Opticians usually gamble on the combination of corrections and the result has always been so-so. But optician Johannes got it just right. He seems to have an uncanny sense of what is right for you. If you are used to the big optician names and tired of the impersonal treatment you get here, then hesitate not a second and visit this store.

Stumbled upon this place on my way back from brunch and decided to inquire about getting new glasses. Jonathan was super helpful and told me that as soon as I sent him a photo of my prescription, he could have a new pair of glasses for me within an hour or so and at a fraction of other eyewear/opticians. Plus, they had beautiful brand name frames which I decided to go with because my last no name brand $8 frames did not last long. I came back a couple hours later, Jonathan adjusted my new glasses for me and I walked out of there with a new pair of Ray Bans :)

Found the two glasses I knew I wanted at the store, as I did my research before. Had a clerk…read morehelping me, then switched to another one for no reason. The lady was very brutal in her comments, "no this frame doesn't fit you", "it looks way too small for your face" "they'Re not going to look good as sunglasses" and stuff. That was okay by itself. Gave my exact prescription, had some measurements done for the eye distance, then asked for the blue light. Made sure she knew I needed the blue light in the regular glasses (not the sunglasses). There was a 50% discount on the 2nd pair, which I DIDN'T get, and couldn'T get once I contacted support. Then, found out they didn't add the blue light. Had to contact support to get it arranged. Told my order would be quickened since one pair had to be redone. Well, I think they really just wanted me to shut up because it's ALMOST been a month since my order was done and I'm still waiting for them. Really pissed. I am currently going through the refund process. Will update this review later.

I have been a patient with Eyecare of Vermont for a long time. I would smile be friendly, what I received in return was luke-warm polite. Then one day I decided to try this little shop on Battery Street. Having found Eyes of the World to have good Yelp reviews, I decided to check them out to get my very old glasses script updated. After the exam, I told the optometrist that I really like things super clear, despite her reluctance to bump me up by so much in each eye. She did, though, against her better judgment, and I went home with my crystal clear new script. A week and a half later now, I still haven't adjusted to the new script and I'm getting headaches. I go back in, totally ready to shell out for another set of lenses (it was my own dang fault that I overrode medical advice) and the optometrist refused to let me pay for the replacement lenses. Cost of doing business, she says, and wouldn't let me pay for the replacements despite repeated insistence. In the immediate term, they earned a big bag of thank-you cookies from a local bakery. In the long term, they won the total loyalty of an appreciative customer. I'm deeply impressed by their customer care, their knowledge of vision care, and their unfailing friendliness. I wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend them to anyone needing new lenses, new frames, and/or eye exams.

First visit, l go get my exam done. The people treating me are very professional. My prescription will change. So l have to get new glasses. I look at the available frames. I picked out a nice gray one (l do not like black frames). They will call back when it is ready. Second visit, arrive at the place, they cannot find my file. They look around, cannot find it. That's not good. Finally they find it. The woman makes the necessary adjustments to my new eyewear. She goes in the back to heat up the backsides of the glasses and adjust them... and brakes the frames!!! Luckily, it was the plastic cover that broke and the frame itself was okay. Glasses still wearable. " I will order you a new frame " she says. They will call back. Third visit, no one smiles at this store. I am not smiling either as, once again, they cannot find my physical file... AGAIN!!! Finally they find it and the woman comes out with the new frames. They are black frames. I truly hate them and this is NOT what l wanted. She then tells me that the gray ones are out of stock (so it was okay to order black ones and change the colour on me, expecting me to be okay with this?) She then tells me that she will order gray ones and call me when they arrive. Five months go by. Yes, FIVE months!!!! I am a patient person but this is a little too long. I call them back. Left a message. They call me back. No news, still no gray frames. Will have to come over and pick up a different set of frames. They could not call me and tell me they did not forget about me? I had to call them back? Fourth visit, guess what? They cannot find my physical file. But they found it in less time than the previous two visits. Me and my wife looked around and we finally set ourselves to another set of frames (not the ones l really want, but it will have to do at this point). Fifth visit, next day. My physical file was ready. Glasses and frames are ready. Adjustments made. I pay the difference and leave. I was extremely disappointed in the treatment of my glasses and frames, after receiving a good service from the professionals (reason why this is two stars and not just one). The mishandling of the order of my frames and glasses, and the lack of follow-up, shows me how some portions of this place is unprofessional. Next exam, l will surely look around for a new professional to see.
