J & E is, basically, 2 large heated pole buildings that are packed with antique furniture. It's a residential neighborhood. The storage buildings are behind the house of Lonnie, the owner. Since this is his home, he's open by appointment. I didn't realize until I talked to him for a while that Lonnie used to be one of the owners of J & E in St. Paul. They were on Arcade, near the 3M plant for decades! This is where everything went after they closed - Lonnie's pole buildings. After decade in the business, Lonnie really knows his stuff. This stuff aint cheap. There's hardly anything under $1000. Many of the pieces are in the $3000, $4000, and $5000 price range. And some items are 6 figures, like huge early 1900s bars with carved wood and stained glass. If you like this style and if you have a big enough wallet, I suggest you stop by. Lonnie is getting up there in years. He won't be around forever. But you can buy it now and it's only a short drive from the Twin Cities. BTW, Lonnie is a really nice guy. Thumbs up! -Daddy Maxx Retro
