The host, who was fluent in English, pleasantly accepted me into the store and went back and forth a few times to dig out more items based on my interest (his grandfather's art pieces); I ended up happily purchasing many of them. He also shared the story of the store history and lovely episodes of his artist-grandpa, and helped on my extended request. After strolling in the world-famous Christmas markets in the area, the ambience of this antique store and the host's remarkable service & warm-witty talk were more than what I could asked for in the middle of the wild crowd. Further, the host understood my taste from our conversation and recommended a local church to visit for serenity. Another huge credit - it was the 2nd best place among my visits in Strasbourg! I thank the owner family for making my first visit to Strasbourg unforgettably wonderful.

FOREIGNERS NOT WELCOME! This Saturday the 15th of June, my…read morehusband and I were visiting Strasbourg for the first time, enjoying all of the shops near the cathedral. We saw this antique store with beautiful items in the window, and decided to look inside for a memento of our trip. We rang the doorbell and entered after they buzzed us in. We do not speak French, so asked the old woman who came to us, in English, if we could take a look at the items in her store. She immediately rolled her eyes at us then started shaking her head in a visibly angry manor, pointing her outstretched arm and boney finger at the door in which we had just entered. She had such a disdained look of disgust on her face as she was looking directly at me. I was so taken aback by her actions. I was confused, embarrassed, shocked at what this old woman had done to us. My husband and I just looked at each other, turned around, and quickly left the store. Honestly, I wanted to cry. I was angry that a person who has a business of selling items to others for a living, could not only treat customers in such a disgusting manor, but also treat people in this manor. This old woman needs to close her doors for good if she feels she can treat others in this distasteful way. SHAME ON HER! My husband and I went into her store with smiles on our faces, and nothing but politeness and respect towards her. I feel in my heart that I absolutely need to let others know what this old woman did to us, and how she sent me away in tears. I feel sorry for this old woman. She must be a very bitter and lonely old person to feel she has the right to treat others like she treated us today. HEED MY WARNING PLEASE, AND DO NOT VISIT THIS ESTABLISHMENT, at least not until this old woman is no longer there. No one should ever be made to feel as bad as she made me feel today. It left a bad taste in my mouth, and a dark blemish on the store in Strasbourg.
