Whereas many potters have very similar designs and styles (traditional Alsace), this potter offers some uniquely painted potteries which no one else offers--especially "Mexican" Day of the Dead designs. That'll get another vote from me. Of course, all pottery piece is handcrafted and painted. No factory mass-produced pottery has it's place here. That's a given. Storekeeper lady on the day of our visit was very knowledgeable, nice, courteous and friendly. That'll get another vote from me for being a very good business establishment for sure. If you are in Soufflenheim, you most definitely have to visit here. Remember all stores close for lunch from about noon till about 14:30. That's another given in this neck of the woods. Don't worry there's a very nice restaurant offering traditional Alsacienne cuisine nearby as you wait for stores to open back up!!

Glad that we did not miss seeing this city. It is so beautiful. Took a bus to board a scenic cruise boat through the canals. Incredible! Loved the city views from the boat. Saw the impressive European Parliament building and the Strasbourg Notre Dame Cathedral with its astronomical clock. Bought some cute socks for my daughters and my nurses with pretzels and geese. Strasbourg has a long history with geese. The Strasbourg Goose is celebrated for its Pate de Foie Gras de Strasbourg. Did not try that on this trip. Just bought socks. A charming city in Alsace, France.

Strasbourg in France is beautiful!…read more You know everyone goes to Paris when they think of France but Strasbourg is worth exploring! It is located in Northeastern France in the historical region of Alsace. And since Germany is next door why not take the train and hop on Germany side too! We explored: Strasbourg Cathedral - also called the Cathédrale Notre-Dame but when I hear Notre-Dame I automatically think the one in Paris. They allow a certain amount of visitors to enter the cathedral at a time and I was able to get in as the last person before they closed it for mass. Inside is indeed beautiful and impressive, an outstanding masterpiece of Gothic art. La Petite France - "Little France" I loved this historic district with its romantic canals, half-timbered houses and cobbled streets. La Petite France is in the southwest corner of Strasbourg's old town area and is a short walk away from Ponts Couverts de Strasbourg and Barrage Vauban. It's impossible to visit Strasbourg without falling under the spell of Petite France. Ponts Couverts - translates to "Covered Bridges." Before making our way towards the entry to Petite France is a set of three bridges and four towers that make up a defensive structure to protect Strasbourg from invaders back in the 13th century. This is among the most iconic and picturesque landmarks in France's Alsace region. Barrage Vauban - There is an internal corridor running the length of the structure and you can go up to the roof to see the towers of the Ponts Couverts and the cathedral but, unfortunately, during our visit it was under construction and was closed off to the public.
