From the Business

Specialties

History

Established in 1988.

Meet the Manager: Ernesto G.

It was disappointing to see all touristy ceramics sold in Triana ceramic stores and everywhere. We…read morewere so so so happy when we found this family-owned store with owners who are knowledgeable and really love the pieces they sell What a gem

During a short stop in Sevilla, we went on a search for tiles from Triana and ended up at a small,…read morewinding shop in the Santa Cruz barrio based in a New York Times article related to tile shopping in Sevilla and Lisbon. The tiny storefront hid the true nature of the store, which we saw expand further and further as its tile and pottery-filled rooms looped back and around to showcase a wide variety of products. We were in search of a tile to remind us of the Alhambra, and found one that featured the solid colors and geometric patterns prevalent in Moorish architecture. The store owner explained that tis tile was special and different from the rest, which were comprised of a wide area of styles, new and old. Overall, this shop featured nice, albeit a bit pricey, tile and pottery products with a helpful owner to help you find what you're looking for.

I speak Spanish, so language was not an issue either. The following day we went back for a second look and to ask more questions, and again, the guy looked like he didn't want to be bothered. We wound up buying a reproduction of a vintage poster for 8 Euros, and then he had the nerve to charge another 2 Euros for the cardboard tube to put the poster in. He lost out on what could've been a good sale for him, because of his bad attitude.
