Specialties
We buy and sell quality antiques. We offer a broad spectrum of things we love and enjoy, including vintage advertising, coin-operated machines, American oak furniture, country primitive furniture, mahogany revival furniture, coins, some silver, antique china, discontinued china patterns, American pottery, Texas primitive pottery, vintage drugstore collectables, books, mid-century collectable, Western collectables, vintage auto collectables, rugs, leaded glass windows and more. We buy and sell what we like, and amongst the four couples that co-own the business, we like a lot!
History
Established in 2000.
We love to collect, love the history behind different pieces, love quality craftsmanship we don't often see in today's retail environment, and love to share what we find with friends and others who have similar interests. We are a variant of the antique mall concept featuring the collections of five dealers in addition to our own collections. One of our goals at The Antique Station is to hear people say, "Wow!" when they walk in the door (and many do!), and to say, "This is a great antique shop!" after they have made their way through the building (and many say that as well).
We opened our shop in 2000 after renovating the 1948 building that once housed the service bays for wholesale food delivery trucks. We have 4,000 square feet of showroom floor space, and we utilize every horizontal and vertical inch of the shop.
Meet the Business Owner: Tom C.
Tom is one of four couples that own and run The Antique Station. It's a family run business. He and his wife, his parents (his dad has passed away now), her parents, and one other couple that have been lifelong friends came together to start the shop in 1998, then opening the doors in 2000.
Tom conceptualized the shop with the goal of creating a strong, vibrant antique business in downtown Abilene where collectors, dealers and general shoppers could all find something they had to buy every time they visit the shop.
