I stumbled upon this store in 2014 on a trip to Paris and found a wonderful little bronze by Theophile Steinlen, the artist famous for his Chat Noir cabaret posters. It has inspired me to write a children's picture book biography of the artist! It was a little like stepping back in time in that store...The storekeeper was very amiable, but did not have a computer, and was unable to accept credit cards. We muddled along in my broken French and his bits and pieces of English -- and I arranged to come back a few days later to pick up the cat (he actually was kind enough to meet me on Bastille Day to complete the transaction).
