Called and asked if I could get my pup in yesterday, but did not want him caged waiting for a groom…read morefor a long time. The receptionist/owner(?) said that if that were the case, I would have to come today at noon. I said fine and arrived on time. Flag #1 Receptionist/owner(?) was very unfriendly, didn't smile, gave no welcome, and was very difficult to understand (accent). The reception area overwhelmed me with aromatherapy, and it took an hour to leave my clothes/hair. Flag #2 - I brought in vaccination paperwork that any reputable groomer would ask for, and she only took a cursory look and said she did not 'keep paperwork.' Flag#3 - Contrary to what was agreed to yesterday, she said if I wanted express service for my pup, I would have to come back at 2 p.m. I agreed. Flag#4 - I arrived on time. They had obviously been busy. A quick peek in the back looked like an explosion of dog hair with a cute little dog still trussed up waiting for someone to complete its groom. My dog is a barker, and she made it clear she didn't like it. She asked a few times if he had ever bitten anyone, and I told her no, but I think he would if hurt. She brought him to the back, and shortly after, I heard my pup give 2 yelps like he was hurt. She came back out and said she thought he was going to bite and wanted to use a muzzle (never needed one before), and maybe if I went back, I could calm him. An older man was standing with him, and the pup was obviously in distress. Told them it was just not working out and left.
