The pizza in this small out in the middle of nowhere place is outstanding. Ample toppings (I get them on top of the cheese) they have them all .....and tons of cheese. The crust is exceptional ... nice burn marks from a hot oven. They also have awesome sandwiches. I think the bread is the best and tastiest in Montana. The brisket and bacon with bbq sauce is my favorite. Antler's is definitely a must stop when in the Big Hole. read more

We are here visiting family in the Bitterroots from Florida. Went to the big hole for some history, and was recommended by my brother to try the pizza at Antlers. OMG! The best pizza we ever had. On 11/20/20 three of us stopped there for pizza and beer after elk hunting. We sat at a table for over 10 minutes while the female bartender sat with another lady on the public side of the bar drinking and smoking. I've had a lot of pizza in my 40 years on this earth, so when people claimed that the Antler Saloon had the best, I was skeptical but had to try it. The saloon is very "small town." When we walked in the residents of Wisdom sort of stared at us. That's o.k. because everyone was really friendly. The walls are decorated with lots of animals and there are a few video poker machines. So we ordered the "Everything" pizza. The server told us that it would indeed have everything on it from anchovies to sauerkraut. We are not picky and got it anyway. It didn't take long before the pizza came out which is surprising because everything takes longer in MT. The pizza was fantastic! The crust was great with that wood oven char to it. (Don't know if it's actually made in a wood oven but it tasted like it.) The cheese was melty and it the toppings were plentiful! It was more than enough for two people. I'm sort of embarrassed that I ate as much as I did, but couldn't stop because it was that good! This was indeed probably the best pizza I've ever had! When we go back to Wisdom, the Antler Saloon will be one of our first stops! read more

Great service. Cool setting. Order the carrot cake shot from Tad. It's amazing. Do yourself a favor and stop in for some beverages. The restrooms are clean, the people are kind, and the drinks are cold. Definitely worth stopping in. read more

This bar was amazingly accommodating when we needed a hot meal in the middle of a snow storm and it was the only place open for 40 miles either direction. Tad is the best. I won't soon forget the experience that out group had here. read more

We explored the pioneer scenic route and stopped here for pizza. I'd have to agree with the other reviewers , their pizza is the best! The crust is the best I've had. The menu is short and simple, but everyone talks about the pizza, so we had to try it. I've tried a lot of pizza; it's like the most ubiquitous food in the northeast. As common as it is though, I feel it's truly difficult to find great pizza. To be honest, I've gotten kind of picky (food snobby) about it over the years, and so I don't eat it often. That said, the three most common styles are probably Greek, New Haven, and the all too rare (for some reason) Italian style, which I tend to prefer. The pizza I'm used to generally falls into one of those three categories, so I was interested to find out what sort the Antler Saloon would offer. We ordered the meat lovers pizza, and I can honestly say it didn't quite match up with any of my aforementioned pizza categories. It wasn't thin like NY or New Haven pizza, nor was it tall and dough-heavy like thick Sicilian. The crust was puffy like some Greek pizza, but it was soft and chewy, not crunchy. I'd say it was more cheese-heavy than what I'm used to, and I personally prefer a bit more sauce, but the taste and texture was great. As for the meat topping, I thought it was tastefully done. Sometimes meat lovers pizza can be so overloaded that it's just gratuitous and unappetizing. This one wasn't merely smothered in bits of low quality meat. Rather, it contained larger, quality pieces of each, applied conservatively, so as not to overwhelm the other ingredients. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this pizza was, and honestly it would beat a lot of the local stuff back east. If you're near Wisdom, fear not because you have a place to go when the pizza craving strikes. read more
