC schools). But we still love sending our baby and our preschooler to KK.
